The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 504: Quick Battle

Chapter 504: Quick Battle

"I’m going to kill her... now." Zhita’hna says coldly, beating her wings as she rises and surges toward me. She begins to spin her body almost like a drill as she advances.

I dodge, but hundreds of feathers shoot out like blades. A few graze my cheek, and I see they’re razor-sharp. She tries to repeat the motion on her return, her feathers now moving like guided missiles homing in on me.

I use Dematerialization. She and her feathers pass right through my body. But I deactivate it the moment she finishes passing through, grabbing her leg and stopping her mid-air. I spin sharply and drive an elbow, breaking her leg as I yank her toward me and land a heavy punch right in her face.

"COME ON!! KILL ME THEN, BITCH!" I say, full of arrogance, throwing thousands of punches into her face. She moves a wing, slicing my arm clean off and creating distance. Then, with a wingbeat, she unleashes a massive blast of magic.

Using Shadow Dance, I slip into the darkness and appear behind her, punching her in the back. She reacts by slashing my stomach with her claws. But unlike her, I can’t keep regenerating—I can. I regenerate from her blows with ease.

"...!!" I fly back, putting distance between us as thousands of blade-like feathers advance. I generate a mana barrier to protect myself. She uses that opening to charge in with a flying kick from her good leg, shattering my barrier.

I barely dodge, grabbing her other leg this time. I bite down, tearing it off, focusing on counterattacks that exploit her own speed.

"..." With her other leg broken, she slices deeply into my face—which regenerates. My regeneration has improved massively since I gained so many levels. So, while regeneration isn’t something that guarantees I’ll always survive, I use it as a trump card. Sacrificing a limb for a chance to attack is worth the risk.

"Is that all you’ve got? Hahahahaha!" I shamelessly devour her leg. She snarls at me and flies high, really high, then accelerates downward in a dive—exactly as I knew she would. After watching her hunt monsters, I know almost all her attacks are swift, committed strikes.

14=Charm - Causes an attraction effect, making the sight of your body tempting.

15=Seduction - Affects the target, causing a seduction effect based on your image. The more beautiful and seductive the user, the stronger the effect.

16=Lust Induction – Magic that amplifies the target’s lust.

I use three active skills on her at once—the same three I used on Mikael in the past to get him... excited. And as expected, the bird-girl’s movement wavers mid-dive.

For a dive-focused enemy who relies on fast attacks, a millisecond of hesitation is enough to ruin their strike.

In a quick motion, I reach her, grabbing her face. I slam her down hard against the giant monster’s corpse, then pin her to the ground and start flying, accelerating while grinding her body against the terrain as fast as I can.

She struggles as her body is violently scraped against the ground, her wings shattering. But she still reacts, using a claw from her wing to slash my neck. I let go, backing away while placing a hand on my neck.

’My mana armor... Tsk...’ She rises from the ground, spreading her wings—covered in blood, bones all broken. Tears in her eyes as blood drips to the ground. Serious damage.

"I should have blown your head off," I murmur, seeing what she’s starting to do. She’s emanating a huge amount of magic. She’s realized she might die, and when a monster realizes that, it does the obvious: decides to use everything, to stop holding back its power. Monsters usually conserve their strength for future fights.

"..." I brace myself. Her entire body regenerates almost instantly. She’s coating herself in so much magic she seems to shine, her aura like golden flames.

Her size increases slightly. Her muscles tighten, becoming stronger, solid, and defined. The whites of her eyes turn completely black, while her pupils begin to glow blood-red—literally, you can see the veins in her eyes pumping blood abnormally into the pupils.

The feathers on her wings sharpen, taking on a more metallic hue as the wings grow to nearly double their previous size. Then she vanishes. I barely evade a diving strike from above, leaping back as her leg hits the ground and everything explodes.

The energy released by the impact and magic damages me as she charges straight at me. I defend with my hands, but her feathers slice deep into my right shoulder blade. They try to cut me in half, but I kick upward and strike with my tail, forcing her back.

"[Thousand Swords]." When she uses this magic, thousands of cuts appear all over my body in an instant. The damage is so massive and rapid that even my current regeneration can barely keep up, slowing down because the injuries are so widespread.

