The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1961: As resilient as an Early Alpha–Omega Overgod treasure

Chapter 1961: As resilient as an Early Alpha–Omega Overgod treasure

There were a total of four levels within the Eclipse Monolith Inheritance, each one more terrifying than the last.

Completing the first level alone granted a cultivator a body capable of enduring direct attacks from Half-Step Archdeities and receiving no damage at all. That level of resilience was already equivalent to the peak achievements of the Worldcell Method, one of the most revered body-refinement techniques known in the Nine Empyrean Suns World and the one Cain was currently using.

Yet that was far from the true extent of its value. If the one cultivating it happened to be a Primordial, the strength of the Alpha–Omega Nodes would rise exponentially, evolving the physique into something even more unfathomable. At that point, even the attacks of weak Early Archdeities would fail to inflict true damage!

Just the first level by itself made the Eclipse Monolith Inheritance worth every single credit Cain had spent. But it was only the beginning.

The second level was even more astounding. Reaching it would grant an ordinary cultivator a body that could withstand the might of Peak Early Archdeity attacks, all with nothing more than bare flesh, leaving behind not even the slightest scratch. If a Primordial managed to reach this stage, their defenses would rise to an outrageous height—they would become invulnerable to the assaults of Peak Middle Archdeities. It was the kind of defense that bordered on the absurd, something even legendary figures would envy.

Cain could not help but reflect. "If I had attained the second level of the Eclipse Monolith before the Everlife War, I could have stood in place and allowed Divine Calamity, World Breaker, and the Lord of the Last Step to unleash all their power against me... and I would have remained unscathed, watching them collapse in exhaustion." The thought brought a sharp glint to his eyes. That was the sheer outrageousness of this inheritance.

Then came the third level, one attainable only by a Primordial. Its capabilities were staggering beyond words. Succeeding in the third level meant forging a body that could equal a Peak ArchDeity’s armor. To stand at such a stage was to embody near-indestructibility, a walking monolith immune to the tides of destruction.

Attaining this level would render Cain practically invincible within the Everstreif Empyrean World. After all, there was no public record of any Peak Archdeity existing within this world. If he reached this level, then in this realm, he would be beyond all comparison, a supreme existence who could walk unchallenged.

As for the fourth and final level... its promise bordered on the unbelievable.

"To attain the fourth level would make my body... as resilient as an Early Alpha–Omega Overgod treasure," Cain whispered, his voice trembling slightly with awe.

The words alone left him utterly stunned. In all his travels, he had not yet even encountered a single Alpha–Omega Overgod in the Everstrife Empyrean World, and yet now, within his grasp, lay a method to forge a body that could take their attack as if they were nothing!

Even for someone with Cain’s iron will, it took time to overcome the shock. His heart pounded fiercely, emotions surging like waves threatening to drown his reason. But at last, his eyes began to glow with crimson flames, flames that burned away the overwhelming tides of elation. His focus returned, his mind sharpened once more.

The Eclipse Monolith Inheritance was indeed a tool to become unbeatable, but Cain reminded himself of a crucial truth: there was always a difference between possessing a technique and actually wielding its power. To bridge that gap required patience, discipline, and time.

Once his head was clear, Cain sat in silence, meditating on his next move. At the moment, he could not yet cultivate the Eclipse Monolith Inheritance. He still lacked the perfected Proto Laws of Life and Death. While he believed he could forge them without too much delay, he preferred to attempt it once he left this place. For now, the question was simple: what to do with the rest of his credits?

He still had 9,500 credits remaining. It was not enough to purchase powerful battle skills or high-tier abilities, but it was sufficient to acquire profession-type inheritances. And that was exactly what he needed.

Cain was already a supreme master in Tribulation Enhancement and Genetic Coding, having advanced far in those paths. Yet he had begun to feel the limits of talent and hard work. Without proper techniques or structured guidance, even someone with his monstrous capabilities would eventually stagnate. He could attempt to figure everything out alone, but doing so would require thousands of years. That was a cost he could not afford.

After considering this carefully, Cain perform a bow to the statue and rose into the air once again, flashing across the skies until he came before a statue of a figure belonging to the Anima Machinarium Race. As he approached, the shadows around the effigy shifted, giving the statue life, and a solemn voice echoed into the air.

"I am Elder Zuko," it declared, its tone mighty yet serene. "Headmaster of the Tribulation Association of the Ouroboros Cult. I can impart the inheritance of Tribulation, carrying the essence of my knowledge as an Alpha–Omega Tier Tribulation Enhancer."

Cain’s lips curved into a smile as he heard those words. To gain access to the accumulated wisdom of a master at that height was no small matter. But then the ancient voice declared the cost.

"To gain access to Elder Zuko’s inheritance, pay 4,000 credits."

The smile faded slightly as Cain absorbed the information. The value of this professional inheritance was less than that of the Runic Inheritance he had previously acquired. The reasons could vary—perhaps it was less complete, or perhaps the Ouroboros Cult simply considered Tribulation Enhancement less valuable than the art of Runic Crafting. Either way, it was good news for him. He nodded decisively and completed the purchase.

The shadows detached themselves from the statue and lunged into Cain’s Soul Dimension, coalescing into a new rune beside the one formed by the Eclipse Monolith Inheritance. This time, the weight was far lighter. Unlike the overwhelming presence of the Primordial master’s rune, this rune settled easily into place. Cain adjusted without difficulty and immediately began to analyze the knowledge contained within.

His eyes lit up with a surge of excitement, and a wide smile spread across his face.

"Excellent..."

The inheritance contained ingenious techniques to forge the Revolution Flame more efficiently, as well as methods to perform the Revolution Refinement with greater precision and effectiveness. There were even cultivation paths and auxiliary exercises designed to accelerate his comprehension and mastery in the field of Tribulation.
