Chapter 1636: Rui’s Role

Rui became a bit excited. Even though the power was uncontrollable, it was manageable this way.

The bear was shocked that a single strike was all it took for Rui to deal such damage.

Even the soldiers under her command couldn’t believe it either.

Still, they cheered, as this was the time for them to push back. They would win this battle.

The cheers made Rui even more excited. She bounced in the air multiple times as if the light itself were bouncing off the mirrors.

The bear roared and waved its paw at Rui again.

Now that she knew how to handle her power, Rui didn’t change her path. If the bear wanted a contest of strength, there was no reason for her to reject it.

However, the bear sped up its paw at the last moment, which missed Rui. This way, its remaining arm wouldn’t get destroyed.

Then, the bear spun its body, swinging its arm with the momentum of the spin.

Rui was quite surprised by the sudden fake movement, but she easily bounced in the air one more time and propelled herself above the bear. This way, there was no way for the bear to avoid her anymore.

The bear tried to throw its body to the side to avoid Rui, causing her punch to hit the ground instead.

Still, the punch was so powerful that it caused an enormous crater in the area. The ground shook furiously as if there were an earthquake nearby.

Of course, the demons ended up falling and rolling to the center of the crater, causing a huge gap in the demon rank.

To stop Rui from doing whatever she wanted, some superior demons turned around and released their respective attacks to stop her.

Unfortunately for them, Rui’s strength had become so much different. She simply pointed her palm in that direction as a translucent barrier of light formed.

There was no need to control this barrier, as it would only stay there for the duration of the attack.

In the meantime, Rui turned around and punched forward. The light burst from her fist and hit the bear directly.

The bear didn’t have enough time to avoid it, so it put its arm forward to block it, but the arm sacrifice could only deflect the light a little bit.

It still hit the left side of its body, obliterating everything.

The organs and blood started to come out, causing the bear to stop moving.

This was the chance.

Rui recalled her barrier and used the last bit of her power to close the distance and hit the bear.

The bear roared, gathering its power in its mouth. There was only one type of strike it could do in this situation.

Unfortunately for the bear, it couldn’t gather its power fast enough before Rui hit its chest, destroying its upper body and separating the head and the lower body.

"Huu..." Rui smiled. She had killed an ancient demon with only 30% of her power. Thanks to the headband, she could do something else.

Rui first leaped into the sky and sent out another rain of light to weaken the demons.

Then, Rui returned to the army and shouted, "Rochy!"

"Here, Ma’am!" The captain of the army responded.

"I need you to stay here and guard this area. Most likely, we will have a reinforcement soon. I’ll grant you my command."

"How about you, Ma’am?" He frowned. Rui was supposed to stay here. Besides, it didn’t look like Rui had exhausted all her power.

"My True Spirit Body will end in 24 minutes. So, I need to use the remaining time to take down one more ancient demon. That’s why I entrust this battlefield to you. Don’t let the demons pass us, understand?"

"Yes, Ma’am!"

After that confirmation, Rui stated, "Captain Rochy, you now have command over this army."

"Understood!" Rochy saluted as Rui disappeared from his vision.

Rui had one target in mind, which was close to her and also required her presence.

There was one spirit transcendence that really needed her, simply because this spirit transcendence could only defend, not attack.

Not far from her battlefield, there was another battlefield with a unique look.

The battlefield had turned into a maze with a huge bison demon in the middle. The bison demon had been caged with a cube-shaped barrier, not letting it out even if it tried to dig.

And the person who made this possible was none other than the barrier user, Saintess Layla.

She hoped Noel and the others could finish their battle and head here to relieve the situation.
