Chapter 2628: Cain’s new weapon (IV)

An apocalyptic clash of wills erupted within the Lucid Dream, growing in power with each passing second.

"BOOOOOOM!"

A monstrous psychic storm exploded outward from the point of contact, spreading across the mental realm. The very fabric of the Lucid Dream twisted violently as tides of spiritual force crashed against one another.

The Chimera Will roared, as its body was engulfed in a dark orange light.

Its countless arms pulled against the chains binding it while endless waves of hatred, rage, madness, and destruction surged toward Cain like a cosmic tsunami. Every fragment of Robuke’s fury and Legion’s malice erupted together, forming a pressure capable of crushing even Alpha Omega Overgods into insanity.

Yet Cain did not retreat.

Golden-scarlet light burst from his body as his willpower surged to its limit.

The power of conquest.

The power of freedom.

The power of a man who had fought against fate itself countless times and refused to kneel.

"RUMBLE!"

The psychic storm intensified instantly.

The Lucid Dream became a battlefield between two supreme wills.

On one side stood Cain, wrapped in majestic scarlet-golden radiance that carried overwhelming might, endless ambition, and a brilliance that seemed capable of illuminating all existence.

On the other side stood the Chimera Will, engulfed in a dark orange radiance filled with corruption, destruction, hatred, and the madness of countless fallen souls.

The two lights collided repeatedly.

Every impact generated terrifying shock waves that spread throughout the Lucid Dream. Entire landscapes collapsed and reformed while psychic hurricanes tore through the skies.

Cain’s eyes narrowed as he pushed his willpower further.

However, the Chimera Will pushed back with terrifying force.

After all, Robuke and Legion were ancient monsters whose wills had existed for unimaginable lengths of time. Their hatred had fermented for millions upon millions of years, becoming something terrifyingly profound.

Meanwhile, Cain’s rise had been astonishingly fast.

Compared to those ancient entities, the age of his will was still young.

And soon, that difference began to show.

The dark orange light surged violently forward.

It crashed against Cain’s golden-scarlet radiance again and again until cracks began to spread through his aura. Slowly but surely, the darkness started invading Cain’s body.

Dark veins spread across his arms.

Corruption seeped into his flesh.

The hatred and madness of the Chimera Will attempted to flood his soul and overwrite his existence completely.

For the first time since the clash began, Cain was forced backward.

The Chimera Will’s roar shook the heavens as the dark orange radiance engulfed more and more of Cain’s figure.

It was not because Cain’s will was weaker.

Far from it.

If one compared only purity and intensity, Cain’s willpower surpassed both Legion and Robuke.

But the enemy possessed something he lacked.

Time.

Their hatred had existed for eons.

Their instincts for destruction had been refined endlessly through countless ages of suffering and madness.

And for a brief moment—

It seemed as though Cain would be consumed.

Yet just as the dark orange light reached his chest, the brilliance in Cain’s eyes suddenly intensified.

Then—

"BOOOOOOM!"

A pair of colossal wings erupted behind him.

The Wings of Chaos manifested in full glory.

Each feather radiated endless streams of memories, emotions, experiences, and wills. Countless voices echoed throughout the Lucid Dream as the power of the people connected to Cain surged into him.

The determination of Zarak.

The loyalty of Zero Mint and the Collapsing Lightning Emperor.

The fury of the warriors who had fought beside him since Aether.

The hopes of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance.

The Wings of Chaos allowed him to carry not only his own will, but the strength, experience, and resolve of all those connected to him.

And in that instant—

Cain’s will transcended.

The cracks in the scarlet-golden light vanished instantly.

Then the tide reversed.

"BOOOOOOM!"

The golden-scarlet radiance exploded outward with overwhelming force, pushing the dark orange light back for the first time.

The Chimera Will trembled.

For the first time since its birth, uncertainty appeared within its scarlet-golden eye.

Cain stepped forward.

Every movement carried absolute dominance.

The Wings of Chaos spread across the entire Lucid Dream, covering the heavens themselves while endless streams of scarlet-golden light poured into Cain’s body.

