Chapter 471- Revelation (3)
Chapter 471: Chapter 471- Revelation (3)
The emergence of the tower, the eclipse, the unconscious citizens, and the Queen. He was going to resolve all of it.
"What should we do?" The Squires asked.
Reinhardt’s footsteps stopped. Then, without turning around, he declared, "You have all done enough. Rest now and leave everything to me."
The squires had fulfilled their part. Even when up against a wall, they did not lose their spirit and continued to struggle. While they pretended to be alright, he could see the fatigue in their eyes.
Everyone nodded their heads at the words of their commander, which held a rare warmth to them.
Reinhardt did not stop anymore and walked out of the hall. His back figure was incredibly reliable and suave.
The moment he stepped out of the hall, he felt a vast energy trying to pull him in. Like a strong current, it was present around the entire palace, moving and thrashing wildly.
There was no need to even think as to where the energy was leaking from. Reinhardt tracked the energy back to its source. Her aura threaded through the corridors like a trail, beckoning and whispering to him.
He continued to follow the trail until he reached the King’s private chambers.
CREAK... The moment he stepped closer, the doors opened on their own.
Inside, the king of Solaris was lying on his bed, unconscious, just like the rest of the citizens of the capital.
However, Reinhardt’s eyes did not land on the king first. No, they were pulled towards the balcony where the velvet curtains swayed with the wind. The smell of wine stained the air and the glow of crystal lamps painted the room in a soft, seductive glow.
Amidst all of it sat a figure... the Queen.
Cross-legged on a luxurious couch, swirling a glass of deep red wine. Her pink hair cascaded like liquid azalea over her shoulders. Horns curved elegantly from her head, framing a crown, and her eyes were two pools of pink oceans, beautiful enough to steal breath and dangerous enough to steal reason.
She sat there enjoying the quiet of the night and the night breeze. Her posture was relaxed, sensual, and unbothered. She lifted the wine to her lips, tracing a slow, deliberate sip. Then, without turning around, she muttered in a voice that was dripping with allure, "You took your time... My Knight."
Reinhardt slowly stepped closer. His body which was forged by the god himself and which housed his divine stats and powers, breathed a quiet pressure born from divinity. It clashed directly against the sultry, intoxicating aura rolling off the Queen like waves of perfumed heat.
Earlier, when watching the scene from Diana’s perspective, he had held onto a sliver of hope. A hope that what he had witnessed was trickery, illusion, possession, enchantment... anything other than her.
But now, standing this close... There was no denying it. She was a demon!!
"My knight?" The Queen called out again. Her violet gaze drifted lazily toward him.
Hearing that familiar form of address, Reinhardt couldn’t help but furrow his brows. When she looked at him, he felt something ancient staring back through her.
"Please don’t call me that."
There was only one person he allowed to address him as such, and it was the Queen.
"Hm? What a strange thing to say. If I don’t address you as ’my knight’, then how should I address you? You are my loyal knight who has fought and bled for me all these years." She tilted her head and chuckled softly.
"Are you going to disobey your Queen’s command?"
The confidence, the regalness, and the subtle command behind her tone, everything about her reminded him of the Queen.
Reinhardt said nothing for a moment. Instead, he sat on the couch opposite her, studying every detail of this... being.
The simple white gown she wore right now did nothing to hide the lush curve of her hips and the tantalizing length of her bare leg. The neckline was loose, catching the light from the crystals, perfectly accentuating her tanned skin and the valley between her breasts.
She was the picture of seduction, sensual ease in the midst of a nightmare.
Reinhardt’s expression remained indifferent as he studied her carefully. "Who are you?"
Hahaha... What answered him was a low, sonorous laugh. It was the Queen’s voice that he was so used to hearing, but there was... more. It was now richer, deeper, and honeyed, as though two beings were speaking through one throat.
The Queen slowly set her eyes with his own. Those eyes glowed with a faint pink light capable of seducing the world. However, at this moment, they were not consciously trying to seduce, but was something that was born out of the natural disposition of her body.
"Reinhardt, my most loyal knight. I knew those petty schemes of the maggots of the pits wouldn’t be able to stop you. That said, it’s quite rude to ask your Queen that question."
To call a high ranking demon a maggot showed how high her rank was. That said, he couldn’t be bothered about that right now as his eyes sharpened at the words she spoke next.
"Who am I, huh? Let me make this easier for you."
Her body was bathed in a pink light. In that instant, the horns on her head receded. The markings faded. Her hair dimmed to its old crimson colour. And suddenly, the Queen he knew, was back once again. Smiling with that same gentle, teasing smile he had seen countless times in court.
It was her. It was undeniably her. And yet... not her.
"Does this form of mine suit more of your taste?"
A small smile, almost in a teasing manner, played on her lips. There was no doubt it was the Queen. There was no high ranking shape shifter demon or other foul play at work.
"Are you a demon? Or has some fiend possessed you?"
"Mm~, let’s say I am both. I am your Queen, and at the same time, I’m not. I’m human, and at the same time, I’m not."
