Chapter 1486: Thirteen’s Second Host [Part 2]
Chapter 1486: Thirteen’s Second Host [Part 2]
The world remembered Pandora as the girl who unleashed disaster upon mankind.
But they never mentioned the part where she tried to stop it.
She was an innocent young lady whose only downside was her limitless curiosity of the world.
And her curiosity had brought her ruin, leading her to be branded as the greatest sinner in history. She was the lady of misfortune, often mocked by mortals even long after she breathed her last.
But to Thirteen, she was his precious Host who had suffered heartache, depression, and loneliness after making the greatest mistake in her life.
Her fall from grace had been the most tragic, and to this day, her last moments were still vivid in his memory.
"It’s all in the past, Thirteen," Pandora said softly, wiping the tears on his face with her thumbs. "Please smile. The world is not ending just yet."
Thirteen once again mouthed some words, asking Pandora the most important question right now.
"They’re safe." Pandora assured him. "I will never allow those important to you to perish in my domain. There is supposed to be another trial on this floor, but I decided to take action so you won’t lose anything anymore."
The young lady glanced at the sword in the teenage boy’s hand and sighed in her heart.
She then felt Thirteen’s hand cup her face and looked her straight in the eye. He once again mouthed a question, which made the young lady smirk.
"Telling you who among your lovers is my reincarnation is no fun," Pandora smirked. "Also, it’s useless even if you knew since all my memories have long ceased to exist. You should just continue what you’re doing and make me happy."
Thirteen asked another question, which made Pandora giggle.
"No, it’s not Erica," Pandora lightly pinched the teenage boy’s cheek. "I won’t answer any more of your questions regarding my identity. It’s already in the past. It’s time to leave it behind and work toward a happy future with you by my side."
At her words, Thirteen knew that she wouldn’t give him any hint of who she was among his lovers. But he already knew the answer.
Asking her if Erica was her reincarnation was a hint in itself. Since Pandora said no, he now had a strong candidate for her reincarnation.
Perhaps understanding that she had been tricked, the young lady pouted and pinched Thirteen’s cheek once more.
"I can’t really lower my guard against you," Pandora said, while pouting. "You’re so sly."
Finally, a faint smile appeared on his face. Fortunately, his lovers were not in any danger.
He had been tense for too long that the moment he relaxed, he lost the strength on his legs.
Pandora hurriedly supported his body, which made Thirteen’s face land on her chest. Instead of pushing him away, Pandora even patted his head as if telling him that it was alright.
"I already know that you like chests," Pandora said in a teasing tone. "Don’t worry, I’m still growing up. You can still look forward to my growth."
Suddenly realizing that she might have spoken a bit too much, Pandora immediately shut her mouth tightly, hoping Thirteen didn’t understand what she was talking about.
The two didn’t say anything to each other for a few minutes. Thirteen seemed content to hold her like this after not seeing her for thousands of years.
Pandora’s Will felt the same, so she simply held onto him. She loved the way Thirteen tried to protect his lovers during the trial, as well as the fact that he had rebelled against the Gods for the sake of all cannon fodders in the multiverse.
"Thirteen, you might lose your life after you leave this place," Pandora said softly. "Will you still go regardless?"
Thirteen nodded.
Even if you lose everything?
Your life... your lovers...
And me?
Thirteen paused for a bit, but still nodded in the end.
This was a battle that he started, and he would finish it no matter what. He couldn’t stop now, especially since many people relied on him to see it through until the end.
Pandora closed her eyes briefly.
For a moment, she simply listened to the quiet heartbeat against her chest.
Then she sighed. "You know I’ve always wondered what you would look like if you became human. Now that I’ve seen how princely you are, I feel like it’s a shame you didn’t appear to me in this form back then."
The young lady then planted a kiss on Thirteen’s forehead before reluctantly taking a step back.
"As much as I want to keep you here for eternity, I can’t be that selfish," Pandora said softly before reaching out towards the center of the white world. A moment later, a simple clay jar that stored water in the ancient past appeared in her hand.
"Hmm... since they keep on calling it a box, let’s make it a box," Pandora said in a teasing tone. The jar transformed into a metallic rubik’s cube that glowed with divine power.
She then handed it to the teenage boy, whom she loved very dearly.
"Take it, Thirteen," Pandora smiled. "Your lovers are inside. I’m sure you already know how to use this box, right?"
Thirteen nodded, and held it firmly in his hands.
"Now go..." Pandora gently cupped his face. "Go toward the future and shape it with your own two hands. No matter what happens, even if we all perish, I will follow you to the next life and to the life after that. This, I promise you."
Pandora smiled before kissing Thirteen’s lips one last time.
After that, she slowly turned into particles of light. She had been around for thousands of years, and it was now time for her to cease.
Even so, she was incredibly happy to spend her last moment with the person, whom she had waited for a very long time.
Now that the treasure had finally fallen into his hands, the Godfall Castle started to shake as pieces of its structure started to collapse.
As Thirteen pressed Pandora’s Box close to his chest, he found himself covered in an aurora of colors.
The white world started to collapse around him, signaling him that it was now truly time to go.
A second later, Thirteen vanished from where he stood, and the castle that had been around for thousands of years collapsed completely, signaling the end of an era filled with bitterness and pain.
