The Alpha's Unwanted Bride

Chapter 777: BLUE SOIL

Chapter 777: BLUE SOIL

I grimaced as he led me down the cave.

I could feel the eyes of the rest of the pack members on me.

What did he need me here for? I wondered.

Didn’t he have enough people?

In fact able bodied men who could do more work than I could.

Once I was dragged into the cave I snatched my arm away and frowned.

I rubbed my wrists.

His grip was firm. And had hurt me.

“You don’t need to hold my hand in such a way.” I frowned.

I looked up into the dirty cave.

It would have been dark if not for the fire torches that hung by each corner to light then space.

I walked on careful not to step on any hard rocks.

“Walk on fast.” He snapped. “Do you want me to carry you?”

I went red and hurried on.

I believed he would carry out his threat.

I couldn’t have everyone watching him carry me.

And knowing him I knew that he was going to do it in the most embarrassing way possible.

I hurried after him pushing through the mines as went deeper and deeper.

I tried my best to match his pace, but the man walked too fast.

“What am I doing here?” I asked as I hopped over stones.

“Handmaidens aren’t supposed to speak.” He stated.

I rolled my eyes. “Going to the mines isn’t the job of a handmaiden but look at me here!”

“Oh so now you know the duties of handmaiden don’t you?” He asked me sarcastically. “Well handmaidens are expected to spend every night fucking the Alphas at every beck and call.”

My face flushed red.

I looked around hurriedly to see if anyone had heard that.

“I will do no such thing.” I swore.

“Then keep quiet and do as you have been asked to now!” He snapped at me and I closed my mouth shut.

We kept on going down the mines I was tired.

My body was so exhausted I dreaded the journey of gong back up later.

At least now I was descending, but later I was going to be ascending.

Eventually we got to a dead end.

There were miners working on the wall.

Hitting and hitting over the wall.

Once they saw Aiden, they came to a pause.

They greeted him and dispersed.

I looked all over the dead end.

There were stones that were crumbled on top one another while some were already on the floor.

I looked around caves wondering how safe it was.

“How safe is this? Can’t this fall down?” I said worried.

I didn’t know much about caves and mines.

But I knew that digging and digging through a hole that didn’t have any pillars could spell dangerous.

“That’s why they build pillars the moment they move.” He indicated.

I nodded. “What am I here for?”

“You’re an experienced healer in this parts aren’t you?” He asked me.

I gave a slight shrug. “That’s more my mother.”

“You’ll have to do.” He snapped.

I pursed my lips.

“Come here.” He said.

The way he said.

In such a soft and alluring way and yet, commanding.

For some reason I didn’t argue.

I didn’t feel like arguing.

I just quietly went to where he was.

He opened his palm and showed me what looked like blue sand.

“What’s that?” I asked eyeing him.

“You’re the one who is going to answer that.” He said.

I frowned. “This is what you brought me all the way for? Some probable blue colored sand. What the hell?”

Aiden glared at me so dangerously I shut my mouth.

I sighed heavily.

“What do you want?” I asked tired.

“I want you to tell me what this is.” He said.

I looked him over and very carefully but warily set my finger over it in an attempt to take a pinch.

I looked at him suspiciously. “It’s not dangerous to me is it?”

“Do I look like someone who got hurt by this?” He snapped back.

“Well I don’t know. You’re a shifted wolf I’m not yet.” I retorted.

“So that’s why you can’t take my controls.” He sneered. “You actually haven’t shifted yet. Aren’t you too old?”

“Don’t you know how to mind your business?” I asked him back.

He looked like he would strangle me so I quickly took a pinch of whatever it was and prayed that whatever had been going on with me won’t affect touching it.

Nothing happened.

I breathed a heavy sigh of relief before finally examining it.

I placed it on my palm and looked at it.

“It looks like soil.” I remarked.

“Exactly.” He snapped his finger.

“I thought you said you had no idea what it was.” I hissed.

“Do you ever shut up?”

I pushed my mouth and turned back to the soil.

“I’ve never seen blue soil before.” I said.

“I want you to take a sample of this soil out of the cave and examine it in your healer quarters. You’re a healer. You’re good with plants and soils you know these things. I want you to treat it like any other soil and get back to me on what you observe.”

I frowned.

Why did he care about blue soil.

“Where did it come from?” I asked looking around.

He pointed at a small crack from the dead end where the stones remained.

I went down slowly to examine where he had pointed out.

He was right the sand had made a heap over a hole from where it had spilled.

“Okay fine. I’ll take it back home to my mother.” I said raising back to my feet.

As I rose up I felt a strange tension in my head.

I staggered back and Aiden was quick to grab me.

“Are you okay?” He asked me his arms around waist.

I pressed my fingers at my temples and pressed my eyes shut.

It felt like the same type of tension after my fight with mother except it wasn’t as painful.

I massaged my temples over and over again.

And then realized he was still holding my waist.

I quickly moved away.

“I’m fine.” I said.

“Are you sure you don’t-

I glared at him and he rolled his eyes.

“Get the specimen and make sure you keep it in your room. We can’t have it exposed outside. We don’t know what it can do yet.” He said.

I didn’t like the feeling of being in the cave.

It gave me the creeps.
