Chapter 979: Chapter 977-Consequences.
"Hey, stay here safe, okay?"
Austin spoke, and he didn’t wait for Elda to reply, because the moment after, he disappeared. Along with it came a total of six members. By now, they were already a bloody pile, their faces caved in, their powers restricted, and each bone in their bodies broken. They were going through heavy pain, pain beyond anyone’s imagination, and they couldn’t even lose their consciousness.
Thus, Austin took them with him, and before anyone could even understand, he was outside the whole research building they were in. The excitement of the world itself paused as Austin appeared outside, all shiny and sparkling like a golden god. The Imperials and hidden protectors had all appeared and surrounded the place by the time Austin appeared outside.
Their auras and focus are fully prepared towards Austin. At the same time, the teachers and students also paused, their eyes widening as they gazed upon the scene. Austin floated at mid-range above the ground, his tattoos pulsing. In front of him, restricted and broken, were the six figures. To the fast and keen eyes, it was easy to detect the dressing of teachers among the two of them.
Austin only had a few seconds before his powers would loosen and all hell would break loose. Those few precious seconds were all he had before the situation, at this level of power, would be completely out of his hands.
"Austin?"
The sound of Mira’s voice rang out as she looked at the scene in front of her, and before anyone could even do anything, Austin went ahead and balled his fists together. Along with it came the screams, pig-like dying sounds, squeals of pain and death.
"ARGHHHHH!"
"NOOOOOOOO!!"
"STOPPPP!!!"
"ARGHHHHHH!!"
The cries and tears were accompanied by the sudden twisting of all the limbs of the six people. Under the eyes of everyone, those limbs twisted and soon burst into blood and flesh, raining down upon the watching crowd. It was brutal. It was painful. It was savage from every angle it could be seen. Students felt disgusted, and even teachers with strong stomachs felt a pinch in their nerves.
’One more second left.’
With that thought, Austin didn’t wait any longer. With one last sight, the world could see and understand that the main parts of all six men burst apart like blood. This time, every single one watching felt a tingle up their spines, almost crossing their legs from pure instinct and terror.
And with that, the powers faded away. The six bodies fell from the sky, landing with a heavy thud on the ground. To the watching world, the power around Austin faded away, and his original looks were revealed, seemingly looking like the tortured form of the hero that was just being mentioned by the world right now.
"How DARE YOU?!"
’Sigh... here come all the consequences.’
...
Austin POV:
"How DARE YOU?!"
The rage and shock in the voice were clear as one of the affected Imperials directly applied his pressure toward my body, making me shake and lose focus as I almost kneeled, the keyword being almost, as another wave of pressure came out and cancelled it. This wave came from Mira, who dealt with the attack from one of the protectors.
"What is the meaning of this, Dean?"
The protector asked.
"I would ask the same of you. Why pressure a student like this so fast? Let’s see and analyse the situation first."
Mira said in a cool voice, but that wasn’t working at all. There were literally six people on the ground, half-dead and crying out of their minds. Torture right in front of students, teachers, and the most powerful people in the academy. There was no way out of this with a simple explanation.
"All the laws our academy has stood for have been broken right in front of you all. Torture and almost execution-like acts were done, and you want me to be calm?!"
The protector roared. I could see the veins running up the dude’s neck, and I smiled, though as I did, I suddenly coughed.
"Cough... cough!"
Holding my mouth as I coughed, lines of blood came out. My body swayed lightly, looking weak overall.
"Austin!"
Mira shouted in worry as she held me, using her mana to try to inspect if I was alright. Her focus and worry were only on me, pushing everything else deep within her mind, but that didn’t make things better for the rest of the watchers.
’Pussies.’
They could have reacted the moment I appeared outside, but being smart, they knew that level was not something anyone could touch. So the moment my power went back to looking normal and weak, they reacted. A bunch of old people who seemed to know their limits, not wanting to risk anything at all.
I kept coughing for some more time, waving my hand at Mira that I was fine, while the world watched. Those protectors wanted to react and pull me away, but they couldn’t. Any fight that happened now would be catastrophic. Hence, Imperials didn’t easily move into combat, though their patience was also running out.
"I am fine... I am fine..."
I finally said, wiping away the blood from my mouth. I was still weak as Mira held me by my side, and before I could talk, a call rang out.
"Brother!"
Elda came rushing to my side. Even though I told her to stay in the room, seeing my state, pure worry and fear filled her eyes as she reached me and came to my side. The rest watching didn’t stop her. To them, it felt like the whole world paused due to the situation.
"I am fine,"
I said with a weak smile as I patted Elda’s head. She caught the rest of my side and held me tight, her expression full of worry and self-blame. Seeing this, Mira, still supporting me with a worried look, looked at Elda and asked,
"What happened?"
Her words pulled Elda out of staring at me with worry. She focused on Mira, then looked at the six figures on the ground, now getting treated. A barrier-like situation covered the area as everyone else was pushed away. Only the protectors and the strongest teachers remained, all of them wondering what the hell was going on.
"Go on, tell them,"
I spoke in a weak voice. My words gave Elda the courage she needed. Gathering herself, she started to speak, her words flowing smoothly, filled with each correct detail of what happened. The more she spoke, the more the expressions of everyone gathered twisted, especially Mira’s, which soon turned demonic, no joke at all.
"They dare!"
Mira shouted with pure rage as all the mana around her started to tremble and twist, shifting like some monster was unleashed. The helpers were quickly pushed away as single small pinpricks of needles started to drill toward the six people, who barely got any refuge as they screamed and trembled on the ground. That was quickly thrown away as one of the protectors waved her hand and spoke.
"Don’t act on emotions here. We need to settle the truth. What she said is both frightening and something that will destroy our reputation. We need to clarify the truth. For all we saw was Student Austin’s torture and his power that seemed beyond our scope. The most suspicious one here is Austin himself."
’These old fogies. They want to know how I reached levels they can’t even dream of touching.’
It was unfair indeed to everyone else, working so hard to reach where they are, while all I had to do was crush a stone and unleash powers far beyond what anyone in the normal range could hope to get.
"Cough... here you go."
I said as I carefully took the hairpin from Elda’s hair. Slowly, I removed it, then took out a recording stone. I tapped the hairpin against it three times, causing the recording stone to shine with a bright light before shutting down. Holding the stone in my hand, I looked at everyone gathered around me, a ruthless and cold look in my eyes as I spoke.
"Here is all the proof you will need. A recording of the events that started the moment Elda was protected. And if that isn’t enough, to any good investigator, the arrangement of the room, the seals, and the barriers will more than show enough proof to support the words of my sister."
My words sounded like divine judgment. If the recording stone showed everything I said, it can show that there will be nothing more than can be said, not to mention the proof of everything needed lay in the room like an open book, which means the full-blown consequences of everything will soon connect everywhere.
"They will pay even more for what they did."
I said, my words sounding strong, though before I could say anything else, my eyes grew tired, my body hot, and I soon fainted away.
"Brother!"
"Austin!"
The sounds of Elda and Mira calling me out were the last of the words heard.
