The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2666: Cain vs the Demon King (I)

Chapter 2666: Cain vs the Demon King (I)

Just as Cain was considering the best use of his time, sharp cracking sounds began to echo across the crystalline landscape.

Both he and the Demon King turned toward the source at once.

The massive crystalline structure that housed the gate to the Red King’s Sacred Dimension had begun to crack. Thin fractures spread across its surface like veins, multiplying at an alarming speed as the entire structure started to compress inward.

Cain’s eyes narrowed.

Before either of them could make a move, the enormous construct imploded.

There was no explosion, no burst of energy, and no warning. The structure simply folded into itself, collapsing with absolute silence until nothing remained. Even the residual aura of the Sacred Dimension disappeared, leaving behind only empty space.

Cain stared at the place where the gateway had once stood.

The Red King was an incredibly enigmatic existence, and Cain still had countless questions he wanted to ask. The memories he had accidentally witnessed, those visions of people with white hair and crimson eyes, remained deeply engraved in his mind.

Cain released a faint sigh.

"I suppose I will have to wait until I reach the end of the tower."

He shook his head and forced himself to stop thinking about the Red King.

There was no point in dwelling on questions that could not be answered at the moment. His focus needed to remain on the Golden Current. If he could master that inheritance, then he would gain the ability to move his Apex Hybrid Body into the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe and finally end the war against the Tenth Empyrean World.

"We should leave."

The Demon King nodded at Cain’s words. However, before departing, he waved his hand and released a vast stream of grey power that flooded the entire continent.

Cain watched as the energy spread across the crystalline landmass before slowly nodding.

The Demon King’s power concealed their presence and distorted every form of clairvoyance, divination, and soul-based observation. Anyone attempting to investigate what had happened here would only find false traces and fragmented information.

Cain was not afraid of people discovering that he had obtained the Red King’s inheritance. Still, keeping it secret would save him a great deal of trouble, at least for the time being.

With that matter settled, the two figures vanished from the crystalline continent.

---

Several peaceful weeks passed in the Crimson World until a massive tremor suddenly spread through the Ninth Realm.

It felt as though the sky itself were shattering into pieces.

Yet the disturbance did not come from above.

It came from below.

The reason soon became clear.

A massive Divine Kingdom had risen from the lower realms and reached the highest realm of the Crimson World.

Countless eyes turned toward it.

Ascending to the Ninth Realm was not merely a matter of possessing immense power. It also required influence, resources, and the ability to sustain a Divine Kingdom at such a height. The higher a kingdom rose, the more energy it consumed from the Crimson World. If too many Divine Kingdoms occupied the Ninth Realm, the distribution of energy would become unstable.

For that reason, it was not uncommon for powerful factions to attack newcomers attempting to ascend.

However, the moment the inhabitants of the Ninth Realm saw the nature of the Divine Kingdom, every hostile thought vanished.

It was not one Divine Kingdom.

It was two.

Two Divine Kingdoms had been fused into a single massive golden realm, their boundaries intertwined so perfectly that they appeared to be one entity. Vast golden light flowed through the kingdom, and the aura it emitted was so pure and majestic that even powerful True Depravitas could not help but feel pressure in their souls.

At the center of one of the kingdoms stood a colossal statue.

It depicted a young man with majestic wings, white hair, and crimson eyes. A scarlet crown rested upon his head, while an aura of supreme authority radiated from his figure.

Everyone immediately understood whose Divine Kingdom it was.

The Scarlet King.

The second Divine Kingdom belonged to Meylin, one of the most important figures among the True Depravitas and a woman whose power had already earned the respect of the entire Crimson World.

Together, their Divine Kingdoms created an overwhelming presence.

There was no one foolish enough to challenge their ascension.

However, ascending to the Ninth Realm was not the end of the matter.

Soon after reaching the upper realm, the massive Divine Kingdom began to move toward the landmass itself.

That action caused the expressions of countless True Depravitas to change.

Taking a place in the void of the Ninth Realm was already an incredible achievement. Even Alpha Omega Overgods would struggle to obtain such a position. However, implanting a Divine Kingdom into the landmass and transforming it into an Eternal Kingdom was something entirely different.

It required authorization from the highest ruler of the Crimson World.

The Demon King.

Even Late Alpha Omega Overgod True Depravitas could not ignore that rule. It was an ironclad law established by the Demon King to maintain order and fairness within the Crimson World.

Of course, no one believed that the Scarlet King would have trouble receiving permission.

"The Scarlet King has been absent for a long time. Perhaps he simply does not understand the current rules."

One of the True Depravitas spoke to his companions while staring at the advancing Divine Kingdom.

"We should inform him before things become complicated," another agreed.

They were about to send a message toward Cain when a massive explosion illuminated the sky.

The shockwave that followed was so immense that even the strongest beings in the Ninth Realm widened their eyes.

The entire firmament trembled.

Two incredibly powerful auras collided high above the landmass, spreading across the heavens in waves that stretched farther than the eye could see. The clash became more intense with every passing second, and the power being unleashed was so vast that it cast majestic shadows across the entire Ninth Realm.

Shock and confusion filled the eyes of the True Depravitas.

Then they realized the origin of the collision.

The two powers belonged to none other than Cain and the Demon King.

The Scarlet King and the ruler of the Crimson World were clashing.

The True Depravitas did not know what to do.

On one side stood their leader, the Forefather of the True Depravita Race and the most powerful ruler of the Crimson World.

On the other stood the Scarlet King, the Hero who had saved their universe from the Ancient One.

More importantly, no one understood why the two were fighting.
