Chapter 1516: After Story: Director’s Cut [Part 2]
"S-She’s pregnant?" Deus Ex Machina asked, making sure that his no-good son wasn’t pranking him right now. "Are you messing with me?"
"She is pregnant." Thirteen replied. "You will soon be a grandfather, so you better prepare a gift before they are born. A few divine artifacts will be good."
The corner of Deus Ex Machina’s lips twitched. Sure enough, his no-good son was a bastard. Even he didn’t dare to casually give divine artifacts to anyone because of the laws of causality.
Since looking at Thirteen annoyed him, he shifted his gaze at Stella, who was smiling at the banter between father and son.
"Have you told your parents?" Deus Ex Machina asked.
"Not yet." Stella shook her head. "We just found out today, and Zion said you should be the first to know about it. We will visit my family next and tell them the good news."
After learning he was the first to know about her pregnancy, Deus Ex Machina reluctantly forgave his no-good son. He had to admit, the gesture made him feel special.
"Congratulations," Deus Ex Machina said to Stella, and Fate. "I have a few problematic children myself. So if you need any parenting advice, don’t hesitate to ask for my help."
"You mean hands-off parenting advice." Thirteen scoffed. "Don’t talk as if you raised us properly. After we are born, you just tossed us to the universe like a baseball ball, not caring where it lands."
The System God ignored Thirteen completely, unwilling to admit that what he said was the truth.
But before the young man could say more things to his old man, he looked up at the sky. He sensed something.
As of on, his communicator rang and confirmed his suspicion.
"An Apostle of the Outer God has appeared in Planet XXX." The beautiful lady that was projected by the communicator reported. "Calling any available Sentinel to head to the scene ASAP!"
Thirteen sighed before looking at his wife, who gave him an understanding smile.
"Go," Stella said. "I’ll be fine. I’ll just chat with your father for a bit."
"Wait for me, okay?" Thirteen said. "I’ll keep it a secret from your father if we meet on Planet XXX."
Stella nodded before planting a kiss on her husband’s cheek. "Come back soon, okay?"
"Give me ten minutes." Thirteen stood up. "Pops, look after Stella for a while."
A pair of aurora wings appeared behind Thirteen, and three halos manifested above his head. These halos then merged into one, giving the young man’s aura a hint of divinity.
A second later, he was gone, flying at the speed of light to Planet XXX to deal with the Apostle of the Outer God who had come to their universe.
This was the consequence of Thirteen breaking the cycle of suffering for all Cannon Fodders, returning Free Will to the entire multiverse.
Their fates now belong to them, and whatever they do in life, they do it by their own choices.
"Are you happy, Fate?" Deus Ex Machina asked the young lady in front of him. "Does Thirteen bully you?"
"I will be honest. I didn’t think I could feel this happy being married to your son," Fate momentarily took over Stella’s body to reply to the System God. "And no. He doesn’t bully me. He is a very loving husband."
"Well, he got that trait from me." Deus Ex Machina raised his chin arrogantly.
But Fate and Stella, only gave him a judgemental look. How could they believe someone who had never been loved or fallen in love before?
The two made idle talk for a few minutes, and just when it was about to pass the ten minute mark, Thirteen appeared beside his seat.
"What did I miss?" Thirteen asked.
"Nothing much," Stella replied. "Are you done with work?"
"Mmm." Thirteen nodded. "I dealt with the Apostle and tossed him inside Pandora’s Box.
After hearing the words Pandora’s Box, the System God remembered that in the Director’s Cut, Thirteen had planned to trap him there alongside the Goddess.
The memo even said that if the two of them didn’t make babies, they would not be allowed to leave Pandora’s Box, even if they stayed there for thousands of years.
Thinking that Thirteen might just have given him a green hat, Deus Ex Machina’s face turned red, which surprised his no-good son, as well as his daughter-in-law.
"Pops, what’s wrong? Is this the side effect of being a virgin for thousands of years? You should really join one of those mixers held by the Harem God," Thirteen stated. "Maybe, just maybe, you could hook up with someone and actually become happy for once?"
"Will it kill you to say something nice for a change?" Deus Ex Machina glared at his no-good son, who was starting to get on his nerves. "You’re annoying. If that’s all you have to say then I’m leaving."
"You can go," Thirteen replied without hesitation. "But make sure that you prepare the divine artifacts for your grandkids when they are born. Stella is only the first, but I’ll work hard to make my other wives pregnant as well."
"Sure, you do that." Deus Ex Machina scoffed before standing up. "Congratulations again, Stella, and to you too, Fate. I still don’t see what’s so good about my son, but take good care of him for me."
""I will."" Stella’s and Fate’s voices overlapped with each other, promising to take good care of their husband.
After giving Thirteen one last glare, Deus Ex Machina took a step forward, and disappeared instantly.
A few seconds later, he appeared high above the clouds, far away from the cafe where he left Thirteen, Stella, and Fate.
He then reached out to his dimensional storage to take out the "Director’s Cut" notebook. Earlier, he thought of showing it to Thirteen. But, since his no-good son surprised him with the news of Stella’s, and Fate’s pregnancy, he forgot to give the notebook to him.
A few seconds later, a frown appeared on the System God’s face as he rummaged on his dimensional storage.
After triple checking his entire inventory, he realized that the notebook was no longer there!
"Did I misplace it?"
The frown on the System God’s face deepened. He was a very organized person, so it was impossible for him to have misplaced the notebook inside his dimensional storage.
But since it was not there, this meant that he might have left it somewhere by accident.
However, he immediately tossed this idea aside.
"Just where could it be?" Deus Ex Machina muttered before returning to his homeworld, SCADREZ, to see if he had somehow misplaced the notebook inside his room.
Little did he know that the book had returned to its true owner, who was currently adding a few more lines to the parts of the story that didn’t come to pass.
Soon, these stories that were not added would manifest itself and become part of the IF Stories that would be added very soon.
Stories that didn’t happen but would happen in a parallel universe. A reality that had branched out after Thirteen made a different choice, which would be seen in the upcoming After Stories.
