The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1895: Back to the Ouroboros System

Chapter 1895: Back to the Ouroboros System

Cain could not help but display a wide, genuine smile as he heard the old man’s words. To fight once again for the thrill of living—to experience emotions, excitement, and purpose—was something worth smiling about. However, Cain did not lose himself in the sentiment. His eyes glowed brightly with a golden radiance capable of piercing through flesh and directly into the soul.

"Are you prepared to fight to the very end by my side?" Cain asked solemnly.

Terent met Cain’s powerful gaze without hesitation, nodding firmly as determination filled his voice. "Yes, I am."

"Great," Cain replied simply, satisfied. Those words were all Cain needed. The Flow made it abundantly clear to him that Terent was speaking with absolute sincerity—he was fully ready to put his life on the line in the battle ahead.

"Join your brothers in arms," Cain instructed warmly, a hint of pride evident in his voice.

Terent bowed deeply to Cain, expressing sincere respect. "Hail the Scarlet King," he declared, then quickly moved to stand beside the Sky Sovereign and the other elite warriors of the Scarlet Path.

Only then did Cain’s eyes turn back toward Auramyth and the remaining five Prima Deities of the Endlesslight Continent. Their decision was obvious to him even without relying on his heightened perception. They had chosen to bury their heads in the sand, waiting passively until the conflict had passed. Of course, they would still pay their toll.

"You six shall remain at the border of the sect," Cain stated, his voice firm and commanding. "After handling the situation with the Shadowcradle Continent, I will deal with you."

Complicated expressions appeared on the faces of the six Prima Deities. They had hoped to settle the matter quickly, to ease their anxiety and uncertainty, but now it seemed they would have to endure the weight of suspense even longer.

Cain paid them no further attention. Instead, he turned his focus back to his loyal warriors. His smile returned, wider and more vibrant, as he saw the eagerness reflected in their eyes. The next moment, the communication rings on their hands glowed brightly, and each warrior clearly heard Cain’s voice echoing in their minds.

"Ouroboros Points," Cain announced, his voice resonating through their spirits.

Terent raised an eyebrow at hearing those words. He was familiar with the legendary Ouroboros System from Cain’s previous deployment during the Omega War, but that system had been exclusively designed for Divine Cultivators. It was a pleasant surprise to learn that it had now evolved to include even Prima Deities.

The Scarlet Path warriors exchanged excited glances as they saw numbers appearing within their minds, reflecting their efforts and achievements clearly and objectively. However, their curiosity quickly returned to Cain as he made a sweeping motion with his hand, causing a massive black pyramid to materialize in mid-air.

Everyone instantly recognized this pyramid—it was the divine treasure trove Divine Calamity Heaven had amassed to motivate Prima Deities, and which Cain had spectacularly stolen moments before claiming dominance over the shores of the Endlessdeath Continent.

Cain examined the imposing pyramid for a brief moment. Then, his eyes glowed with intense scarlet energy, quickly altering the pyramid’s color from obsidian black to a deep, brilliant scarlet. Turning back to his warriors, he raised his voice, confident and strong:

"The Scarlet Pyramid holds countless treasures—from resources useful to Divine Transcendent Masters to artifacts so powerful even Peak Prima Deities would struggle to unlock their full potential. Inside, you’ll also find vast reserves of cultivation materials to elevate your paths to previously unattainable heights."

Cain’s voice radiated pride and authority as he continued, "Each of you now possesses Ouroboros Points based on your achievements. These points can be exchanged for treasures within. Simply focus your consciousness upon the Scarlet Pyramid, and a list will reveal itself, along with the cost of each item."

A war was imminent, and freely distributing these treasures to everyone might seem appealing. But Cain understood human nature far too well. If everyone received everything equally and without effort, ambition and discipline would deteriorate. The Scarlet Path was fundamentally built on an unwavering meritocracy, an ideal reinforced and maintained by the impartial calculations of the [A.I. Chip Module]. By rewarding genuine effort, warriors would remain driven and motivated to strive harder and surpass their limits.

Excitement and anticipation surged in the hearts of everyone present, but Cain was not yet finished. "Additionally," he declared clearly, ensuring everyone’s full attention, "inside the Scarlet Pyramid is a vast archive of techniques—ranging from those meant to elevate your cultivation, to powerful offensive and defensive abilities, and also rare auxiliary skills. All these techniques are available to you freely, without cost. You simply need to return them once mastered."

Treasures and cultivation resources were inherently finite; thus, it was logical and necessary to attach a price. Techniques, however, were different. They could be studied, utilized, and returned without loss. Given the urgency and importance of the upcoming conflict, Cain had decided to make these methods freely accessible to his warriors. Moreover, thanks to the power of the [A.I. Chip Module], Cain had produced hundreds of copies for techniques up to the Early Prima Deity rank, ensuring availability was never an issue.

For techniques of Peak Prima Deity and Archdeity rank, however, copies were understandably limited. But as such techniques could only be wielded by Prima Deities—of whom there were few—this would cause no problems.

Receiving Cain’s nod of approval, the warriors of the Scarlet Path immediately sent their consciousness into the Scarlet Pyramid. Within moments, wide, exhilarated smiles appeared on their faces. They saw a myriad of cultivation resources and heavenly treasures, each capable of radically altering their destinies. What astonished them further was how low Cain had set the prices. Even Divine Cultivators were now able to afford treasures traditionally reserved for Prima Deities!

Paying for treasures was essential to maintain the Scarlet Path’s core meritocratic philosophy. But, understanding that war was near, Cain had deliberately kept the prices low. This strategic generosity would greatly enhance their chances of survival and victory in the brutal conflict that lay ahead.
