Chapter 685: The Conflict
Chapter 685: The Conflict
"Lycoris!!! You ate everything again!!" Azazel screams at me while I’m crouched over a pool of blood, crushing some bones with my teeth.
"Oh, come on, Azazel... I’m just hungry, leave me alone." Here she goes again, complaining about the food.
"Leave you alone? You wipe out all the food and you want me to leave you alone?!! We’ve been stockpiling this food for weeks and you keep finishing it before we can gather enough for when the weather turns cold!!" Azazel points at me, tearing into me.
"I already told you I was hungry!! Besides, I hunted most of this!!"
"Liar!! You already ate everything you hunted!! This food was hunted by me and our other sisters, you bitch!"
"What did you say?"
"You heard me!! You’re a filthy, disgusting whore! Aqua’s stupid little bitch who only knows how to spread her legs for her and wait for orders!"
"Take that back!!" I rise from the pool of blood, tossing the bones aside as I point at her with hatred.
"Make me take it back!" The moment she says that, Sister Aqua and Sister Eclipsya arrive, carrying a giant monster they killed together.
"What’s going on here?" Aqua asks in a cold tone. She’s gotten a lot stronger, so her voice carries an authority that didn’t exist in the past.
"It’s your little girlfriend slut who wiped out our entire food supply! You know damn well that when the weather turns cold, the food will drop off a lot!" Azazel speaks to Aqua, grinding her teeth.
"Watch how you talk about Lycoris! Have you lost your mind? She can eat whatever she wants — it’s just food, we can always find more. No need for all this fighting over something so stupid, it’s not like we’re going to starve to death." When Aqua says that, Azazel snarls at her.
"Don’t forget that in the past we all survived because you were devouring my body!! You think I enjoyed that? If we run out of food again, I’d have to repeat that in an emergency!! All because this bitch doesn’t know how to shut her mouth!!" Azazel shouts at Aqua.
"That’s enough — do you want to die?" Aqua drops the monster and goes up to Azazel, who doesn’t back down.
"You think you can take me?"
"Hey, Aqua, what the hell do you think you’re doing?" Eclipsya steps in, getting in front of Aqua.
"Control your girlfriend. If she keeps insulting mine, we’re going to have a serious problem here. You know perfectly well that Lycoris needs a lot of food and that she’s the strongest one here."
"She’s the one who brought in the hardest meals to hunt. She has every right to eat as much as she wants. If it weren’t for her, we wouldn’t even have the chance to stockpile all this food in the first place."
"Besides, Azazel also eats excessively. It might be less than Lycoris, but Azazel alone eats almost five times the amount I eat, and almost eight times the amount you eat." Aqua speaks, shoving Eclipsya to make her back off.
"...That doesn’t matter right now, Aqua! Azazel is right — how can we have a stockpile if Lycoris eats everything? She doesn’t even need all that food!! She ate in a few hours enough food to last almost four months!!"
"..." Azazel keeps glaring at me while Aqua and Eclipsya argue.
"What are you looking at?" I mutter, approaching the carcass that Aqua and Eclipsya brought. When I touch the carcass to drag it away, I feel a sharp, mild pain. I look at my back and see a blood knife embedded in my wings.
"..." I look at Azazel, incredulous.
"Don’t touch that. I bet a starving mutt like you will eat it all the moment someone looks away! You should—"
CRACK
Before Azazel can react, I throw a punch that blows her head apart. Pieces of her brain and skull scatter throughout our cave that we use as a storage room.
"...!!!?" Eclipsya looks at me in shock before fixing me with pure hatred. She points at me, firing a spell that pierces my arm. Seeing that, Aqua punches Eclipsya in the face, slamming her against the wall.
Azazel quickly regenerates, staring at me with hatred, but she attacked me first!! I just gave it back.
"YOU WRETCHED BITCH!! I’M GOING TO END YOU!" Azazel clones herself, screaming at me and creating dozens of copies. I look at her and point one hand, firing a spell beam so massive that all the clones are vaporized along with the cave, completely opening up the space.
Aqua is beating on Eclipsya, who is trying to fight back, while Azazel regenerates.
"This—" Before Azazel can say another word, I charge at her, using magic to reinforce my body, and bite into her neck. My teeth sink deep, tearing through flesh and bone as I apply a venom spell that halts regeneration — one I recently learned how to make.
"U-Urgh!" Azazel drives her hand through my stomach and pulls out my entrails, but I don’t tear away from her before I’ve ripped out a large chunk of her. She staggers backward, gasping, unable to regenerate.
"AZAZEL!!" Eclipsya screams desperately, charging at me with eyes of pure hatred and murderous intent. My body regenerates from the wound as I charge a quarter of my magic into my fist and throw a punch with all my strength into Eclipsya’s head, cratering her into the ground.
The punch triggers earthquakes all around us as Aqua uses magic to pierce Eclipsya’s stomach from below with water lances. Eclipsya, nearly knocked out, has no time to react.
But before things escalate further, Azazel uses a spell, triggering a blood explosion that fills the entire place completely into a pool of blood. She grabs Eclipsya and flees through the blood, vanishing from my "biological radar" — escaped.
"Aqua, are you okay?" I run to Aqua, who took a very serious wound to the chest.
"I’m... you... you’re hurt." Aqua looks with sadness at the severe wound on my belly.
"It’s fine, I can regenerate from this... no problem... I-I’m sorry I caused trouble..." I start crying because it’s my fault she got hurt. If I just ate less, none of this would have happened.
"Shh, it’s okay, it’s okay... take a deep breath... I’m fine. We don’t need those two bitches... we only need each other... let’s... let’s leave this place! Let’s build a kingdom on our own! We don’t need to stay in this forest anymore... and we certainly won’t need those two who attacked us." She speaks, hugging me gently.
"W-Whatever you want, sister." I just accept what she wants.
"Eating too much isn’t a problem! You’re the strongest one here! You protected us so many times! Those two are just ungrateful, filthy wretches who forgot that when we were weak in this forest, you were the shield and the spear that kept us alive."
"I’ll give you all the food you need, so I don’t want you blaming yourself. I didn’t like Eclipsya anyway, truth be told." Aqua lifts me from the ground, starting to carry me as I hug her.
