The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2459: Spies from the higher realms

Chapter 2459: Spies from the higher realms

After finishing the exploration of the metallic mountain range and finding nothing, Cain and the rest of the squadron moved on to the next quadrant.

From the outside, he appeared calm and attentive, riding atop Satan alongside the rest of the formation. No one noticed when he closed his eyes and sank into deep concentration.

His true focus lay elsewhere.

For an entire day, the Blood Avatar moved silently through the ocean, traveling at incredible speed beneath the waves. When it finally emerged, Cain immediately channeled the Power of Chaos into the fragment it carried.

Just as before, images surged through his mind.

But this time, the vision did not pull his awareness toward the Dark Blood Kingdom’s capital. Instead, it pointed in a completely different direction.

Excitement and anticipation surged through Cain’s heart. His theory had been correct—the Power of Chaos truly connected him to the nearest fragment.

The vision crossed a vast distance, passing over mountains, plains, and rivers, before finally arriving at a small city.

Blutlinie cultivators lived there, but their strength barely reached the Divine Realm. Compared to the forces Cain now commanded, the entire settlement was insignificant.

The vision guided him into a modest house. Inside, in a dusty storage corner, lay a forearm armor.

It was piled together with a heap of low-tier armor—discarded equipment that no one considered valuable.

Cain almost burst into laughter.

In a remote city, treated as little more than scrap, rested one of the most sacred treasures in the entire universe.

The Scarlet King shook his head in disbelief before directing the Blood Avatar forward.

While the avatar moved to retrieve the second piece, Cain and his battalion arrived at their new assigned location—a vast swamp.

The landscape itself was toxic, filled with poisonous mist and corrupted waters, but that was not the true danger.

The real threat came from the Omen Beasts that inhabited the region.

Some of them had reached the Alpha–Omega Overgod Realm.

Although Royal Blutlinie warriors were generally stronger than Omen Beasts at the same level, the difference was not overwhelming. The creatures lurking within the swamp were capable of killing Early Alpha–Omega Overgods, which was precisely why Cain had been assigned to this quadrant.

The Scarlet King wasted no time.

He ordered the battalion to spread across the outer regions of the swamp, exploring the perimeter first before gradually advancing inward. Their consciousness expanded as they moved, scanning every corner and leaving no area unchecked.

Meanwhile, Cain and the Royal Guard headed straight toward the heart of the domain.

The battles began almost immediately.

From the outer edges, Samira and the accompanying Blutlinie warriors could only watch in stunned silence as massive explosions echoed from deep within the swamp. The detonations were so powerful that tremors spread throughout the entire region, shaking the earth like distant earthquakes.

Their shock deepened when they saw a figure rise into the air—one of the white-armored Royal Guards—facing a colossal nine-headed hydra.

The Omen Beast radiated the aura of a Late Alpha–Omega Overgod. The energy pouring from its open maws was so terrifying that even distant observers felt dread tighten around their hearts.

Yet the Royal Guard only smiled.

Morningstar gripped a massive bastard sword and charged forward without hesitation.

Although Blutlinie cultivators often looked down on other beings as inferior, they were instinctively conditioned to respect power. And the might displayed by the Royal Guard was undeniable.

Morningstar’s blade tore through the hydra’s massive body, sending fountains of blood raining from the sky. Each clash shook the surrounding swamp, and each strike carried overwhelming force.

On the ground below, Cain watched the battle with a satisfied smile.

Despite how much he had grown, and despite the terrifying strength of his own body, Morningstar—his strongest Royal Guard—was still capable of fighting alongside him.

Cain made no move to interfere.

He allowed Morningstar to test his rising strength, refine his combat instincts, and push himself to his limits against a worthy opponent.

The battle lasted several hours.

In the end, Morningstar emerged victorious.

Without hesitation, he descended upon the hydra’s enormous corpse and began to devour it. Despite the creature’s mountain-like size, the Royal Guard consumed the entire body within minutes, converting its vitality and energy into his own.

His aura rose noticeably afterward.

With the leader of the swamp dead, the remaining Omen Beasts offered little resistance. None possessed the will or strength to challenge the Royal Guard, and the entire region was swiftly cleared.

With the primary threat eliminated, the battalion resumed its search, carefully scanning every part of the swamp.

Cain also performed his duties, but most of his attention remained focused on the Blood Avatar.

By the time the avatar reached the small city, retrieving the forearm fragment proved effortless. No one noticed the silent intruder as it entered the storage room, took the relic, and vanished.

Cain clenched his fist slightly, excitement flickering in his eyes.

If the fragments were aligned properly, their power would be extraordinary.

Unfortunately, when he examined the two pieces more closely, his expression stiffened.

One belonged to the right arm.

The other belonged to the left.

The Scarlet King’s eye twitched before a wry smile appeared on his face.

"I suppose my luck was bound to balance out eventually," he thought.

Still, he did not allow the setback to distract him.

Once the search of the swamp was complete and the warriors had a chance to rest, Cain focused his power again. He channeled the Power of Chaos through the Blood Avatar and into both fragments simultaneously.

Fortunately, the pieces did not resonate with each other.

Instead, the power activated once more, sending a new stream of images into his mind.

His awareness traveled across vast distances as the vision guided him toward another fragment.

"Good," Cain thought calmly. "It’s not the one in the Dark Blood King’s possession."

The images continued for some time before finally revealing the location.

What Cain saw made his pupils shrink.

It was not a majestic land.

It was not a hidden ruin.

It was not even a city.

The fragment was in the possession of a Royal Blutlinie.

That alone would not have been surprising.

What shocked Cain was something else.

The warrior did not belong to the Dark Blood Realm.

A cold light appeared in the Scarlet King’s eyes.

"Spies from the higher realms."
