The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 530- Basics of [Divine Beast Summoning] (2)

Chapter 530: Chapter 530- Basics of [Divine Beast Summoning] (2)

Having said this much, he looked at his knights. Reinhardt could tell what they were thinking. Drawing mana from them, wouldn’t that create accidents or worse, kill them? Of course, there is a chance, which is precisely why he suggested they learn these skills beforehand.

Besides, he knew that the members of his Temple of Light wouldn’t get cold feet just because of some drawback.

Just as he thought, the knights matched his eyes and spoke in unison. "Commander, when do we begin?"

Reinhardt nodded at their confidence and explained, "There is a risk to your lives being endangered, which is why you will not summon anything immediately. Your first phase of training will be this: you will learn to listen."

He began to move even before his words fell. With his right hand extended, he slowly muttered the name of the skill. The next instant, a brilliant display of light appeared in the sky. Everyone who placed their eyes above couldn’t help but comment.

"Aurora?!"

That’s right, what appeared in their vision was none other than an aurora.

While the spectacle wasn’t too unusual in the distant snow capped Alps, it was clearly quite strange to see an aurora in a city, not to mention during the day. Be that as it may, there was no denying the fact that their commander created an aurora.

At Reinhardt’s gesture, light blossomed. Thousands of tiny light clusters fell from the sky. When they drew near, it was only then that the members of the Temple of Light realised that the phenomenon above was no aurora but rather a cluster of thousands of light particles.

No, they weren’t light particles but rather tiny winged creatures that looked like half firefly, half bird, with delicate wings shaped like petals of light.

"This!" Everyone stared at the phenomenon happening in front of them with wide open eyes.

Reinhardt held one of the light creatures and slowly explained. "What you see in front of me is called a Wayfarer. A creature that was summoned through the [Divine Beast Summoning] skill. Do not worry; they have no attack power, as such they cannot harm you."

The new recruits relaxed when they heard the commander say that. Tiny speckles of light continued to fall all around them, revealing themselves to be Wayfarers.

"Divine Beast Summoning has four tiers: low tier, mid tier, high tier, and sacred tier. The Wayfarer are high tier beasts despite their obvious lack in strength. It is because these tiny creatures have only one purpose, and that is to guide. No matter how twisted the terrain, how deep the fog, or how distorted space becomes, the swarm will always find the truest path forward"...

"They scatter outward, mapping the land, sensing ley lines, divine currents, underground passages, and even warped or sealed routes. To those who follow them, being lost becomes impossible."

That was what the Wayfarer was. While Reinhardt gave them all the information, there was one thing that he deliberately omitted: the Divine Tier. To tell the truth, the [Divine Beast Summoning] had one more tier after the sacred tier, called the Divine Tier.

However, as this tier summoned the three divine beasts, it was impossible for any human to activate unless they also stepped into the divine like him.

In fact, even summoning the high tier would be incredibly difficult for even the most talented of them. Nonetheless, he believed in his knights and their potential.

Coming back to the topic, Reinhardt pointed at the Wayfarer in his hand. "Divine Beasts exist between realms. Before summoning, you must sense. Before sensing, you must quiet your mind and try to listen to the voice of these creatures. This is your first lesson in learning the [Soul Synchronisation] skill. Only those who can learn how to listen to the voice of these divine creatures can move to the next step. Now, stop dilly-dallying and start training."

And so, on his command, the Order of the Temple of Light began their new training session.

High Tier Summon: Luminal Wayfarer. Support type beasts. Individually, they are insignificant, but together they form a living constellation that spreads across the land.

To others, it would look like they are humming faintly, but in fact, they are trying to actively communicate with you, guiding your soul in a gentle and soothing way.

As they are only able to guide, at first thought, the beast’s rank might seem disproportionate to its ability. However, one would be sorely mistaken if one thought like that.

Among the many creatures in his repertoire that he could summon, the Luminal Wayfarer was the only beast that he could trust wholeheartedly to navigate his way. They can mark the safest, fastest, or most concealed routes depending on Reinhardt’s intent.

The Wayfarer can instinctively sense danger and alert him or his allies scattered across the plane to the danger ahead. Warn about traps, unstable terrain, ambushes, or cursed zones ahead.

Most importantly, in special places like mazes, illusions, or reality warped spaces, the swarm forces a path into existence, causing false routes to unravel and hidden exits to reveal themselves.

Reinhardt planned to use them for his plans in the near future.

Time passed as the training began.

"Before you can communicate with them, you must first confront yourselves. Those with unstable emotions, unresolved fear, greed, or hesitation will fail. Not because you lack talent, but because Divine Beasts will not answer lies."

He gave instructions and guided their efforts wherever needed. "Communicating with the Wayfarer is just the start. Based on the level of synchronicity you are able to achieve with the Wayfarer, it will reveal the potential and type of beast you can summon in the future"...

"Today, you begin Soul Synchronization training. No summoning. No manifestations. Only alignment. If you survive that, then we’ll talk about beasts."

And so, for the rest of the session, until the time came for their duty, the members of the Temple of Light tried to communicate with the Divine beast Wayfarer.

The day bled quietly into evening by the time Reinhardt set his pen down. You would expect him to take a break after a day of hard work.

However, thanks to the mountain of pending work, it was a pipe dream. Meetings, petitions, inspections... governance was also a type of battlefield, one without swords.

That said, as governor, he could not afford to disappear behind desk work, yet neither could he neglect them. When the last matter for the day was settled and the city outside was slowly beginning to glow with street lamps and crystals, he finally got up from his desk.

Kuh! A groan inadvertently leaked out of him. As much as he wanted to retire for the day, there was still one engagement remaining. Well, it was more of a date than work.

Exiting the office, he went to his room and changed. Donned in a tailored dark coat threaded with faint silver embroidery along the cuffs and collar, his attire commanded attention without demanding it. His presence alone did the rest.

Reinhardt stood in front of the carriage parked at the front door. A short while later, Melissa arrived. Her dress made no concessions to subtlety. She was beautiful yet bold, wearing a form fitting crimson dress that split high along the thigh; the fabric clung shamelessly to her curves, its neckline daring enough to draw more than a few lingering glances.

On top, she wore a short cloak that draped loosely over her shoulders. Her hair was tied back just enough to expose her neck and cleavage.

"I hope Lord Reinhardt didn’t have to wait too long?" Melissa spoke apologetically, strutting to his side.

Reinhardt shook his head and stepped into the carriage. Together, they headed west.

Having gone through an intense development revolution, the Western District had become quite alive.

District Square... At the heart stood the newly constructed theatre, an architectural marvel of white stone and stately design with sweeping curves and glass panels. The building was so grand that every passerby who walked from here couldn’t help but turn towards it.

What’s more, to make it as impactful to the eye as possible, the decorations around the building were not neglected either. From the fountain to the statues and even the plants, every single aspect was taken care of.

Today, a large crowd gathered around the building, attracted by the banners that fluttered overhead, announcing the opening of the theatre. It was the reason why the crowd was buzzing with excitement.

Of course, another reason was the return of the famous actress Eleanor, who, according to rumour, had chosen Snowpoint City to settle down. Many of the people gathered here were reporters and hidden agents for other influential people.

That said, the atmosphere shifted instantly once Reinhardt’s carriage arrived. The moment he stepped out with Melissa by his side, the crowd was silenced by his powerful presence.

The next second, though, they started surging and crowding around him, their lips moving constantly with questions.
