The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2629: Assault in the conquered worlds

Chapter 2629: Assault in the conquered worlds

As Cain focused on the Chimera Will and felt the overwhelming power radiating from the entity, the thrill and excitement in his heart only grew stronger. Every instinct in his body screamed for battle. He wanted to test this new power, to see just how far it could carry him.

However, he knew it would not be wise to do so near the Everstrife Empyrean World.

It did not take long for him to leave the world behind and march deep into the void. Eventually, he arrived at what appeared to be a massive asteroid field. Yet calling it an asteroid field hardly did it justice. The heavenly bodies drifting through the darkness were gargantuan, some as large as Primary Worlds, perhaps even larger.

"A remnant of the Great War?"

The thought crossed Cain’s mind, but he did not dwell on it for long. Instead, he stepped into the center of the field and immediately felt the immense gravitational pressure surrounding the region.

A smile appeared on his face.

The pressure would help restrain any collateral destruction once he unleashed his full power.

Taking a deep breath, Cain activated Resurrección.

Immediately, his body began to change as the power of his Alter Ego surged through his flesh and blood. Scarlet-golden markings spread across his skin while his physical abilities rose explosively. His muscles became denser, his senses sharper, and his body tougher than countless divine treasures.

Normally, this was the strongest state Cain could achieve through the power of his Lucid Dream and Alter Ego.

But now there was something more.

The Chimera Will manifested behind him.

The colossal entity loomed like an eldritch god in the void, radiating a terrifying pressure capable of crushing worlds. Then, as Cain extended his hand, the Chimera Will began to morph.

Storms of power spread in every direction.

Space itself trembled beneath the sheer might gathering around Cain’s grip. Cracks spread through reality while waves of psychic force distorted the surrounding void.

Slowly, the Chimera Will transformed into a weapon.

A monstrous double-headed spear.

Its shaft resembled a massive obsidian skeletal bone with a scarlet-golden eye embedded at its center. One spearhead looked like a jagged skeletal crescent forged from ash-gray stone, while the other resembled a savage draconic fang made of exposed crimson muscle and blackened bone.

The instant Cain wrapped his hand around the weapon, a tidal wave of power coursed through his body.

He felt capable of severing body and soul alike.

Destroying minds.

Burning bloodlines.

Erasing existence itself.

The next moment, Cain casually swung the spear.

"SHHHHH!"

Massive arcs of energy spread across the void, slicing through world-sized asteroids as though they were sheets of paper. Entire heavenly bodies split apart instantly before disintegrating into cosmic dust.

And that was merely the beginning.

The light in Cain’s eyes grew sharper as he focused on the spear.

After conquering the Chimera Will, he had already learned its name.

Now, he uttered it.

The moment the true name escaped his lips—

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!"

An explosion of power flooded the void.

It was so immense, so overwhelmingly destructive, that nothing could stop it.

The asteroid field, which had endured in the void for millions—perhaps billions—of years, was instantly consumed. Every heavenly body within the region was annihilated beneath waves of unimaginable power.

Space itself twisted violently.

The gravitational field collapsed.

Reality screamed beneath the force of the attack.

When everything finally calmed down, nothing remained.

Only silence.

Only emptiness.

Cain floated at the center of the destruction. Exhaustion weighed heavily on his body, as summoning the weapon’s true form had demanded far more energy than he had expected.

Yet none of that could erase the smile on his face.

"This power..."

Cain clenched his fists tightly, his eyes glowing with barely restrained excitement and thrill.

"This power is the last piece."

A sharp light burned within his gaze.

"I now have everything I need to move forward."

Without wasting another second, Cain turned back toward the Everstrife Empyrean World.

It was time for the final preparations.

Time to take the first step toward reclaiming the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe.

While the Scarlet King was filled with excitement and anticipation, the same could not be said for the leader of the invading forces that had already conquered three Empyrean Worlds.

Nito frowned deeply as he analyzed his next move.

Things had gone smoothly for him over the last several years. More and more territory within the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe had fallen under his control, while the Alliance had been unable to halt the advance of the Tenth Empyrean World.

