Chapter 1487: I Guess You Can Use That Time To Pray?

Half an hour before Thirteen met with Pandora...

Blood rained beneath the giant red portal as the Celestials and Fiends started the massacre of the Infernals guarding it.

Their Demigod leader found himself being besieged from all sides, with Forneus and Cranky taking the lead.

The Immortal Fiend didn’t hesitate to undo his seal and entered a Demigod State.

A giant sea serpent roared to the heavens and swam in the air as if it were in the sea.

While Wormwood could communicate with the world as a whole, Forneus was loved by Solterra.

Its denizens treated him as their ultimate guardian, granting him immortality.

"You little worm!" the Demigod shouted. "Resistance is futile! Just accept your fate and beg that you be our slave—arrghhh!"

The serpent’s massive tail swatted the Demigod from the sky, the latter’s crash resulting in a massive crater,

Forneus didn’t give his opponent a chance to recover and followed up with a breath attack of blue flames.

The Demigod tried to flee, but countless vines emerged from the ground and bound him.

A moment later, the Demigod’s scream reverberated in the surroundings, burnt alive by Forneus’ attack.

The land where the Demigod originally stood had turned into a hellish landscape.

Forneus wasn’t surprised when he saw the Demigod survive, knowing it would take more than just that to kill one.

This same line of thought had made it hard for him to believe that Zion casually killed three Demigods instantly. In fact, if he had heard it from his colleagues, he would outright say they were spouting nonsense.

But he was there when it happened. There was no denying that the teenage boy, whom he could kill with a single slap, insta-killed three Demigods, and they weren’t able to do anything about it.

Forneus wasn’t Zion. He couldn’t insta-kill a Demigod. But he had something better.

He could make them suffer a very painful death, and that was exactly what he intended to do with the bastard that dared to invade his world.

Forneus’ massive claws descended from the sky and grabbed hold of the Demigod, crushing him with his grip. But that wasn’t enough. He opened his jaws, intending to rip off the enemy’s head with his razor-sharp teeth.

But to his surprise, the Demigod only laughed as Forneus’ jaws descended upon him.

"I’ll see you all in the afterlife," the Demigod stated as his body expanded in a heartbeat.

Forneus hastily threw the Demigod back to the red portal in the sky. Soon, he exploded like a nuclear missile, spreading destructive flames and shockwaves outward.

The Infernals too weak to defend themselves from that kind of explosion instantly vaporized.

The Celestials and Fiends hurriedly backed off while activating their strongest defensive artifacts.

Some of them didn’t bother taking out anything. Dantanian, Belial, and Pharzuph simply hid behind Forneus’ enormous body and used him as a shield, eliciting a string of curses from the Immortal Fiend as he took the hit, blowing him away.

The giant sea serpent crashed onto a mountain, obliterating it completely. Despite the pain, profanities continuously spilled out of his lips, targeted at the bastards who used him as a shield.

"Good job tanking that, Forneus," Belial said as he pushed himself out of the Sea Serpent’s tail. "You’re awesome."

"Indeed." Pharzuph nodded. "If only your brain were as good as your body, we wouldn’t need Zion to win this fight."

Dantanian wanted to comment, but he was currently stuck beneath the Sea Serpent’s body, so he asked Belial and Pharzuph for help.

After getting freed, the Fiend of Many Faces looked at the red portal in the sky. The Demigod’s suicide attack had been so powerful, yet it hadn’t been affected at all.

"How can he casually blow himself up like that?" Dantanian asked.

"That’s because Infernals don’t die the same way other creatures do," Zaphiel replied as he landed beside Dantanian.

"They return to the void, and after a few decades, their bodies will reform. Although they have to start from scratch, their progress is still very fast. After a thousand years, they’ll be Demigods again."

"They’re a pain to fight," Camazotz complained as he returned to his demi-human form. He suffered a few bruises and looked paler than usual, but his gaze was sharper than ever. "I don’t know how we’re going to win when their main army arrives.

"Zion said the Main Army of the Infernals has hundreds of Demigods and dozens of Pseudo-Gods. I can’t really see us overcoming that kind of situation either."

Forneus never liked to sugarcoat things and always spoke his mind, accepting the facts as they were.

"But Zion said those Demigods can’t casually enter our world," Dantanian stated. "In fact, if Demigods like the guy you just killed come to our side, certain laws of our world will be destroyed. This means we can use loopholes to win."

"And pray tell, what those loopholes are?" Pharzuph asked. "Tell me how we can win?"

"W-We’ll have to wait for Zion to arrive first," Dantanian answered. "I’m sure he has a plan."

Zaphiel snorted. "If you can only rely on a child to win this war, I suggest you might as well join the Infernals as their dogs. That way, you don’t have to think anymore."

"You’re just saying whatever you want to say because you can join the Infernals anytime!" Dantanian shot back.

"What’s stopping you from jumping on their side?" Zaphiel asked with his arms crossed over his chest. "I’m telling you this. Once the main army arrives, I will not move a muscle. I’ll just watch and observe. I will only join your side if the tides turn in your favor."

"Two-faced scum," Belial sneered.

"P*ssy!" Pharzuph didn’t hold back and spat on the ground.

"D*ckhead!" Forneus commented.

"Y-You’re a piece of sh*t!" Dantanian stated.

It was very obvious that the Fiend of Many Faces wasn’t well-versed in cussing people.

Zaphiel casually shrugged, then looked at the red portal in the sky.

"I hope you’ve come up with what to do," Zaphiel sneered. "They’ll be here in less than ten minutes. I guess you can use that time to pray?"

"Pray to whom?" Dumah asked in contempt. "Aren’t we supposed to be the Gods of this world? Mortals pray to us for everything. How could you ask us to pray to a random God we haven’t met?"

"That’s right," Forneus said. "I’d rather pray to Zion. At least he delivers!"

Dantanian nodded in agreement. Truth be told, he hoped the teenage boy could come up with something. They were already troubled by just a single Demigod.

If more came, all of them would have to unseal their powers, something that they wished to avoid at all costs.
