Chapter 1493: Sudden Interruption

"Charge!"

The soldiers crushed everything in their path. Some demons managed to hit them back, but the damage was incomparable to what the demons suffered. In addition, there was no sign of the charge slowing down.

As if knowing what had to be done, a superior demon rushed in their way.

*Roar!*

"That’s..." The captain gasped. "That’s a superior demon bear! We have to stop it!"

"You don’t have to."

"!!!" The captain widened his eyes. "Madam Alicia!"

Alicia shook her head before pointing forward. "Look. This is the lord you’re going to serve from now on. While he might not be comparable to his father yet, you shouldn’t underestimate him."

The demon bear finally stood in their path. The demon bear was exuding a tremendous amount of demonic energy, while Dylan continued onward without any sign of stopping.

The captain gritted his teeth, wondering how he should deal with the aftermath. If their captain were blown away, the morale would collapse. Their charge might slow down as well, and they would be engulfed by the demon army.

However, Dylan had received the power of the Honor Bearer Rune. In addition, he wasn’t the same person as he was back in the army.

Due to his good relationship with Anna, he had obviously enjoyed a lot of things from her. Anna, after all, felt guilty for causing her brother’s exile.

Dylan focused all his strength into his glaive before shouting, "Spirit Transformation!"

"!!!" The captain widened his eyes as the spiritual energy erupted from Dylan’s body. Dylan’s arms were covered in scales, and a pair of draconic wings appeared on his back.

Anna inherited her element from her mother, which came in the form of a lightning spirit. However, Dylan inherited his element from her father, who was once the strongest expert in their Stargaze family.

And his spirit, although not of the highest rank, was a demihuman spirit with the power of wind.

The wind gathered on his glaive while the demon struck him with a powerful sweep, carrying all its demonic energy.

When the glaive and the paw collided, their energy caused a massive burst of shock waves that shook the entire area.

Normally, the clash between two energies would cause the two energies to be depleted. Yet, the wind energy from Dylan’s glaive actually turned around as if it was circulating back to the glaive.

With that much power, the bear’s paw was overwhelmed.

*Roar!* The bear let out another roar, as if he didn’t want to lose, but it was already over.

The moment the glaive smashed the paw down to the ground, its energy flow changed from a sphere-like flow to a concentrated blade. He cut the bear’s paw right away.

The captain widened his eyes. "That’s... the marquis’ Fleeting Wind Flow Technique! It’s the ability that allows the circulation of wind that doesn’t mind about wind getting blown away even if it means depleting more power, because the wind will naturally go back to its source. The reason the marquis can be known as the Fleeting Arbiter..."

"Don’t you know? Dylan Stargaze is actually stronger than his father at that age." Alicia smiled.

Dylan spun his glaive right away. The bear noticed what he was planning to do, so he sent another paw to stop him, but Dylan was one step faster. The wind launched the glaive up, boosting its speed.

Before the paw arrived, the glaive had already cut the bear’s neck and sent it flying.

All the people who witnessed the battle couldn’t help but widen their eyes in shock.

They had known that a spirit grandmaster was equal to a superior demon. Yet, their lord managed to overpower a superior demon and defeated it in just two strikes.

"Ooohhh!"

That result caused the soldiers to get even more fired up. Their morale increased even further as they looked like the demon army instead of the original demon army. They crushed everything in their path, fully aware that their lord was going to blast everything open for them and they just had to look at his back and chase after him.

However, that cheer didn’t last long. Just like Dylan, there was one more individual that saw this opportunity to crush the other group.

And that was the ancient demon.

The ancient demon leaped into the air and landed right in front of them, crushing all the demons on the spot and disregarding its own allies.

"!!!" Dylan widened his eyes in shock. It was something they wouldn’t see in the human army, but Dylan obviously had seen something like this during his time in the army.

The ancient demon was a bad thing, so he immediately curved his trajectory and shouted. "Follow me. We will take down the ancient demon with style!"

What he actually planned to do was escape from the demon army. The moment the ancient demon stood in front, the demon army would be disrupted. That flow would buy a lot of time for them, so they had achieved their mission.

"!!!" The ancient demon looked surprised. It just wanted to stop them and crush Dylan so that the rest of the demons could overrun them, but with the sudden change of trajectory, the ancient demon had to chase after him. If he did it, with his strength and size, he would trample more demons than necessary.

Dylan had figured this out and chosen this scenario. If the ancient demon followed him, he wouldn’t last long, but he should be able to hold on until the army escaped.

It was a perfect plan, but there was something he didn’t calculate.

It was the fact that there was another person that came with this demon army.

That man leaped from the back of the demon wolf and crashed into him.

"!!!" Dylan was startled and waved his glaive. His instinct was telling him that he would die if he didn’t use all his strength.

The wind burst as the glaive clashed with the fist. It was at this time that he was able to recognize the man who attacked him. "You... Demon Saint Alexander?!"

"It has been decided that you are going to die here." Alexander smirked, overpowered him, and launched him away.

Dylan felt like the pressure coming from that fist was crushing the bones in his hand and his ribs before that power launched him to the middle of the demon army, trapping him completely.
