The Conquerors Path

Chapter 949 - 947-For Peace.

Chapter 949: Chapter 947-For Peace.

Here it was, the two of us: me, the most famous man in the world, and in a sense, the girl who could be considered one of the richest people in the world, not to mention looking so extremely beautiful that she just makes you stare in awe. The two of us sat like this, face to face, looking at each other, and nothing seemed to be amiss.

The outside world flowed away, and neither of us seemed to be detectable by the outside world. We still looked like we did, yet we sat face to face in this crowded place, with no one even recognising us. For Sabrina, let down the recognition for me. As I looked at this beautiful elf gazing at me with eyes that seemed to dissect me, I spoke.

"Hey..."

"That sounds like you didn’t want to meet me at all."

Sabrina added, to which I, chuckling, replied.

"If I didn’t want to, then I wouldn’t have come. How are you?"

"Surviving."

Sabrina’s words carried a lot of information. The meaning itself was vast and heavy, and I could see that she was a bit tired. The time for action against her was coming closer and closer. As I leaned against the chair, I placed my order, soon followed by Sabrina. After that, the two of us sat facing each other, seemingly trying to peer into each other’s minds, though I had the head start.

"I have a plan to deal with the pesky problems coming to our factions."

To my words, Sabrina looked unimpressed as I, maintaining my smile, asked.

"It seems you aren’t much interested in all this."

"Power like this was just a game for me. It doesn’t matter much where I stand."

I nodded my head to her words. Unlike many of the other girls, Sabrina isn’t the crown princess. She has no empire to inherit, no pressure to try to maintain being at the top. The only reason she took it was to just maintain a sense of balance and have more power with her so that she could do whatever she wanted in the academy.

But if the position gets too much with too much work, Sabrina won’t hesitate to throw it away to get the best benefit to do her own work and things. Unlike the rest, she doesn’t have to try so hard to hold on so much, and unlike many others, she is, in fact, in a close relationship with the ones from the organisations. They have immense respect for her, too.

’The bloodline slavery is hard to remove, after all.’

I mused. The bloodline she holds and her powers and beauty beyond make her very well respected, and the elves have a more connected approach to how things are going. They will let things flow as long as the wish finally lands in their hands. Thus, she has more leeway on how things can be done.

"Girika already came to you with a deal?"

I asked.

"Um... sometime ago. It wasn’t bad, per se."

Sabrina added, to which I replied with a smirk.

"But you rejected it."

"Yes, even if it will all be hard, I don’t turn back on my friends, and I have no desire to live with betrayal. It goes against my values."

I chuckled at her words, understanding them. Sure, she has that lazy attitude to just give everything away, but she also has her own set of values she won’t go against. She won’t stand with their side when the rest of the factions are being led by girls she considers her friends. That’s not the way she goes. Thus, she also joined the battle in a sense.

Trying her best to give the support and abilities she can to make everything easier for the rest of the members, this earned her some ire from other elves who thought they were giving her a lot of face. This led to there being elves from the organisations that support her and others that want to go against it, creating a whole fiasco for Sabrina to deal with.

As I smiled, the drinks we ordered arrived with some light snacks, and thank God I am half God right now, else all these drinks and foods would have long since made me tired of it all. Thus, reeling back, I started to drink and bite against a little bit of it all as we looked at the scenes of life moving outside of us.

"Sometimes I envy them. I hope I could move like that with such freedom of life, but then I also realise if I weren’t born with what I have now, I would also perhaps struggle to reach this power I have. Quite the contradiction in life."

To her reply, I gazed at her face before looking into the outside moving crowd.

"I understand. We all have that desire to just escape from all these responsibilities that fall into our laps. We just don’t want to deal with them at all and wish for something normal in life, doing normal things we can all enjoy."

My words made Sabrina look at me with a deeper look, a slight smile on her face as she replied.

"Guess you really understand... huh."

"Yeah, I do, but the sad thing is, when we wish for that normal life, it will come with the restraints of working our whole life to have it, and when we reach a level of absolute freedom, it means our normal life has gone away. Sometimes having them all is not possible."

My words, filled with deep meaning, made Sabrina nod her head. She understood exactly what I meant as she took a sip of her drink. The two of us just relaxed, sitting in that atmosphere, taking in all the changes around us as Sabrina suddenly spoke.

"I can’t destroy them."

"I know, and I don’t plan to."

My words made Sabrina look at me with a narrowed gaze as I continued.

"I have no desire to create such powerful enmity. That will only backfire for the future when we all lead the world. At the end, I have in mind, I wish for a close connection, an acknowledgement that will lead this whole world toward a brighter and better future."

And I saw the eyes of Sabrina widening at those words, her taking in the truth, understanding that I am serious as hell with my words. She placed down her drink, her expression turning soft and interested.

"Many won’t like that, and it won’t be easy."

"Nothing good in life comes easy."

I replied as Sabrina, smirking, spoke.

"Do your people know?"

I shook my head.

"No, you are the first person I have told this to. No one else knows about this; you are the first."

My words, I could see, had some effect on Sabrina as I saw her ears shift for a bit, shaking up and down, after which she spoke.

"Those are some dangerous words, but will you be able to back up what you said? Will you be able to reach the end of peace between all? Or is it an impossible dream?"

Her words made me laugh.

"We can’t know until we try."

My reply was simple, which made Sabrina calm down, as she was now involved in these talks, as she asked.

"How?"

To this, with a smile, I opened up a bit of my true plans to her. She listened with rapt attention, though the more she listened, the more her expression morphed into one of sheer astonishment. Though I did watch with interest as the surprise turned into horror, then into great horror. With just a bit of what I revealed, the expression of Sabrina looked like she was seeing a monster from hell as she looked at me.

"Tell me, you must be some sort of hero reincarnated, right?"

I chuckled at Sabrina’s words as she looked at me.

"No, I am just a normal man from another world that suddenly took over this body, ended up being loved by the supreme Gods, and now suddenly ended up like this in a game world, at least I think."

My reply earned a dry look from Sabrina.

"If what you say is true, then perhaps it’s worth a try to see if we can create peace between the rest."

Seeing her in, I spoke.

"Of course, I plan to create that peace, but for anyone who crosses too much of a line or tries to hurt what I hold dear, then they will have no mercy from me."

"Fair."

Sabrina replied to those words, she being in on the whole ordeal, to which I, taking up the juice holder, brought it to Sabrina for a hit.

"To peace."

"To change."

Tuk!

The sound of our glasses hitting sounded out as the world outside flowed on, problems new and old being born. With this, there is only something little more for me to deal with. They all will be more fun than this, for that is sure.
