The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 687: New Kingdoms Part 2

Chapter 687: New Kingdoms Part 2

"...Aqua... you’re so incredible!! How do you know how to do this? It’s marvelous! I can’t believe you did this in just one month!!!" I ask Aqua, mesmerized by the amazing castle she built. The castle was constructed in the exact same place where the old human kingdom used to be.

Apparently, that place held the so-called hero summoning circle, but Mama Pandora already disabled it somehow, so Aqua and I are deciding to build our kingdom atop the ruins of that old kingdom.

The spot is good, it’s empty, and no one owns the territory since no one had the nerve to try and claim the place where Mama Pandora’s enemies used to be — enemies who were almost completely exterminated from the planet!

Using magic all by herself, Aqua built an absurdly elegant, gigantic, and marvelous castle!! It’s almost as big as Mama Pandora’s castle, except this one is made primarily in shades of white and gray.

And its overall structure focuses far more on the outer aesthetic to look "inviting," while Mama’s castle has a more frightening air, as if getting close to it would be a bad idea.

Aqua said it’s better for the castle to look inviting because we don’t have enough authority for people to start living near us like what happened with Mama Pandora, who, having the title of [Demon King], ended up drawing demons to her.

"Yes, yes, Lycoris! I am indeed incredible. I learned to do this from one of Mama Pandora’s daily journals! She explained what she wanted in a castle and described how it should be built! That’s how I learned to make it."

"Unlike that idiot Eclipsya, who ignored Mama Pandora’s amazing journals, I collected as many of them as possible! I bet they’re notes she left to be found, since everything everyone taught her was concrete data instead of focusing on her personal things."

"But regardless of not having many personal things of hers, her governance data was very interesting! I know I’ll be able to build an incredible kingdom for the two of us!" She says with a sweet smile on her face that makes me blush and my tail thump against the ground eagerly.

"Now let’s focus on what matters! We just need to build part of the kingdom and get people to come live here! We don’t need to build the whole kingdom, just the castle and twenty percent of the rest of the kingdom will be enough," Aqua speaks with extreme confidence.

"...Aqua, do you think Azazel and Eclipsya are okay?" I ask her, shifting the subject a little. After our fight, I never heard anything about them again. I don’t even know if they stayed alive, though I’m sure they did — Azazel had great regeneration, and Eclipsya could heal herself from her wounds.

"I don’t know, and I honestly don’t care! Those bitches don’t deserve your concern. If they weren’t such useless bitches, none of this would have happened! Their ingratitude disgusts me!!" Aqua’s face twists into a grimace of rage just from talking about them. Aqua clearly holds a grudge against them.

"During our months living in that forest, you were the one who suffered the most! You were the one who hunted most of the strongest enemies, and many of the monsters we hunted were finished off by you. You could say you were practically the shield that protected us as you grew stronger!!"

"Most of the time, Eclipsya and Azazel didn’t even have the power to kill a monster in one go, just like I also didn’t have enough power for that!! And without you, we would have gone without stable food for months. Your help was literally what allowed us to get stronger."

"But they ’forgot’ about that and, simply upon getting stronger, decided you ate too much — which isn’t even fair compared to the fact that you were the one who spent the most magic and got physically hurt, so naturally you needed constant food," she says in an extremely indignant tone.

"It’s okay, Aqua!! I don’t care anymore now." Since we left the Dead Mana Forest, the dangers have dropped drastically, and there aren’t even monsters strong enough to hurt me around here! So I haven’t needed as much food anymore!!

"Now, Aqua, what do we do? Let’s put that aside and focus on the kingdom!! We have a lot to do, right? I really want to see how it turns out! I bet Mama Pandora will be proud!!" I ask her, bouncing just at the thought of Mama Pandora praising us for this!! I hope she has some order for me so I can help her.

"Since we’re taking advantage of the ruins in this place, we should destroy one hundred percent of the debris and leave the houses that aren’t broken as they are so we can give or sell them to new residents," she says, gesturing outside the castle and pointing with her hand at all the wreckage of what was once a kingdom. I nod attentively to everything.

"We also need to build walls in this kingdom! So it would be good if you went to break large rocks and some other materials so I can build a wall! I think starting by breaking and carrying stones from a big mountain will do. Let’s pick some sturdy materials for that."

"Besides that, we also need to handle food. I think I can negotiate with Mama Pandora and her kingdom. I’m sure we can offer something in exchange for food sent on a stable basis!!"

"I doubt Mama Pandora will just give us food reliably — after all, she has to feed the demons and everyone who lives there — but if we offer something good, she’ll accept!! So we’ll have to be bold and have something good for the trade... we just have to think of what that will be..."

"We also need to decide what our kingdom is going to do to earn money, whether it’s transportation, a market, minerals, food — any stable source of income is important!!" Aqua speaks like a true queen.

"Then I’ll go do that!! You just need rocks, right?" I can shatter a mountain with my fists, cut the blocks into cubes with magic, and haul them to this kingdom without a problem.

"Yes, yes, it’s a simple wall. I’ll reinforce it with magic, so even rocks that aren’t that sturdy can still be used at the top of the wall," she nods at me, going back to singing.

With her voice, immense pieces of debris are lifted and crushed into small cubes with violent force. It’s always a pleasure to hear Aqua singing.

’She’s so incredible...’ I kind of miss seeing the mamas. Ever since I had to start living my life "alone," I ended up not seeing them anymore, but having Aqua with me is wonderful.

"I’m heading out then, Aqua!! I’ll be back in two days!!" I say to her with a wave while she just gives a nod, focusing on what she’s doing. I start flying, thrilled about the future.
