Chapter 2461: Fourth Realm Asura Form? (I)
"BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!"
A massive eruption of white flames exploded outward, flooding the entire area and bursting in every direction. Its power was something that would make Alpha-Omega Overgod tremble in horror.
Yet the land did not shatter.
The trees did not break.
The sky did not tremble.
Everything touched by the white flames simply froze.
The motion of matter itself was forced into absolute stillness. Particles halted. Energy ceased. Even the wind stopped flowing, locked in a silent, frozen moment.
Only one figure continued to move.
The Royal Blutliline spy crashed violently into the ground, carving a long trench across the earth. A trail of blood marked his path, pouring from a deep wound that stretched from his shoulder down to his waist.
Despite the severity of the injury, the man regained control of his body almost immediately. He forced himself upright and adopted a battle stance, his gaze locking onto the figure standing in the distance.
There he was.
A young man with blazing scarlet eyes and sky-blue plasma wings radiating the power of time. He wore a full suit of armor, and in his hand rested a black sword wrapped in white flames.
"If not for my armor, that slash would have destroyed my internal organs." A solemn light crossed the spy’s eyes as he realized just how much strength was in the enemy’s sword.
His name was Aerion, an exceptionally skilled infiltrator. Thanks to his Ancestor Power, he had slipped unnoticed into countless kingdoms and domains, always remaining one step ahead of his enemies.
But this situation was different.
"I didn’t sense him. That shouldn’t have happened. I could perceive even the silent approach of His Highness... so why did it fail now?"
Questions flooded Aerion’s mind, but he forced them aside. His gaze sharpened, and his aura condensed around him.
Only one thing mattered now.
He had to kill his enemy before reinforcements arrived.
Through the Aspect of Resonance from the Flow, the Scarlet King perceived the tension and thoughts racing through Aerion’s mind, and a faint smile appeared on his lips.
Although he now had a perfect excuse for intercepting the spy, there was no chance he would call for help. For his plan to succeed, he needed to defeat the man alone, away from prying eyes, and equally important, he wanted the fragment that the spy brought with him.
Without hesitation, the Scarlet King tightened his grip on the Blade of the End of Time, charged Null Eternum, and shot forward.
But he had barely begun his charge when Aerion raised his hand, pointed toward him, and clenched his fist.
Just like the Blood Avatar before him—
Cain froze.
"This is my chance," Aerion thought, killing intent blazing in his eyes.
"While he tries to decipher my Ancestor Power, I will—"
His thoughts halted abruptly.
"What are these purple threads?"
Cain’s voice was filled with curiosity.
All around him, countless thin purple strands wrapped around his arms, legs, torso, and head, binding him tightly in place.
Aerion’s eyes widened in shock.
He could not believe what he was hearing.
His Ancestor Power was regarded as one of the most mysterious and dangerous abilities in his home realm. Its greatest strength was its invisibility. No one could truly perceive the threads he controlled, and countless died in ignorance.
Yet this man—someone he had never met before—not only sensed them.
He could see them.
And before Aerion could react further—
Cain tightened his grip on the sword.
The white flames surged.
The purple threads snapped.
The bindings shattered as Cain broke free and continued his forward charge.
Shock and dread filled Aerion’s eyes. He immediately retreated, releasing more and more threads to restrain his opponent.
But Cain cut through all of them.
Again and again.
And he kept advancing.
Aerion gritted his teeth and changed tactics instantly.
"Ancestor Art: Sundering Karma!"
At his command, dense clusters of purple threads burst from his fingers and shot forward at terrifying speed, slicing through everything in their path.
The air split.
The ground tore apart.
Invisible blades filled the battlefield.
Cain’s eyes narrowed as the situation grew more dangerous. Still, he did not retreat. The power flowing through the Blade of the End of Time intensified as he cut through every thread that approached him.
The threads were deadly precisely because they could not be seen. Most opponents were forced to rely on instinct alone to survive.
But Cain had no such limitation.
To him, the threads were as clear as the ground beneath his feet.
Aerion attacked relentlessly, unleashing wave after wave of karmic strands, but he could not stop the Scarlet King.
Cain broke through.
In the next instant, he reached him.
The blade flashed.
A deep, bloody cross tore across Aerion’s chest.
Pain twisted Aerion’s expression, but what came next was far worse.
Cain’s free hand shot forward and struck the center point where the two cuts intersected.
White flames erupted.
The Eternum Flame engulfed Aerion’s body completely.
Cain’s smile widened, confidence filling his gaze.
Not only had he inflicted severe physical damage, but the strike had also flooded Aerion’s body and soul with Quietus Force. The power would freeze the motion of his atoms and lock the very particles of his soul into stillness.
Even beings at the level of the Heartcream King or the Evernight Queen would struggle to overcome such a condition.
"He was strong," Cain thought calmly, "but for some reason, his Ancestor Power seemed flawed when used against me."
He shook his head, uninterested in the explanation, and prepared to proceed with his next step.
Yet before he could do it, a heartbeat echoed with the power of a thousand exploding suns.
Before Cain could react, the torrent of white flames surrounding Aerion exploded outward.
The next instant—
A fist struck Cain’s helmet.
The impact was overwhelming.
The armor dented inward, and the Scarlet King was hurled backward, rolling violently across the ground and carving a massive trench through the earth as he was sent flying.