’I didn’t see the attack...’ I leap backward, but she’s already in front of me, trying to slash me with her claws. I use my tail to jump over her and grab her neck, but before I can squeeze, she severs my tail.

’Without Pandora Yandere and Pandora Monster handling the magic and the Partial Form, it’s much harder.’ I bite my lip. I can win, but I’ll need some time first.

I can’t focus on regenerating and controlling mana with mastery simultaneously. Doing both reduces efficiency. Before, I could do both at maximum efficiency with their support in my head.

"..." She backs away and starts flying, circling me at extreme speed. Her wings cut violently through everything in their path as she gets faster each second, until I see only a blur.

When my instincts scream, I sink into the ground within the shadows, narrowly avoiding decapitation by her dive. I use the darkness to form spikes, but her impact against them just slices them apart.

’She’s using all her magic to defend... so she needs to finish me quickly, or she’ll start exhausting herself...’ I get it. She’s bet everything on killing me before she burns out.

So I just need to wait. At some point, exhaustion will lock her in place. If I’m still alive by then, I win.

"...Is that all? Kind of pathetic, you know," I say, emerging from the shadows and creating various shadow monsters to aid me. She charges at me without a word, spinning like a typhoon and firing feathers everywhere. I change the Texture of the entire environment so everything seems made of rubber, causing the feathers to ricochet back at her.

With a large barrier, I halt her charge, sensing how her mana is burning—like pouring gasoline on a fire already blazing strong. Unfortunately, the shadow monsters die easily to her feathers in the environment.

She shatters my barrier with her claws and tries to hit me, but using Dematerialization, I pass right through her and slash her back with a move I copied from her.

The enhanced Pure Mana Armor she uses to kill monsters with her claws... seems it’s very effective against her, too.

"...Ugh!" She delivers a "punch," and her mana is so dense it acts like poison, filling my lungs until they expand and burst. I spit blood, but she gives me no time, striking my chest and grabbing hold.

She drives her claws in, closing them inside as they sink into the flesh, gripping. She pulls, tearing out a large part of my torso along with my heart.

I try to react, but she slams me violently against the ground, pinning me in place. Then she spreads her wings, gathering a huge mass of magic to fire. I snarl at her, realizing that if this hits me, I’ll die.

"[Demon King’s Gravitational Pressure]." I use this incredibly useful magic. The extra weight forces her whole body down, and that’s enough for me. I gather saliva and spit on her.

"[Explosive Life], [Explosive Life]." My blood in the saliva explodes in front of us. Using the smoke as cover, I employ Dematerialization and Shadow Dance to escape as she attacks. Her mana blast is so insanely powerful it instantly carves a giant hole in the ground.

"...D-Dammit..." She looks at me angrily, calling me a damn thing. Meanwhile, my body begins to regenerate, but the damage was still massive, and my regeneration is now slower and less precise.

"Hahahaha, yes, I really am a damnable being," I say, finishing my regeneration as she settles into a fighting stance. But it’s obvious she spent a lot on that last attack.

"Tick, tock. You have five minutes until all your magic drains. So come on, let’s see who ends up dead." I remember the humiliation of having to restrain myself, clean her house, give her my milk, all while avoiding anything that might make her kill me.

I was weak, so I had to do it. But now that I have enough power to be a relatively strong being in the Abyss, the euphoria and adrenaline make me act like the wild monster I am.

Now that I have the power to protect myself from her, any submission has died. I don’t need to be so servile anymore.

"I-I should have killed you when I first saw you." She flies high, lamenting that mistake. She knows she can’t escape now; all that’s left is to fight. I smile at her.

"Yeah, you should have." I would have killed. If I were in her place, seeing an enemy who smells dangerous, who I know has the potential to kill me, and who holds no loyalty to me—I’d kill them. That’s the basic safety any monster can ensure.

"You were greedy. That was your mistake... You saw something tasty and, instead of killing it quickly, you wanted to see where it led." She fell to gluttony, and gluttony I understand well. She sensed I’d taste good, and that made her overthink instead of bringing about my end.

"Now are you really going to stall by talking? You have four minutes and thirty-four seconds left." At my words, she charges at me.
