Chapter 1421: Family Reunion
Chapter 1421: Family Reunion
"Brother, where should we go from here?" Remi asked.
Mikhail was busy looking at the map in his hands, searching for the safest route that would take them to their destination.
When their group was sent on a mission to stop the advance of the Celestial Army, Laplace Demon appeared in front of them and relayed Thirteen’s warning.
"Do not intercept the Celestial Army. Ignore your missions, and just head to any major human cities. I will handle the rest."
Mikhail, Shasha, and Remi always listened to Zion.
Despite the other Wanderers in their group repeatedly complaining about the consecutive mission failures they were getting, the three members of the Leventis Family didn’t budge.
In the end, after failing their mission three times, the missions stopped coming altogether.
It would be a lie to say that they were unfazed by their current situation. As much as they trusted Zion, the fear of the unknown lingered in their heart.
The missions of the Wanderers must be cleared if they wished to return home. The fact that they were no longer receiving any missions made the other Wanderers fear that they could no longer go home.
The only reason the other Wanderers didn’t rebel was because the Leventis Family were still with them. This meant that they had also failed their mission and couldn’t go back to Pangea unless something unexpected happened.
"The nearest city is the City of Aurumvale," Mikhail replied. "If we take the path through the mountains, we will arrive in three days."
He was just about to order the Wanderers to prepare for they would soon leave the camp, when the sound of flapping wings reached their ears.
"Look! Over there!" one of the Wanderers shouted as they pointed to the east.
A Thunderbird bigger than a bus slowly descended from the sky. All the Wanderers could instinctively feel that the monster before them was stronger than the ones they had faced in the past.
Mikhail and Shasha, who had fought in the Cygni Continent, realized that the strength of this monster rivaled that of a Majin Prince.
Both of them hurriedly stood in front of Remi and braced themselves for what was about to come.
The Thunderbird landed a few meters away from the anxious Wanderers and didn’t make any move to scare them any further.
"We have arrived, Master," Sahard said through telepathy.
"Already?"
Thirteen and Stella were taking a nap on Sahard’s back, sleep-deprived during the past few days.
They had been traveling nonstop. But when they neared the city of Aurumvale, Metatron told Thirteen that his siblings were a few days of travel away from the city.
Since that was the case, Thirteen asked Forneus to meet him three days later at Mammon’s City.
Although the Immortal Fiend was a little annoyed with the delay of their arrival, he decided to find a place to rest near the port of Aurumvale and resurface after three days.
Frankly, he didn’t really want to associate himself with Mammon since he and the Fiend of Greed really didn’t get along well.
"Brother!"
The anxiety Remi had felt when she first saw the Thunderbird vanished completely the moment her eyes found Zion.
She even ran past Mikhail and Shasha in order to meet him up close.
Thirteen slid on Sahard’s wing and caught his little sister, who had lunged at him without holding back.
"Remi, you’re already grown up. You should act like a proper lady," Thirteen said while hugging his little sister, who had buried her head on his chest.
Mikhail and Shasha arrived shortly and joined the family hug.
Stella and the Wanderers watched this scene from the side without disturbing their touching reunion.
The group hug didn’t last long as both Mikhail and Shasha reluctantly pulled back. Only Remi remained, still hugging her brother, whom she missed very much.
"Zion, about the missions..." Mikhail wanted to ask if they really did the right thing by ignoring the missions given to them.
"If you did those missions, everyone in your group would have died," Thirteen replied. "The One is both reasonable and unreasonable. He strategically stationed the Wanderers so they would be unable to reach their mission locations on schedule.
"Haven’t you noticed? You were asked to go to Mount Olympus, but you weren’t told where exactly it is located. At most, you were only given a general direction of where to go, right?"
Mikhail and Shasha nodded in agreement. Thirteen had realized this during their mission because of the location they had been sent to when he arrived in Solterra.
Without knowing the general direction, it was impossible to reach Mount Olympus.
Even navigating through the Samara Desert was a monumental task. It was uncharted territory, and without Zion to guide them, the Wanderers might have perished during their journey.
Clearly, The God of Wanderers didn’t need unnecessary sacrifices. He placed the Wanderers in locations where they would need to face danger, but none of which was as dangerous as facing off against the Celestial Army.
After listening to his explanation, the other Wanderers also realized that their missions were indeed impossible to accomplish.
Even going to the nearest major city took them several months of traveling through harsh terrains filled with monsters.
"Don’t worry about the mission, I already have a plan," Thirteen said with confidence. "All of you just need to find a safe place to wait it out. I’ll handle the rest. Since you’re already here, let’s go to Aurumvale City. It’s the safest place in this region."
With Thirteen joining their group, the Wanderers no longer felt anxious. In their eyes, the teenage boy was a living legend with a perfect track record. He had never failed, and therefore would not fail now.
A hero among heroes!
If Thirteen only knew what they were thinking, he might have cringed hard enough to show on his face.
"Sahard will protect us, so you don’t have to worry about the monsters in the mountain," Thirteen stated. "Everyone, use your flying Avatars."
""Yes, Sir!""
The Wanderers obeyed without questioning his orders and summoned all of their flying Avatars.
Thirteen decided to ride with Remi on Sahard’s back, while Stella rode on Aethon.
The young lady could tell that Remi wanted to spend time with her brother, so she decided to not be the third wheel and just fly beside them.
Her relationship with Zion was still a secret from his family, and if possible, Stella wanted to keep it that way for as long as possible.
