The Cry of the Phoenix Which Reached the Ninth Heaven

Volume 1 Chapter 12

Chapter 12: Framed You, So What?

The bow-like first quarter moon was covered by the dense clouds, the night scene was like thick ink, deep and undispersible. When Yao Mo Wan and Ting Yue got to the firewood room’s entrance, Liu Xing had already been waiting there for quite some time.

“Miss, this servant has already used money to have them leave Gao momo a breath of life.” Liu Xing saw that it was Yao Mo Wan and immediately moved up to meet her.

High Mo Mo is now Gao momo. Momo is like the title for servant positions held by old women. Gao is the servant’s name. Originally I thought ‘gao’ was an indication of her status, but due to the appearance of another momo in this chapter, I realized I was wrong.

“You two wait outside.” Yao Mo Wan slightly nodded, then opened the door and walked in. Outside, Ting Yue questioningly looked towards Liu Xing.

“Didn’t Miss hate Gao momo to death, why would she leave her alive?”

“I don’t know either, but what Miss says to do, I will do.” Liu Xing solemnly vowed.

After Yao Mo Wan walked into the firewood room she closed the door firmly behind her and slowly walked towards the oil lamp, lighting the candle. Borrowing the candle’s light, Yao Mo Wan was shocked to see Gao momo‘s current condition of being covered with blood, half dead yet alive, lying on the rice straw pile groaning with pain. Her hair was burned by fire until it was sallow like withered grass, clusters of lash marks were on her body, pus and blood mixed with torn flesh covered her clothes, and her face that was branded by the iron looked utterly sinister.

“How could they bear to beat momo to this point? Could it be that they didn’t find out that the lotus seed soup didn’t have poison?” Yao Mo Wan indifferently walked to Gao momo‘s side, slowly crouching down and started to speak as if distressed.

When she heard Yao Mo Wan’s voice, Gao momo‘s consciousness was dimly roused for a moment.

“No poison……if the lotus seed soup didn’t have poison, why would the dog die?” This was the sentence that Xing momo had repeatedly asked her in the Purgatory Room.

“Of course it was first poisoned by someone else then released into the main hall. That lotus root soup was simmered with ginseng and young deer antler to add flavor, even humans love it, let alone dogs?” Yao Mo Wan gently spoke and patiently explained.

“Yes…… it definitely is, incriminated…… I was wrongly incriminated! I beg you, go tell lao ye I was wrongly incriminated…… Third Miss…… Why is it you? You’re the one that harmed me!” Gao momo raised her eyes in pleasant surprise, but when she saw Yao Mo Wan, malevolence filled her eyes and she fiercely gripped Yao Mo Wan’s sleeve with both hands.

“Yes, I’m the one that harmed you. I deliberately said you were loyal to your old master in front of Dou Xiang Lan, and that you left me a road to escape and even gave me money. It was also I that had Liu Xing poison the dog to frame you, so what? Even if you were not currently incapable of moving a step, even if I allowed you to crawl to Dou Xiang Lan’s foot, she still has to believe you for it to be of any use.” Yao Mo Wan’s cherry lips faintly pouted, her gaze seemed harmless as she looked at Gao momo.

“You’re vicious! I’ll kill you!” From the start Gao momo was at her last breath, now her anger attacked her heart and fresh blood abruptly rushed out of her mouth.

“I’m vicious? Gao momo has really gradually forgotten, who was it that poisoned my mother’s medical soup, letting her die with grievances! Who was it that sold me into Fragrant Harmony Courtyard, letting me suffer insults! And who was it that hung Ting Yue up here to be brutally beaten, almost causing her to lose her life! This stack, these things, I’m afraid even if you enter the 18th level of hell you still won’t be able to pay back!” The clear cold pupils seemed covered with frost, Yao Mo Wan coldly brushed aside her sleeve and indifferently stood up.

“You …… Who are you?” Gao momo‘s eyes opened wide and round, disbelievingly looking towards Yao Mo Wan.

“Doesn’t momo recognize me anymore? I’m Mo Wan ah!” Yao Mo Wan suddenly curled her lips into a slight smile, her beautiful eyes flickering with harmless radiance.

“Impossible! You’re not! You’re not that idiot…… who in the world are you?” Just as Gao momo started raging her grievances, Yao Mo Wan had already taken out a package of ‘La Yan Sand’ powder and slowly started sprinkling it onto Gao momo‘s wounds.

“La Yan Sand” is a highly toxic colorless and tasteless poison that appears in legends, wuxia novels and movies.

“Who I am, you’ll know soon……” Yao Mo Wan indifferently looked at the Gao momo who was struggling desperately on the straw pile. Her face was inscrutable, not a trace of emotion could be seen.

“Everything I did was on Big Madam’s orders…… I deserve to die, but Big Madam…… deserves to even more……” Gao momo used her last strength and finally spoke her unwillingness.

“So I’ll let her live a life-worse-than-death……” The broken cold sound seemed like that of a demon’s as it swept upwards in the firewood room, echoing for a long time before dissipating.

After Yao Mo Wan left the firewood room, Gao momo had already stopped breathing.

“Burn the firewood room.” Yao Mo Wan looked towards Liu Xing who was waiting outside and indifferently ordered.

“Miss, but Gao momo has already died.” Liu Xing spoke, puzzled.

“But I want to have her bones crushed ashes scattered, what’s to be done?” Yao Mo Wan paused her steps, her clear as water pupils gradually chilled.

“Liu Xing will do it right away.” Liu Xing fiercely nodded and turned to leave immediately.

The night was quiet and cool, cold as ice. On the way back to Opaque Flower Pavilion, Ting Yue wanted to say something several times, but in the end didn’t speak.

“Ting Yue, you must remember, when facing the devil, we must be even more vicious than the devil in order to continue living. To eradicate evil completely, understand?” Yao Mo Wan suddenly stopped and turned her eyes to look at Ting Yue.

“This servant…… understands.” Ting Yue nodded, confused.

“Ting Yue, if you don’t agree with my methods, I can give you some money and let you leave.” Yao Mo Wan didn’t blame Ting Yue. It was not possible to make someone who had not gone through the painful experiences she had understand her bitter anguish, but she could not leave someone that would question her at her side.

“In Ting Yue’s eyes, whatever Miss does is right! In the future, as long as Miss orders it, Ting Yue will not hesitate even if she has to sacrifice this life!” Every word, every sentence of Ting Yue’s was powerful and resounded.
