Chapter 2423: The final battle above the blood ocean
With the alliance secured, the massive flying fortress of the Aztorus Kingdom descended and took position directly above the center of the Ocean of the Blood Sun.
The moment it stabilized, Cain felt it clearly—the fortress had begun channeling the energy of his oceanic body, drawing upon the boundless vitality and blood force beneath it to power its countless formations, runes, and weapon arrays.
It was an enormous drain.
But Cain did not care.
The Ocean of the Blood Sun possessed more energy than the fortress could ever hope to exhaust, and Cain’s attention was focused elsewhere. His true priority lay in the soul extraction and purification of the Ancestor Drops from the countless Blutlinie the Aztorus King had sent into the ocean as tribute a few minutes ago.
One by one, their souls were stripped and collected into golden orbs that spread across the Ocean of the Blood Sun, hidden from everybody.
As for their Ancestor Drops, they were purified to the highest degree Cain could achieve and then fused into the growing drop within his new body.
When the process was complete, waves of exhilaration surged through Cain’s soul.
"It is already larger than that of a normal Early Alpha–Omega Overgod Royal Blutlinie," he assessed calmly. "And its purity... exponentially greater."
The achievement was staggering.
Even the greatest geniuses of Paradise would have considered such a result miraculous. Yet Cain was not satisfied.
He wanted more.
And he knew exactly how to obtain it.
"The only thing I need now," Cain murmured, "is for the final battle of this war to begin."
Almost as if answering his thoughts, something appeared in his perception. The Scarlet King focused on the far horizon, where space itself seemed to distort beneath an approaching pressure.
"Just in time." A thrill surged through his heart as he could feel the purity of this group’s Ancestor Drops.
Cain was not the only one to sense it.
Eonar immediately left the fortress, stepping into the highest layer of the sky above the Ocean of the Blood Sun. His eyes shone with sharp anticipation as he gazed toward the approaching forces. A wide smile spread across his face—one filled with killing intent and battle will.
"Finally," he said coldly. "You appear, Lortar."
The Kalous King, Lortar, resembled an old man at first glance—but nothing about him was frail. His massive frame radiated brute power, his muscles bulging beneath scales that covered his arms and part of his chest. Long white hair flowed behind him, and the air around his body ignited simply from the friction of his presence.
Following him was a colossal army.
Cain’s gaze swept over the battlefield instantly.
Behind Lortar stood nine Alpha–Omega Overgod Royal Blutlinie. Of those nine, only five bore the bloodline of the Kalous Kingdom.
Cain’s eyes narrowed.
"The other four are mercenaries," he concluded. "The price Lortar must have paid to drag them into this war... immense."
A flicker of amusement passed through Cain’s soul as he sensed the Kalous King’s killing intent—and beneath it, desperation.
This was not merely vengeance for a dead son.
This was fear.
Fear of retaliation from the Dark Blood Kingdom.
Just as the forces of the Kalous Kingdom approached the shore of the blood ocean, eight Alpha–Omega Overgod Royal Blutlinie emerged from the Aztorus Kingdom’s fortress. They positioned themselves beside Eonar, followed by tens of thousands of Prima Deity and ArchDeity Blutlinie.
Then, without warning, three figures rose from the Ocean of the Blood Sun itself.
Hades.
Satan.
Morningstar.
They joined the ranks of the Aztorus Kingdom, their presence tipping the balance decisively.
Twelve Alpha–Omega Overgods.
Two more than the Kalous Kingdom.
Eonar’s smile widened as he observed the numerical advantage, his gaze locking onto Lortar.
"Come to me, Lortar," he said, voice ringing across the battlefield. "It is time for you to finally die."
Lortar did not respond.
Instead, he unleashed his power.
His energy exploded outward, merging with that of the Royal Blutlinie at his side and surging through the massive army behind him. The sky darkened as the forces of the Kalous Kingdom crossed the shore and soared above the Ocean of the Blood Sun.
Instantly, countless beams of condensed blood energy erupted from the ocean, their power focused entirely on the Royal Blutlinie while completely ignoring the lesser troops.
Lortar frowned.
The attacks posed no real threat to him, but they were disruptive—capable of influencing the flow of battle.
Naturally, the Kalous Kingdom did not simply endure them.
Massive attacks were unleashed in response, their energy crashing into the blood ocean and evaporating enormous sections of it. Crimson steam rose into the sky as vast volumes of blood were annihilated.
Eonar remained still.
If the enemy wished to waste energy destroying the ocean, all the better.
As for the damage to the Ocean of the Blood Sun itself, he did not care. Once this battle ended, the ocean would no longer exist. The Kalous Kingdom and its territory would belong to him, and he would never tolerate a sentient ocean so close to his borders.
Every attack from the Kalous Kingdom felt like a blade piercing Cain’s flesh.
Yet Cain did not waver.
He carefully guided the battlefield, ensuring that his Royal Guards remained aligned with the enemy’s Royal Blutlinie, subtly pulling the conflict deeper into the heart of the ocean.
Finally, the Kalous King and his elites reached the center of the Ocean of the Blood Sun.
They were mere seconds from engaging their counterparts in the Aztorus Kingdom.
Eonar raised his hand.
The massive fortress behind him flared with blinding light as its cannons—each capable of killing an Alpha–Omega Overgod—began charging.
But Lortar moved first.
He opened his mouth and expelled two metallic cubes.
In the next instant, the cubes expanded into gargantuan constructs, each one covered in countless runic formations that glowed with ancient power.
Before the Aztorus fortress could fire, the cubes unleashed their own beams of energy.
The attacks struck the fortress with overwhelming force, consuming vast sections of it in an instant.
