The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2680: The Incarnation’s new target

Chapter 2680: The Incarnation’s new target

"BOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!"

Before the warriors of the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe or the Curse Eaters of the Tenth Empyrean World could fully process the sudden turn of events, the beam carrying the Scarlet King crashed directly into the Ouroboros Stronghold.

The fortress possessed defenses capable of withstanding attacks from Peak Third Realm life forms for hours, perhaps even days. Its walls, formations, and barriers had been created from treasures accumulated by the Cult of Ouroboros over countless years, and after Cain had taken control of the Realm Heart, those defenses had been pushed to an even higher level.

But the power carried within that purple beam was not something conventional defenses could withstand.

The energy of the Samsara Lord did not merely possess overwhelming destructive power. It carried an authority that transcended the laws and defenses of anything beneath the Fourth Realm.

The beam struck the stronghold and buried itself deep into the land.

Every barrier it encountered collapsed.

Massive buildings shattered.

Ancient structures were reduced to dust.

The ground split open for millions of kilometers as an earthquake of catastrophic proportions spread across the continent.

And that was only the beginning.

The next instant, the entire landmass began to glow with an ominous purple radiance.

The energy contained within the beam detonated.

A colossal wave of Samsara Force erupted from the impact zone, engulfing the surrounding continent in purple flames.

The battlefield between the Curse Eaters and the warriors of the Six Sacred Races was located far from the Ouroboros Stronghold, yet the aftermath still reached them. The shockwave rolled across the continent and struck both armies, sending countless warriors tumbling through the air as purple flames wrapped around their bodies.

The flames were terrifying.

Even Alpha Omega Overgods felt their flesh beginning to burn beneath them.

The battle immediately came to a standstill.

Both sides instinctively retreated, placing as much distance as possible between themselves and the expanding destruction.

Leonidas, Bael, Amon, and every other powerhouse of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance turned toward the blast zone.

Their expressions were frantic.

Their souls searched through the destruction.

They were looking for one person.

The Scarlet King.

Yet despite their desperate desire to rush forward and find their king, none of them dared take even a single step.

The danger was simply too great.

The Incarnation of the Samsara Lord still hovered above them.

No one knew what it would do next.

The tension remained palpable.

Both sides watched the incarnation carefully, knowing that a single reckless movement could trigger a response that none of them could survive.

For the Curse Eaters, the situation appeared almost miraculous.

The incarnation had neutralized the Scarlet King.

Their greatest obstacle had been removed.

The balance of the battlefield had changed completely.

However, the Curse Eaters were ancient warriors, and many among them had fought during the Great War billions of years ago. They understood one fundamental truth better than most.

The enemy of their enemy was not necessarily their ally.

The incarnation belonged to neither army.

It was a separate existence, driven by a purpose left behind by Nito.

That distinction became obvious when the figure slowly turned toward the Curse Eaters.

His eyes passed over them.

Nothing happened.

There was no killing intent.

No goodwill.

No recognition.

No sense of brotherhood.

The incarnation simply looked at them.

Then his gaze shifted.

He looked toward the warriors of the Six Sacred Races.

Every warrior instinctively clenched their fists.

Their hearts filled with anger.

They had just witnessed their king being blasted into their greatest stronghold, and the entity responsible for it was now standing before them as though nothing had happened.

Yet beneath that anger was a much deeper understanding.

There was nothing they could do.

This was not merely a Fourth Realm life form.

Its martial mastery was on a level that terrified even the strongest warriors among them. If every warrior present attacked simultaneously, they would likely die before landing a single meaningful blow.

The difference in skill was simply too immense.

Fortunately, the incarnation’s reaction toward the Six Sacred Races was exactly the same as its reaction toward the Curse Eaters.

Nothing.

The intent inherited from Nito was not powerful enough to implant a sense of belonging toward the Tenth Empyrean World, nor was it strong enough to create an instinctive hatred toward the Six Sacred Races.

It had only one purpose.

Complete Nito’s final mission.

For now, neither army was part of that purpose.

When the incarnation looked away from them without making any move, the warriors of the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe could not help but release a quiet breath of relief.

Perhaps they could survive this.

Perhaps the incarnation would simply leave.

Then, suddenly, the figure froze.

The air around it became still.

A faint glow appeared within its eyes.

The remnants of Nito’s intent stirred.

The incarnation slowly turned its head.

Its gaze moved across the battlefield until it settled upon a single figure.

Meylin.

The True Depravita of Hope immediately understood.

She had become a target.

Nito’s remaining intent was centered upon one thing: the victory of the Tenth Empyrean World.

That intent had not been powerful enough to compel the incarnation to attack the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance as a whole, but it was strong enough to identify those individuals Nito had regarded as the greatest obstacles to his mission.

The first was naturally Cain.

The second...

Was Meylin.

The warriors of the Six Sacred Races noticed the change immediately.

They did not hesitate.

Several of the strongest figures began moving toward Meylin, preparing to stand between her and the incarnation.

They knew they could not defeat it.

They knew they might not even survive a single exchange.

But Meylin was one of their leaders, and they would not stand aside while she faced death alone.

Before they could take a single step, however, a sharp voice rang across the battlefield.

"Stop."

Meylin’s voice carried absolute authority.

The command was not loud, yet it possessed enough conviction that the warriors halted immediately.

She could feel the intent within the incarnation’s eyes.

There was no doubt.

It had identified her as a threat.

And it was coming for her.

Meylin stared directly at the entity.

There was no fear in her eyes.

Not because she believed she had even the slightest chance of defeating it.

She knew better.

Even at her peak, she could not fight an existence carrying the unfiltered essence of the Samsara Lord.

Meylin slowly straightened her wounded body.

"If he falls to this thing," she said calmly, "then I will follow him."

She took a deep breath.

Her seven wings spread behind her, though their radiance was faint compared to what it had been before the battle.

The Flame of Hope flickered weakly around her body.

Yet even in that state, she refused to kneel.

"If I am going to fall..."

Her eyes burned with determination.

"I will do it with my head held high."

The incarnation showed no reaction.

It possessed no ego.

No independent will.

No fear.

It simply had a goal.

And it would fulfill it.

The entity took a step forward.

Then stopped.

Its gaze suddenly shifted toward the fading blast that still covered the Ouroboros Stronghold.
