The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1809: Jackals chasing a wounded lion

Chapter 1809: Jackals chasing a wounded lion

When the Prima Deities first saw the Abyssal Wall erected by Cain, they were briefly surprised at such an ingenious manipulation of destructive energy. Nevertheless, cold smiles filled with murderous intent quickly returned to their faces, convinced that no matter how sturdy this barrier was, it would inevitably crumble under their combined barrage of explosive attacks.

Unfortunately for them, they had severely underestimated the true capabilities of the Abyssal Wall.

As the flood of devastating attacks collided with the barrier, it didn’t merely resist—it reflected their strikes right back at them! Shock and horror quickly replaced the Prima Deities’ confidence, their eyes widening in terror as they witnessed their own destructive energy rebound toward them like a tidal wave of annihilation.

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!"

A catastrophic explosion erupted, illuminating the sky and swallowing the battlefield in blinding brilliance. Chaos ensued as the Prima Deities struggled desperately to shield themselves from the immense backlash. Cries of agony echoed from every direction as many were violently thrown back, barely managing to withstand the crushing force of their own reflected attacks.

The Star Man’s senses sharpened drastically, his body taut and ready as he tightened his grip around his spear, fully expecting Cain to immediately follow up with another devastating strike. His eyes scanned vigilantly, certain he would be the primary target.

Yet, to everyone’s astonishment, no such attack came.

Confusion spread rapidly among the ranks of the Prima Deities as they glanced around uncertainly, searching for their opponent. It was then that their eyes locked onto a sight that seemed utterly impossible.

Cain—the seemingly unstoppable Neo-Demon who had decimated their comrades mere moments ago—was now fleeing. Gone was the dark metallic luster that embodied his previously overwhelming destructive aura. No longer did his heartbeat echo like the unending hammer of war. Instead, Cain appeared weakened, blood leaking profusely from every orifice on his face, clearly indicating that the backlash of unleashing such immense power had finally overwhelmed him.

The Star Man instinctively frowned, a heavy suspicion gnawing at the edges of his mind. Something about this scene seemed profoundly wrong, yet he couldn’t immediately determine the exact nature of this incongruity. Unfortunately, he had no time to contemplate this feeling further, as the other Prima Deities had already abandoned caution, immediately giving chase upon witnessing Cain’s vulnerability.

The battalion of Prima Deities surged after Cain like jackals chasing a wounded lion, determined to slay their formidable enemy before he had the chance to recover. Seeing his comrades move so rashly, the Star Man cursed quietly under his breath before reluctantly flashing forward to follow them. Despite his lingering misgivings, he could not allow himself to fall behind. After all, their original purpose for descending to this layer was precisely to eliminate Cain, who had witnessed the powers of his Master.

Cain observed the pursuing horde of Prima Deities calmly, revealing nothing on his outward expression. However, deep within his eyes shone a subtle yet meaningful glint as he continued his calculated retreat.

"Don’t let him escape! Launch your soul spells now!" shouted one of the Peak Prima Deities furiously. Although Cain appeared gravely injured, he still flew at an astonishing speed, too fast for ordinary energy spells to reach him in time. Soul spells, however, transcended normal spatial constraints, making them almost instantaneous.

Hearing the command, several spirit-focused Prima Deities nodded swiftly, their eyes glowing ominously as they activated their attacks. Phantom silhouettes and ghostly specters surged from their bodies, rapidly closing the distance and instantly infiltrating Cain’s soul dimension.

Yet, rather than succumbing to fear or panic, Cain’s lips curled into a small, knowing smile.

His True Name held strength far beyond his body or even his soul, creating formidable spiritual and mental defenses. The invading soul spells failed utterly to inflict damage, their power dissipating uselessly upon contact with his overwhelmingly resilient soul dimension.

But Cain’s counterattack did not stop there.

He whispered softly yet menacingly, "Third Stance: Soulclad Reversal."

Within his soul dimension, several spectral swords emerged, each formed entirely of concentrated destructive power. They flashed swiftly toward the invading spirits, obliterating the soul spells with ease. Yet their destructive path didn’t end at mere defense. Using the remnants of the spiritual spells as gateways, the spectral swords teleported directly into the soul dimensions of their attackers.

"AAHHHHHHHHH!"

Painful cries erupted among the Prima Deities who had cast soul spells. The spectral swords violently ravaged their inner worlds, causing devastating damage to their souls. Those at the Late Prima Deity stage froze in midair, clutching their heads desperately as blood streamed from their eyes. The Middle-stage deities collapsed instantly, their consciousness shattered, plummeting to the earth below.

As for those at the Early stage, their fate was even more merciless—their eyes instantly lost all signs of life, souls utterly annihilated by Cain’s ruthless retaliation.

With a single decisive move, Cain had eliminated seven Prima Deities from combat, plunging the remaining forces into deeper dread. However, rather than breaking their resolve, this fear only propelled the rest of the Prima Deities forward. They knew with absolute certainty that if they failed to kill the Neo-Demon now, another chance would never come. Fueled by desperation, many willingly sacrificed portions of their vitality, exploding forward with even greater speeds.

The gap closed rapidly, the pursuing deities quickly nearing striking distance. Just as they believed victory was finally within their grasp, Cain abruptly halted his retreat. In a stunning reversal, he spun around midair, a wide, fearless smile spreading across his face. The heavy wounds that covered his body had healed, an overwhelming surge of vitality erupting from him like a tidal wave.

Unknown to his enemies, Cain had deliberately used this chase as a smokescreen, absorbing the potent vitality from the Scarlet Throne to quickly repair his internal damage, setting the stage perfectly for his next move.

Before the stunned Prima Deities could react, an even greater surprise appeared in the sky above. A massive halo, radiant with five brilliant colors, manifested dramatically, illuminating the battlefield below. Emerging from this dazzling phenomenon were over forty fresh Prima Deities, each exuding powerful and fierce auras of their own.

Leading this newly-arrived force was a young woman with fierce golden eyes that gleamed sharply with deadly intent. She gripped two formidable swords, each emanating a bloodthirsty presence, clearly eager to spill the blood of her enemies.
