The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System

Chapter 922 - Doom

Chapter 922 - Doom

Inside the most secret chamber of the Celestial Orthodox Martial Alliance, thirteen figures had gathered.

The room lay buried beneath layer upon layer of soundproofing. No sound entered. No sound escaped.

The air was still and cold, carrying a faint scent of old incense and damp stone.

A few spirit lamps floated above the circular black jade table at the center of the room. Their soft light fell across the faces of those present and left the corners of the chamber shrouded in darkness.

The first among them occupied the seat of honor—a golden throne that stood out from every other seat around the table. It was Long Tianjin.

The golden dragon sat with his arms crossed, his cold gaze sweeping slowly over those present.

Around him sat the leaders of the three greatest families and the nine greatest sects of the orthodox world.

The twelve were Celestial Emperors at the height of their power, the strongest and proudest figures in all of the Celestial Heaven.

Each of them was the kind of being who could set foot on any planet and make its rulers kneel without a second thought.

Yet in Tianjin's presence, every one of them behaved with the utmost decorum.

The main reason for this was quite simple.

They knew that even if all twelve of them joined forces against Tianjin at once, he would defeat them in fewer than thirty exchanges of blows.

That was how much of an aberration Tianjin was.

Many said he was just one step away from matching his ancestor's strength. Others swore he had already surpassed it.

Dragons were fearsome beings by nature. So the twelve kept their pride intact on the surface, masking their submission behind politeness.

One of the twelve finally broke the silence.

"Have you already chosen the planet where the war between the younger generations will take place?" he asked. "I've heard that young man, Long Qingyi, has already completed his advancement to the realm of the Star Sovereign. Which star did he awaken?"

He was the leader of the Zhang Family, one of the Three Great Families.

A man with an easy smile and fingers covered in rings. His eyes held a pragmatic glint, and he looked far more like a merchant than a warrior.

He was powerful for his cultivation stage, but that power came mainly from his wealth and the countless primordial-grade artifacts he carried with him.

The sect leaders, with the exception of the leader of the Celestial Derivation Sect, were all entirely focused on combat arts. Compared to them, the three heads of the great families were merely mediocre.

Rich and influential, but weak.

"The planet has already been chosen." Tianjin gave a slight nod. "KP745 is its name. An isolated planet with high spiritual density but no civilized life. It lies near the border between the two factions, and we already have contingency plans in place in case the demonic forces attempt any ambush."

He paused briefly, his cold eyes resting on Leader Zhang.

"As for Qingyi… I haven't asked him yet which star he awakened. And that will remain a secret for now."

The leader of the Zhang Family did not question those words. He simply smiled and inclined his head.

Qingyi had proven his power when he killed a Celestial General, and many already saw him as the future of the orthodox world.

As for his connection to Long Wujin, the former Dragon God of Corruption, that had already been all but forgotten.

Saving the Divine Sword Fairy and returning countless lost artifacts had made him an orthodox hero.

Many of those who had once harbored genuine hatred toward him had since turned that hatred into nothing more than caution.

"In any case, I want you to prepare disciples and elders with a cultivation level suitable for combat against the main demonic force," Tianjin continued, his tone unchanged.

"At least a few hundred million. Enough to hold off the demonic forces should they decide to go beyond the war among the younger generation. The Alliance is already preparing its own combat force as well, just as the demons are preparing theirs."

A few of the leaders exchanged glances across the table.

"Do you really believe the Heavenly Demon will dare to escalate this into an all-out war?" one of the leaders of the Nine Great Sects asked, his deep voice echoing through the chamber. "Why so many contingency plans?"

He was a man with dark skin and hair as black as night, his powerful arms crossed over his chest.

On his back he carried a gigantic saber with a serrated blade, so large that its hilt rose well above his head. His eyes were like burning amber.

That was the Supreme Saber Emperor, the most powerful saber user in the entire orthodox world.

"The Heavenly Demon knows that if he dishonors the demon world by breaking an agreement like this, he will lose all the support he has among the most conservative and powerful demon leaders," he continued without uncrossing his arms. "No one wants to get into a long, costly, and senseless war."

Tianjin did not respond.

Instead, he slowly turned his face toward the Sage of the Nine Paths, the current leader of the Celestial Derivation Sect.

One by one, the others followed his gaze.

That man was the main reason they had gathered in this chamber.

Recently, he had read the fate of the Heavenly Demon and uncovered a terrible secret.

And the price had been high. His soul had suffered terrible damage, and his immortal, endless life would now last no more than a hundred or two hundred years unless he found some sacred medicine.

Just a few months ago, he had worn the face of a man in his thirties.

Now, he looked to be in his eighties.

His hair had turned white and thin, his skin clung to the bones of his face, and his hands trembled without pause against the cold jade of the table.

The sage pressed both hands against the table and slowly pushed himself up, his entire body shaking with the effort. The scrape of his chair sounded unnaturally loud in the sealed chamber. It took him several seconds just to get to his feet.

When his voice finally came out, it was even weaker than he looked.

"The Heavenly Demon is doom… blessed by doom… death to all."

With that, he sank back into his seat, his gaze lost somewhere on the tabletop, as if he had already forgotten what he had just said.

Puzzled expressions settled over every face around the table.

No one said anything for a long moment.

They had expected something more direct, but the leader of the Celestial Derivation Sect had suffered considerable cognitive damage after attempting to read the Heavenly Demon's fate. That was the most he could offer.

Even so, those few words were enough for everyone to take Tianjin much more seriously.

One of the greatest seers of the Celestial Heaven had looked into the Heavenly Demon's future and returned in that state—broken, aged, and babbling about doom.

They had to deal with the Heavenly Demon.
