Chapter 1923: Red eyes that give you purpose

Divine Calamity trembled uncontrollably as he found himself engulfed in an endless expanse of darkness. As an Archdeity, he was accustomed to seeing clearly even in places where no light existed. Yet here, within this realm of eternal night, his senses were rendered utterly useless. He could not see even his own hand, held mere inches from his face. It was as though he had been swallowed by an infinite void, a place utterly devoid of form or boundary.

More terrifying still was the unsettling sensation that robbed him entirely of any sense of orientation. No matter which direction he attempted to move, the darkness remained constant and oppressive, endlessly stretching around him without any escape. Soon, this oppressive emptiness began eroding the edges of his mind, filling his heart with a chilling dread and profound despair, feelings so alien to an ancient being like him, one who had existed for millions of years. He did not feel like an ancient entity more than ten million years old, but like a child lost in a dark forest, begging for someone to help him.

His mental fortitude started crumbling under the immense psychological strain. Just when Divine Calamity felt his sanity slipping away entirely, two glowing red eyes suddenly appeared from within the darkness, gazing down upon him from above. These eyes held a presence so overwhelming, so inherently superior, that Divine Calamity immediately felt compelled to bow in submission.

"You are lost," a deep, resonant voice echoed from the shadows, vibrating within the core of his soul. "I shall guide you. I shall grant you a purpose beyond your wildest dreams—something that will make you whole."

Divine Calamity’s trembling grew more intense as these words pierced his very being. His eyes, which had long reflected his own ambitions and desires, slowly changed, adopting the same deep crimson glow that emanated from those powerful eyes above him.

The transformation mirrored, in part, the devotion Cain inspired among his followers. Yet, while Cain’s followers willingly opened their hearts and souls out of admiration and respect, retaining their individuality and personal goals, Divine Calamity had no choice in this matter.

His transformation was forced, a ruthless domination that stripped away his independence, leaving him utterly enslaved. However, what was truly horrifying was that he felt happy about it. It was a prison he would kill anyone who dared to try and take him out.

It was like the two sides of the same coin.

The effect was instantaneous and terrifying. All Divine Calamity’s dreams of power, dominance, and revenge began to dissipate rapidly, replaced entirely by an overwhelming urge to serve the entity behind those mesmerizing red eyes. His once-proud ambitions faded like shadows at dawn, eclipsed by a desperate craving to fulfill whatever role those eyes saw fit to bestow upon him. Gradually, his existence became nothing more than an extension of the will behind those red eyes.

"Are you ready to accept your purpose—the sacred task I have prepared for you?" the voice asked, compelling and irresistible.

"YES! YES!" Divine Calamity immediately dropped to his knees, bowing deeply in absolute submission. Fanaticism burned brightly within his now-red eyes as he desperately sought to be useful, to serve the supreme entity that had so easily dominated him.

"Open your soul, and let my will enter freely," commanded the red eyes, their voice carrying a profound authority that felt as natural and undeniable as gravity itself.

To willingly expose one’s soul, allowing another being unrestricted control, was something no sane entity would ever contemplate—especially towards a stranger. Yet Divine Calamity did not hesitate for even a fraction of a moment. His defenses vanished, leaving his mind and soul vulnerable, ready to be shaped and molded according to his new master’s desires.

"I am ready, my master," Divine Calamity declared, his voice saturated with a devotion so pure it resonated to the very core of his existence.

The red eyes intensified their glow, emanating a power so immense it flooded Divine Calamity’s being, seizing control of the psychic energies implanted by his previous Lord—energies that had festered within him for millions of years. This dormant energy surged forth, rapidly intensifying into an overwhelming pillar of dark psychic force that erupted from Divine Calamity’s body, piercing the ceiling of the cave and ascending into a higher dimension.

Guided by the red eyes’ immeasurable power, the pillar tore through reality, ascending to the realm of Astral Supremacy Stars, an existence governed by supreme cosmic principles, and soon reached the pinnacle. Yet, rather than merging with the majestic Rank 12 Depravita Supremacy Stars, it sought something entirely different—a crack in the dimensional fabric itself, a fissure left after someone took one of those heavenly bodies.

Normally, such fractures would mend themselves swiftly, but an immensely powerful force had sustained this fissure, transforming it into a stable portal connecting to a domain beyond the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe.𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

The pillar of dark energy originating from Divine Calamity surged through this mysterious portal. Moments later, a shadowy figure began marching back through it, slowly materializing within the confines of the energy column. It appeared as an ethereal goat cloaked entirely in sinister psychic darkness, moving cautiously through the cosmic ladder formed by the realm of Astral Supremacy Stars until finally reaching the Everstrife Empyrean World.

"RUMBLE!!!"

As soon as the shadowy goat stepped forth from the Astral Supremacy Star realm, the entire Everstrife Empyrean World violently trembled. The skies erupted into an array of dazzling colors, an alarming phenomenon visible to everybody. However, before the world could fully react, the goat swiftly penetrated Divine Calamity’s Soul Dimension, completely masking its presence from the external universe. Instantly, the trembling ceased, and the vibrant celestial display vanished without a trace.

The red eyes observed silently, ensuring that everything had proceeded as planned. Once satisfied, they turned their attention once again to Divine Calamity’s Soul Dimension.

Inside, the small goat stood confidently before the immense, towering figure of Divine Calamity’s Alter-Ego, Saturn. The goat’s eyes glowed ominously, and it opened its mouth wide. Immediately, Saturn’s vast, imposing body began to distort and break apart, sucked relentlessly into the goat’s waiting maw.

It should have been an indescribably painful experience, as Divine Calamity’s entire identity and ego were devoured. Yet, instead of agony, his face displayed a serene smile, his eyes glowing ever brighter with fanatical joy. His individuality and personality rapidly dissolved, consumed entirely by the strange, dark creature.

An overwhelming bliss filled Divine Calamity’s soul—absolute and unconditional happiness born from knowing he was fulfilling the true purpose of his existence. Any lingering fear, hesitation, or resistance had vanished completely, replaced by an unwavering sense of gratitude and fulfillment.
