The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2679: An obsession that transcend death itself

Chapter 2679: An obsession that transcend death itself

Samsara Lord

Uttering those words felt like crashing into an unbreakable wall.

The realization that the figure before him was connected to the Samsara Lord created a pressure Cain had never experienced. It was the kind of obstacle that could crush the will before the battle had even begun, a summit so impossibly high that even the Scarlet King—who had already shattered incarnations of Fourth Realm entities and pushed his battle power into that realm during the fight with Nito—found himself unable to glimpse its true height.

For a moment, doubt threatened to take root within him.

"No!"

Cain suddenly shouted as he shook his head.

His willpower erupted.

Scarlet light surged through his consciousness, burning away hesitation and fear as he forced himself to look beyond the overwhelming aura surrounding the entity. He took a deep breath and stared directly into the three eyes of the incarnation.

Then he noticed something.

There was no ego.

No independent personality.

A massive weight immediately lifted from Cain’s shoulders.

"It might carry the true essence of the Samsara Lord’s power, but it clearly does not possess the Lord’s ego or will."

That realization did not mean the danger had disappeared.

Far from it.

The incarnation had been forged from the remains of Nito’s body, soul, and Primordial Essence, and there was no way to tell in which way it had affected the entity.

Cain did not make a reckless move.

His condition was simply too terrible.

His body was damaged, his energy reserves were nearly empty, and his soul had endured enough pressure to break more than once. Even a minor mistake could end his life.

"It doesn’t seem to have any killing intent," Cain muttered as he carefully studied the incarnation. "Perhaps I can avoid a confrontation. At least until I..."

Cain’s thought stopped.

Something changed.

The three eyes on the flawless face of the Samsara Lord’s incarnation began to glow.

It was not a brilliant radiance.

It was not an overwhelming eruption of power.

Instead, it resembled an ember.

The final spark left behind after a massive fire had already been extinguished.

To most beings, it would have meant nothing.

To Cain, however, it was unmistakable.

His eyes sharpened.

"A desire."

His expression became solemn.

"A purpose."

The thought sent a chill through him.

"A drive so intense, so overwhelmingly powerful, that even death could not erase it."

It was not difficult to determine where that desire came from.

"Even after his soul was shattered and his Primordial Essence crumbled, his sense of duty transcended death itself."

Cain slowly clenched his fists.

Nito had been his enemy.

He nearly destroyed the entire Nine Empyrean Suns Universe. Cain had no regrets about killing the Curse Eater.

Yet even then, he could not deny the terrifying nature of the Curse Eater’s determination.

Nito had accepted the destruction of his own identity if it meant completing the mission entrusted to him by the King of the Tenth Empyrean World.

Now, with his ego and consciousness gone, that single purpose was all that remained.

It was the core of the incarnation.

And unfortunately for Cain...

It did not hesitate.

The incarnation took a single step.

That was all it needed to erase the distance between the two

Cain’s eyes widened.

A terrifying sensation surged through his instincts as every part of his body screamed for him to retreat.

The enemy standing before him was not something he could defeat.

Not now.

Perhaps not even at his peak.

Cain had barely any strength remaining.

Yet the Flow still remained.

Golden light burned within his eyes.

Using the Flow did not require enormous amounts of physical energy. As long as Cain could maintain the clarity of his consciousness, he could still perceive the currents of causality around him.

Only through prediction could he survive.

Only through the Flow could he even hope to react.

But then shock appeared in his eyes.

The information provided by the Flow was unlike anything he had ever encountered.

Cain had already faced enemies capable of concealing themselves from the Endless River, beings who could distort causality and disappear from the natural current of existence.

The Samsara Lord’s incarnation did not hide.

It did something far worse.

It twisted causality itself.

Cain’s pupils contracted.

"It is as if..."

His mind raced.

"...it is attacking me from five different directions at once!"

The Flow showed Cain numerous possibilities, each one apparently valid.

Five potential attacks.

Five possible trajectories.

Five different outcomes.

Yet none of them revealed which one was the true attack.

The incarnation did not seem to possess a conventional movement technique.

It was as though the concept of cause and effect had become secondary to its martial skills.

Cain could not decipher it.

And before he could formulate another response—

"Boom."

A fist struck his chest.

The explosion was small.

Almost silent.

Yet Cain immediately felt the difference.

"Puchak!"

Blood erupted from his mouth.

His entire body trembled.

He looked downward in disbelief.

"That strike..."

His mind raced.

"Every ounce of force was phased through my muscles and bones and landed directly on my internal organs."

Cain’s pupils trembled.

"How did he do that?"

The answer was terrifying.

Even without an ego or independent will, the incarnation retained the martial knowledge engraved into the Samsara Lord’s essence.

The skills of the Samsara Lord had survived.

And those skills were so profound that even Fourth Realm beings would be forced to acknowledge them.

That first strike had only been the beginning.

Before Cain could stabilize himself, another attack arrived.

This time, the fist struck his head.

"Boom!"

The force shook his brain and soul simultaneously.

Cain’s vision went black for a moment.

Then another strike landed.

"Boom!"

Another.

"Boom!"

And another.

"Boom!"

The incarnation launched a relentless barrage.

Each strike contained terrifying precision.

There was no wasted movement.

No unnecessary energy.

Every attack targeted a specific weakness within Cain’s body, using just enough power to penetrate his defenses and damage the internal structures beneath them.

Cain tried to evade.

He attempted to predict.

He attempted to use the Flow to identify the true attack.

Nothing worked.

His battered body was pushed beyond its limits as the barrage continued.

Ten.

Twenty.

Thirty.

By the time the thirty-third blow landed, every vital organ within Cain’s body had suffered damage.

His lungs ruptured.

His heart trembled.

His kidneys shattered.

Even his Divine Soul shook under the repeated internal impacts.

The incarnation did not give him even a moment to recover.

It suddenly vanished.

Cain barely managed to twist his head.

The Samsara Lord’s incarnation had appeared behind him.

Its right hand extended toward his back.

A sphere of purple plasma condensed within its palm.

The energy inside the sphere was so dense that space around it collapsed inward.

The incarnation released the attack.

A massive beam of purple light erupted from its hand and engulfed the Scarlet King.

The blast tore through his body and dragged him downward at terrifying speed.

Cain’s battered figure became a streak of light as the beam drove him toward the Fallen Empyrean World.
