The Conquerors Path

Chapter 980 - 978-Actions, Reaction And Consequences.

Chapter 980: Chapter 978-Actions, Reaction And Consequences.

Third Person POV:

The whole world was in turmoil once again!

This wasn’t just a simple tumult this time—this was an earth-shattering one. The academy, the safest place that should be, a place where the students should have felt safe, a place that should be the leading light of the world, a place like that had failed to keep itself in the light. The disgusting darkness of the world had taken over it.

A student, a famous, gentle, and in a way celebrity-like student, was almost abducted, and unspeakable evil was almost fallen upon her. Something that was to be done to her by the very teachers who were supposed to protect her. There was nothing more of a failure than that. It was the biggest failure of the academy, and a big letdown to the whole world.

How could anyone be expected to send their child to the academy if even the teachers couldn’t be trusted?

The question hung like a blade over the world.

But even then, at the tip of every tongue was still Austin Lionheart. Previously, he sounded more like the younger rising hero, and this time, he did something so mind-blowing that even when spoken by the most trusted of sources, the world couldn’t even believe their ears. It was a scene so absurd that it almost looked like it came out of a fairy tale.

Something like the tales of a legend—that was what the truth felt like. A fairy tale.

Austin Lionheart had won publicly against the juggernaut of the generation, not with mana, not with any techniques, but in a traditional match of just pure strength. This itself would have sent shockwaves down upon anyone who had heard it, but that was not the end of it at all. No, the truth of Austin overcoming an impossible challenge and dominating was the most normal of the things he did.

From then on, it only looked like a story that could not even be believed. The whole of the archery association came together to take down the archery tower. Everything was arranged, the laws were gathered, and every place was set up tightly. The law, the truth, everything was on the side of the war council. They had done this a lot of times before, and this wouldn’t be the last time they would be trying something like this, either.

But this time, it backfired. It backfired so spectacularly that it brought shame to the war council more than to the academy.

Austin Lionheart.

The Austin Lionheart, just a young man on the threshold of turning 19, had beaten up all of the guards that were about the range of Origin level 10 and had even beaten up their strongest force of Imperial realm elders.

Sounds like a fantasy, right? But this time it wasn’t!

The scene was recorded. The scene was seen by journalists. There was undeniable proof everywhere. There was nothing that could be said against it. If that were all, then Austin wouldn’t have landed as the hero in this story. No, Austin didn’t just beat them all up. He ripped off their face and revealed the hypocrisy hidden underneath the war council. They had gone in, swords bristling, with the fact that corruption was found in the archery association, when corruption was thriving within themselves.

Austin, like a legend, had revealed such warmth that all the corruption hidden within many parts was revealed, even within the guards of the war council. Several powerful organisations had to make a move at the same time. Powerful elders from their families and organisations had to rush out from their own seclusion to deal with this. With a single move, Austin had shown the corruption that was growing under the nose of everyone who had become complacent due to the peace.

The world was in even bigger turmoil. Being praised as a hero, Austin showed the world a weakness they wouldn’t deny anymore. With a single move from him, everything changed. The whole world changed. Powers were forced to move. The war council lost its face and its value, for even under their command, the corruption had grown this much. Something which had faded into legend had grown right under their nose.

It became even clearer that they weren’t doing their job right. Voices were raised, screams were heard, and the factions that were suffering under the war council rose. They added the flames to fire, and with the move that Austin had set in place, the war council was stuck. Their greed was ripped open, their mistakes were there to see, and no matter how much they wanted to hide it, it was too out in the open.

Thus, they all had to make a move. The war council had to pay the highest price for it—the price for false accusation against the archery association, which surprisingly didn’t have any members who drew red of corruption.

Among everyone, the one that maintained the best reputation, one that got the biggest boost in prestige and power, was the archery association itself. There was no denying it. They shot up from the middle rankings of power and respite to the very top, not to mention that Austin belonged to them.

The one that should have taken the fall for it rose higher than anyone could, and any organisation wanting to show that not all was fallen had to even praise the archery association with them. Even the war council had to praise them.

And the war council had to make their move, and they had to make it fast. They rushed into action. Thanks to Austin’s action, a lot came to the surface. The ones that were shown had to be taken into custody. Questions and answers needed to be found. The war council had already lost its face and along with it quite a significant amount of the power and control they had, so they had to do everything right by the word this time, because this time, the whole world was watching tightly, and they were waiting for one mistake after which they could rip into the war council like a bunch of hyenas.

The war council pulled all the stops. They got the best ones to come in, used their powers, set up records, and for once acted like how they were created for, without any stop and prejudice. It felt like the whole world had come together for this, and the war council even had to praise the action of Austin, praising him even higher as a hero. God knew what their true heart was like when they had to do this.

For the first time in a long time, the war council had lost everything. Their prestige, their control, their blessings, their reason to keep control over the several powers in the world—all of this under the hands of a young man who was just reaching the age of 19.

One can only wonder what that would have felt like, the depth of their anger that fills them. To many, the situation brought chills and goosebumps to them. It felt more like the true story of a hero, ones that rise when the world falls into trouble, the feelings of a true legend on the rise. But that wasn’t the end of Austin’s actions. He did more.

During the time he showed the veil to the world, evil was trying to hurt his family, his little sister. Teachers who should have protected Elda, who should be the guiding light of the students, came together and created the plan to kidnap Elda, along with two students. No one knew the true reasons why it was to be done, but it was still almost done.

A pure, innocent girl would have been taken away by the darkness of the world, but even then, Austin had stopped it.

When she was attacked, Austin had felt it. With the last vestiges of the majestic power Austin had taken in, he moved, ripping through the spatial protection of the academy that had never been defeated as he came to the rescue of his dear family, and along with it came anger and vengeance.

Under the eyes of the whole academy, Austin showed them all what it meant to hurt his family, what it meant to target the one he loves. At that moment, Austin Lionheart wasn’t the hero. He wasn’t the sweet guy everybody knew. He was a demon, an executioner, a simple man taking revenge against the ones who dared to raise their hand.

His cruel actions were seen and recorded by many, but none dared to say anything against them. None could even begin to say anything against it. After everything Austin had done, nobody could say what he did was overboard, and nobody else could have said that they wouldn’t have done the same in that situation themselves.

Thus, the legend was etched into the heart of this world’s history, the legend of how a single young man, within just the space of an hour, had done things that changed the trajectory of the world and brought the whole world into action. And by now, close to a week had passed from the incidents, and even then, Austin’s name was on the tongue of everybody.

The majority is asking the same question: what was Austin up to now?
