Chapter 1960: Eclipse Monolith Inheritance
Chapter 1960: Eclipse Monolith Inheritance
The next second, the statue began to speak with a voice that carried power and might so immense that it seemed they could sunder entire continents.
"I am Talmon," the statue intoned, its deep voice reverberating through the amphitheater. "Son of Headmaster Cronus and Leader of the Annihilation Corps of the Ouroborus Cult. I can impart my personally forged inheritance: the Eclipse Monolith Inheritance. It is a body-forging inheritance meant to achieve absolute indestructibility—capable of withstanding the strikes of Alpha-Omega Overgods with nothing but your flesh.
"However..." The voice deepened, weighty with warning. "To train it to the ultimate limit, one must be a Primordial with Astral-Essence Dual Cultivation. Without that, you may only access the first two levels."
Cain’s eyes widened, his breath catching. He stood stunned, utterly speechless. The Eclipse Monolith Inheritance could not have been more perfect for him.
However, before allowing the excitement and thrill to overwhelm his mind, Cain forced himself to take a deep breath and wait. No matter how extraordinary the inheritance seemed, if the price surpassed what he had, then it was useless to him.
The truth was that Cain felt genuine nervousness this time. He had encountered many body-refinement and enhancement inheritances already, and those at the Alpha-Omega Overgod Tier always came with terrifying prices. Some cost as much as 50,000 credits, and those were not as overwhelmingly powerful or specialized as the Eclipse Monolith Inheritance appeared to be.
The tension within him grew sharper with every second, his anticipation rising to its peak—until at last the ancient voice resounded once again, declaring the cost.
"To gain access to Leader Talmon’s inheritance, pay 35,000 credits."
Cain’s eyes widened, and the thrill and excitement came surging back with even greater strength. Relief and joy coursed through him. He currently possessed 44,500 credits—more than enough to pay the price. In truth, he was stunned that the cost was so low.
But upon closer consideration, the logic became clear. Even the most extraordinary inheritance had to be weighed against its practicality. Who could actually use it? During his exploration of the Fourth Ring, Cain had seen dozens of statues representing figures from both the Dark and Light Races. Yet this was the first time he had ever come across a Primordial. Their rarity was absolute, to the point that very few cultivators in history could even attempt to train such an inheritance to completion. And so, despite its unimaginable power, the price was reduced.
"I guess I am truly lucky," Cain whispered, a broad smile spreading across his face.
His heart burned with desire. Every fiber of his being urged him to claim the inheritance immediately, to bind the Eclipse Monolith to his soul. Yet he restrained himself. Discipline won over impulse. As much as he craved this technique, he had not yet seen all that the Fourth Ring had to offer. While he seriously doubted he would find anything superior, wisdom dictated caution. It was always better to be thorough.
Rising into the air, Cain swept forward once again. He continued to dive through the ring, carefully examining every inheritance that appeared along his path, analyzing each one in detail. When he finished exploring his sector, he contacted Amon and Bael, cross-checking their findings and committing the information to memory.
Only when he was satisfied that nothing else in this ring could compare did Cain return to the massive statue of Talmon. He descended slowly, his eyes fixed on the four-armed Primordial carved in immortal stone. Without hesitation, he walked forward, gave the command, and transferred the credits.
Not even a heartbeat later, the statue came alive. Its colossal eyes began to glow, and the vast shadow that clung to its surface detached, surging outward. The phantom roared as it hurtled into Cain with a speed so great that he could not even react.
Before he could comprehend what was happening, the shadow pierced directly into his Soul Dimension. There it transformed, reshaping itself into a strange rune—a massive figure with four arms, roaring toward the heavens.
For a moment Cain felt as though the weight of an entire world had been dropped onto his consciousness. His mind trembled under the strain, nearly buckling. But his focus, honed through countless trials, quickly steadied. His eyes sharpened as he sent his mind into the Eclipse Monolith Inheritance, and its full fully bloomed inside his mind.
"Unbelievable..." Cain whispered.
That single word was all he could manage, for the technique was truly beyond anything he had imagined.
The core mechanics of the Eclipse Monolith focused on the dual circulation of life and death forces. Life force would flow clockwise through fascia, skin, and blood, while death force would move counter-clockwise through bone, marrow, and soul. Where these opposing currents overlapped, Alpha–Omega Nodes (AΩN) would be born. Each node instantly quenched any incoming destructive force, converting death into life, annihilation into vitality. In essence, the body itself became an indestructible monolith, continuously reforging itself with every blow.
But the requirements to even begin were staggering. To initiate the process, one needed a Proto Law of Life and a Proto Law of Death, both comprehended to one hundred percent perfection. Only then could the forces be conjured and overlapped.
And that was just the start. The overlapping points had to be tempered with minimum Rank 11 Star Power, carrying within it the essence of destruction and creation, of death and rebirth—anything embodying the eternal cycle of existence. That was the bare foundation of the first level. Beyond that, the demands only grew harsher, ascending into realms few could dream of.
Cain, however, was uniquely positioned. Though he did not yet possess perfected Proto Laws of Life and Death, the insights he had amassed from the Scarlet Throne gave him confidence that he could forge them in no time. As for the Star Power, his position was even stronger. The Supernova Aspect, born from his Rank 12 Depravita Astral Supremacy Star, carried within it both the forces of destruction and creation. With it, he could temper the Alpha–Omega Nodes to perfection.
"Hahahahaha!" The more he learned about this technique, the greater his excitement grew to the point he could not contain his laughter. It was as if fate itself had delivered the perfect inheritance directly into his hands.
But once the outburst faded, Cain’s focus sharpened again. He studied every detail, his mind racing as he analyzed the descriptions of each stage. What he discovered left him stunned.