The Chimera Will roared furiously and unleashed all of its power.

Dark orange light exploded outward like a dying sun, flooding the Lucid Dream with corruption and destruction. Yet this time, the attack could no longer stop Cain’s advance.

The scarlet-golden light continued pushing forward relentlessly.

It flooded through the Chimera Will’s countless arms.

It spread across its wings.

It pierced through the darkness surrounding its body.

The monstrous entity struggled violently as Cain’s will invaded deeper and deeper into its existence, suppressing the madness and hatred within it through sheer overwhelming dominance.

The battle between the two supreme wills reached its climax.

Dread and horror appeared in the eye of the Chimera Will.

It wanted to run. More than anything else, it wanted to escape, abandoning any thought of resistance, because it understood exactly what would happen if the scarlet-golden light embodying the will of the Scarlet King completely consumed it.

Its existence would change forever.

The fragments of ego and personality originating from the entities once known as Legion and Robuke—fragments that had endured the dismantling of the Scarlet Throne and remained buried deep within the Chimera Will—would be broken down and reshaped into submission.

It would no longer be free.

It would become a loyal subordinate.

The Chimera Will did not want that.

It did not want to stop hating. It did not want to stop spreading malice and destruction with every breath it took. Hatred, fury, corruption, slaughter—those things were its very nature. They were all it had ever known.

Change was terrifying.

Unfortunately for the Chimera Will, there was nothing it could do.

The clash of wills had been unimaginably dangerous for Cain, but it had also been devastatingly effective against the ego of the Chimera Will. The scarlet-golden radiance continued advancing relentlessly, crushing every attempt at resistance.

Finally, the scarlet-golden light consumed every inch of the Chimera Will.

The monstrous psychic storm raging throughout the Lucid Dream gradually subsided. The violent psychic energy flooding the realm slowly calmed as Cain’s aura stabilized once more.

Only then did Cain lower his finger.

The moment he did, overwhelming exhaustion assaulted his body.

His vision blurred violently, and his knees nearly buckled beneath him. His mind rang endlessly, as if countless hammers were smashing against his brain from within.

The pain was immense.

It took several minutes before he was finally able to regain control over himself and stand properly once more.

Yet as Cain lifted his gaze toward the Chimera Will, a radiant smile appeared on his face, instantly washing away much of the exhaustion flooding his body.

He could see it clearly.

The countless wills and egos within the Chimera Will still existed, including the fragments originating from Legion and Robuke. None of them had been destroyed.

However, their hatred and hostility toward him had vanished completely.

Their egos had been cleansed and reborn beneath the Power of Conquest, branded with a single absolute instinct:

Obedience to the Scarlet King.

There would be no more defiance.

No more reckless attempts to break free and shatter his mind.

From this point onward, the entity before him would be a loyal servant, one that would fight by his side until death and beyond.

After resting for a few more minutes, Cain continued the process.

He summoned additional Will Beasts born from the Root’s abominations alongside the surviving Sky Demons, sending them one after another into the Chimera Will in order to strengthen it further.

The Chimera Will’s aura grew increasingly terrifying with every fusion.

Its body became larger and more stable while the pressure radiating from it intensified to an absurd level.

Finally, the last of the seven Sky Demons was fused into the Chimera Will.

The instant it happened—

"RUMBLE!"

The entire Lucid Dream shook violently again.

A stream of blood flowed from Cain’s nose as overwhelming pressure assaulted his mind and soul. Cracks even began to spread through portions of the psychic realm.

Yet instead of anger or concern, a smile appeared on Cain’s face.

The Chimera Will’s power had reached the absolute limit that his Lucid Dream could currently endure.

And that was excellent news.

"If the Lucid Dream manages to adapt and break through this pressure..." Cain muttered softly, the light in his eyes growing sharper and sharper as excitement burned within his heart.

"...then it might push my willpower beyond its current realm."

The smile on Cain’s face widened.

"Into the Fourth Realm."