Yet everything changed after the arrival of the Scarlet King.

Not only had Cain destroyed the Worlds of the Root—the primary source of cannon fodder for the invading army—but he had also defeated and consumed Robuke.

Even if Nito despised the Root, he could not deny the terrifying power of its upper ranks. Losing Robuke, a being capable of surpassing the Limit of the Third Realm, was a devastating blow.

Now he had to figure out how to recover from such a crippling loss.

"More Curse Eaters have awakened from their slumber during the last year," Nito muttered to himself. "And thanks to the laws of the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe, many have improved their cultivation. However..."

A deep frown appeared on his face.

"It is still not enough to face those two."

The faces of Cain and Noah surfaced in his mind.

That was the first major mistake made by the Curse Eaters.

Nito still believed Noah remained part of the Alliance.

Although underestimating an enemy was dangerous, overestimating them could also lead to hesitation and poor decisions. Still, even believing he might have to face both brothers at once, there was a limit to how much fear Nito would show.

"In forty-two days, our forces should receive a massive increase in power once the Curse Eaters complete their training," Nito said calmly.

A phantom Samsara Wheel slowly manifested behind him.

"We move then."

His eyes sharpened dangerously.

"And if I must face those two alone... then I will."

The Samsara Wheel began to spin faster.

"If necessary, I will go all out and unleash every secret card I possess."

Yet just as those thoughts crossed Nito’s mind, his eyes suddenly widened.

A message had reached him.

And what it contained shocked him to the core.

"They invaded one of my Empyrean Worlds?"

Nito could barely believe it.

He had invested immense effort into fortifying the conquered worlds, using treasures from the Tenth Empyrean World to transform them into nearly impregnable strongholds. Every layer of defense, every formation, and every channel of energy had been designed to ensure that any invading force would pay a catastrophic price.

Yet as he heard the name of the world under attack, a solemn expression appeared on his face.

It was the Empyrean World that had once belonged to Cipher.

The last world they had conquered.

Because it had been acquired most recently—and because there was a limit to the number of supreme treasures the Tenth Empyrean World could spare—that particular Empyrean World possessed weaker defenses compared to the other two.

Even so, the invasion was shocking.

For a brief moment, countless questions surfaced in Nito’s mind. How had the Alliance located the world? How had they breached the outer defenses? What kind of strategy was Cain attempting to employ?

However, he quickly pushed those thoughts aside.

The "how" no longer mattered.

The only thing that mattered now was responding.

Traveling between Empyrean Worlds would normally take an enormous amount of time, even for supreme experts. Yet the teleportation formations of the Tenth Empyrean World were powerful enough to bridge those impossible distances in an instant.

Without hesitation, Nito issued the command.

Immediately, the formations activated.

Vast streams of spatial power spread throughout the conquered territories as countless Curse Eaters began mobilizing across the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe. In less than two minutes, wave after wave of terrifying figures emerged inside the invaded Empyrean World.

Nito appeared at the forefront of the army.

His gaze swept across his warriors for only a moment before locking onto the enemy forces in the distance.

The instant he saw the Scarlet King and the troops standing behind him, a deep frown appeared on his face.

Even if there had not been enough time or resources to transform the entire world into a complete fortress, Nito had still ensured that its core laws and energy channels were under the Curse Eaters’ control.

Within this world, he and the other Curse Eaters could draw directly upon its life force and origin energy, massively increasing their power. At the same time, those same laws would suppress Cain and the Alliance.

Under normal circumstances, attacking them head-on inside this territory should have been suicide.

It simply did not make sense.

"There is something I am not seeing..."

Nito’s eyes sharpened as unease crept into his heart.

Unfortunately, standing still and waiting was not an option.

The Scarlet King had already launched the attack. If Nito hesitated now, the consequences could be catastrophic.

Clenching his fists tightly, Nito surged forward.

Behind him, the greatest warriors of the Curse Eaters followed without hesitation as their monstrous auras flooded the battlefield.
