Chapter 932: Chapter 930-Shits That Happened.
"Well, some of us were suffering here, while some went on for some relaxing time of their own."
Alex took the lead and spoke, with a smile, to which I shrugged my shoulders as I replied.
"Well, if my people couldn’t deal without me, then they aren’t the strong ones I thought they were, nor as smart."
The last one was aimed at Alex, who flinched and smiled wider at it, the swirls of power in his eyes striking. Before he could speak, I raised my hand and stopped him, which made him pout and leave with that disgusted look. I focused on the info part of the team as I spoke to Tron.
"Tell me everything I missed."
Tron respectfully stood up from his seat and passed on a document to me, which I took and just as I did, Tron started to speak, my eyes on the document.
"As you had predicted, after you left, the next day itself, everything went to shit. The ones that were truly hiding their powers from this place started to pop up, they challenged and they won, one after another."
I nodded my head, allowing Tron to continue.
"It was a brutal fight but all the past ones gathered together to fight and resist this sudden change in power, the old ones trying to keep up, but everything kept going well, until the great betrayal by Isabella, that blew everything out of the water and brought down the whole atmosphere, destroyed trust, broke alliances and even destroyed the spirits of the students."
I smiled at those words, my eyes still on the documents as I commented.
"Must have been Girika’s aim."
I mused as Tron, with a nod, continued.
"They came after the rankings first, trying to dominate them. It was a wave after wave, the strong ones got the request, and the really powerful ones showed why they are from the big organisations. It was a brutal match; many of the powerful members of the factions kept losing. It was a downhill battle. It didn’t help the fact that Isabella sold out information about everyone and that she jumped ships with her faction, taking away a core part of our strength."
My smile only twitched a little at Tron’s words as I still focused on the document, my mind simply running through the issues as Tron kept speaking.
"As you can see, they came after us; heavy would be an understatement. To the others, we looked like the biggest and juiciest piece to cut off first, and all of those newly risen geniuses wanted your head on a pike, and when they learned you weren’t here, they used that to smear your reputation across the entire academy, which once again affected the morale of our faction and the other factions. You are a type of hero to them after all."
’Nice bootlicking through the talks, I like it.’
Laughing internally at that joke, I focused on Tron.
"Rumours spread that you ran away from fear, that you are scared, and many believed it, until...."
"Until you all showed your powers and kicked asses."
I responded, my words making the lips of everyone twitch with smiles at it. Even Tron felt his own back straighten up at my words, pride being the central focus of the situation, and Tron nodded his head, caught on.
"Indeed, when they couldn’t hit you, they came after our top members. Blooming with confidence, they hit us, and they all got defeated in the biggest way possible. Our weapons, abilities and what we had at hand took them all down in battle, and we didn’t just win, we dominated the whole match."
"That’s what I like to hear."
I added, to which Tron kept the flow going.
"It wasn’t just combat; they tried to come after us in all the fields: in war tactics, in alchemy, in dual battle rankings, and even in the healer rankings. They tried to pull us down with battles and their best, but they all lost. Our strength was more than they could handle."
"At least with the middle-level geniuses of theirs, right?"
I added, to which Tron’s aura seemed to take a little kick back as a wry smile came to his face.
"Yes, once they saw that the ones they sent towards us with the knowledge they had weren’t doing the deed, they tried to overwhelm us with numbers, started targeting our lower-tier members, trying to bring down their rankings, making it very hard for them to do anything at all. It was brutal, targeted and deadly."
The atmosphere took a small blow at those words, but it wasn’t done with that, as Tron, straightening himself, continued.
"But then we started our counterattacks: the new ones trained by Rina, the assassins given strength by Sana, the demons that were thrown away, taught to fight by Amon and given blessings, the decent ones that were trained best by Mark, the responses we used around to grow all came together for us. We had our people, and we started using them to fight back, and we made a big dent, a very effective one."
My smile widened at that. I was only gone for a few days, and a lot happened within that time, but that lot can also be said to be small, too.
"And after that, they took a back seat; they knew they couldn’t bring us down in the first sweep they took, so now they are watching, though that won’t last for long; they will keep pressuring us until we fall or break."
And here Tron paused, waiting for me as I placed the document down and looked at him.
"Have the other factions asked us for help?"
"Yes, all of them are even now requesting any help we can provide. Unlike us, they are sinking and would soon fall apart. This is too much for them all; many have jumped ships, and power is talking a lot now."
Nodding at his words, I paused. As prideful as the girls are, they haven’t yet asked me for any direct help, but they are expecting it in many ways. The intelligent ones in their factions definitely want my faction to make the move. By now, we have already established ourselves as powerful, something which no one would have seen coming; after all, we are indeed relatively new.
A moment of silence fell in the room as I seemed to contemplate for a moment. Right now, we are leading, but for now, there is still the issue of stamina. Many of the students have already joined the ranks of the geniuses from the organisations. It was more elucidative in many ways, and if it wasn’t for the overall promise that academy things should stay academy, the organisations could have easily used their powers to stress the existing faction leaders to switch up.
’But now with such movements, actions and such pressure, it won’t be long before faction heads change, members change and perhaps even new factions to rise.’
My mind glinted with a certain knowledge I know; the overall situation was bad. The current faction is losing. In fact, the situation is simple enough: the members of the organisations can still ride on the coattails of the existing ones; they would have just needed to replace power, bit by bit. But no, they wanted their own markings, their own legacy and power left in the academy, so they will break and fight till they get what they want.
’And I don’t want that.’
The situation, in essence, is tricky. There is a subtle balance to be maintained here. I need to keep the older factions and the new ones close to me, and yes, I know that sounds impossible to do, but when has the impossible ever stopped me? My eyes glinted with a plan that was blooming in me for some time.
Thanks to the addition of the archery tower’s members and the Darknight’s fighters, we held stronger than many others because, unlike the rest, these ones stay with me. Thus, we held very strongly, but the one coming up will be more and more, thus my eyes turned towards Nihil and Elysia.
"How did the tasks I gave you before go?"
My words rang with power to which Nihil replied with a nod.
"All done."
Then Elysia, flinching a bit, added.
"Mine too."
This made me smile, myself leaning against the chair, my gaze holding towards Tron as I asked.
"You have got the names of the newly arising powers and their connections?"
Tron, nodding his head, spoke.
"I did. They weren’t trying much to hide it, but it’s not fully accurate. Knowing Girika, she must have also thrown in some other information to trick others, too."
I nodded at his words, took out a file, quickly passing it on to everyone at the table, Tron moving fast to take it and read it, his eyes widening with each moment and word.
