Chapter 1333: Great Shen Empire: Dark Cube
Chapter 1333: Great Shen Empire: Dark Cube
Four brilliant lights streaked across the dark sky, descending toward their location at incredible speed.
It was impossible to ignore their presence. Each of the four lights radiated the aura of a Ninth Shackle Realm expert, and none of them were ordinary practitioners. Every one of them possessed strength at the very least equivalent to an Intermediate Ninth Shackle Realm expert.
“Who are they?” Kers Time muttered, frowning.
Thousand Earth seemed to realize something. He glanced at Souta from the corner of his eyes, trying to discern his reaction. However, the armor covering Souta’s face made it impossible to read his expression.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
The four lights descended past them and crashed into the ground like falling meteors. The impact sent shock waves sweeping across the devastated landscape, kicking up clouds of dust and scattering rubble in every direction.
Soon, the four newcomers revealed themselves.
All of them wore the same attire: long black-and-blue coats with white long-sleeved shirts underneath. Their weapons differed, but their matching uniforms and coordinated arrival made it obvious that they belonged to the same organization.
One of them stepped forward.
He was a middle-aged man with a thick beard and mustache, carrying a short sword at his waist and a round shield on his arm. His sharp eyes swept across Kers Time and Thousand Earth before finally settling on Souta.
“So you’re the Blood Lightning Monster?” the man asked, his brows furrowing deeply.
He and the three people behind him could feel the tremendous energy permeating the surroundings. Even without witnessing the battle firsthand, the chaotic fluctuations in the air told them everything they needed to know.
This had been an extraordinary fight.
The sheer intensity of the energy left no room for doubt that the combatants were far beyond ordinary Ninth Shackle Realm experts.
Souta smiled as he regarded the four newcomers. He took a step forward, and the armor covering his face gradually retracted, revealing his features.
“I neither accept nor deny that name. People simply decided to call me that.”
He paused briefly, his gaze sweeping across the four newcomers.
“Anyway, why are you here, Executors of the Council of High-World?”
“Y-You!! How do you—”
One of the four newcomers stared at Souta in shock. He raised his hand and pointed an accusing finger at him, but the woman beside him immediately covered his mouth before he could say anything more.
Only then did he realize that he had lost his composure.
The middle-aged man shook his head before turning his attention back to Souta.
“We were sent here by your enemies,” he said bluntly. “Our mission is to kill you.”
Meanwhile, Kers Time and Thousand Earth remained where they were, silently observing the situation.
If these four unknown experts could keep Souta occupied, even for a short while, it would work in their favor.
‘If they fight, we’ll have an opportunity to eliminate the Blood Lightning Monster,’ Kers Time thought, his eyes narrowing. “I hope those four can at least hold him back, but I don’t expect much from them.”
Thousand Earth nodded in agreement with his companion’s assessment.
Silence fell over the battlefield.
Souta didn’t immediately respond to the middle-aged man’s declaration. Instead, he glanced at Kers Time and Thousand Earth, who stood some distance away.
He could easily guess what those two were thinking.
Two formidable Ninth Shackle Realm experts were already giving him trouble. Now, four more had appeared, each possessing strength at the Intermediate Ninth Shackle Realm or above.
The situation was becoming increasingly unfavorable for him.
After a brief pause, Souta shifted his gaze back to the four newcomers, studying them with a calm, unreadable expression.
“My enemies? Well, I have many enemies, but I have no equals. They fear me like a judgment from the heavens, a prophet of doom, an inevitable end to everything. They say I’ll die fighting a Fifth Stage Monster. They say I’ll perish under the relentless hunt of the Demon Army. Yet here I am, still alive.”
Souta spread his arms wide.
Armor enveloped his face, multiple artifacts gleamed across his body, and an overwhelming amount of [Douion] erupted from within him. The sheer force of his energy distorted the surrounding air, sending waves of pressure sweeping across the devastated battlefield.
“I am SOUTA, an Emperor of Monsters and the sole Ruler of the Blood Realm!”
This time, his name would resurface once again.
The threat he represented and the potential he possessed had instilled fear in countless hearts. His notorious name would dredge up memories that many had desperately tried to bury, reminding them of the monster they had once hoped to forget.
“All the cast members are here! What perfect timing! Now, there’s only one thing left for me to wait for!”
Souta grinned widely, excitement blazing in his eyes.
“Let me see it!”
He didn’t know all the details, but he had a rough idea of what was about to happen. And he wanted to witness it firsthand. He wanted to see the appearance of that higher being with his own eyes.
Would he die?
Probably.
But it didn’t matter to him anymore.
RUMBLE!
Suddenly, the entire central region trembled.
Kers Time and Thousand Earth turned their heads, surprise evident on their faces.
The four unknown figures exchanged confused glances. None of them had any idea what was happening. They scanned their surroundings, desperately trying to locate the source of this unusual energy.
“What is this?!”
“Sir, I have a bad feeling about this…”
“We need to complete our mission as soon as possible. Leader Fer is still outside, buying us time.”
Their furious gazes returned to Souta, who stood motionless in the air with his arms spread wide.
BANG!!!
A woman’s figure burst out from beneath the ruins of the royal capital.
She held a spirit in her left hand, while a dark cube floated above her right palm. A wide grin spread across her face as she stared at the spirit she had captured.
“So, you’ve been hiding there all this time. How did you bypass the sensing capabilities of the [Sovereign Rune Formation]?”
The spirit lifted her head and smiled.
“It’s simple. If you had bothered to use your brain, you would have figured it out.”
“Well, it doesn’t matter anymore.”
The woman narrowed her eyes and casually threw the spirit aside.
She then lowered her gaze to the dark cube floating above her palm, her attention fixed entirely on the mysterious object.
…
Thousand Earth and Kers Time immediately recognized the woman.
Blood Lotus.
She was the same woman who had invaded the royal capital alongside Anti-Mage.
Judging by the situation, she had apparently killed the Emperor of the Great Shen Empire and successfully obtained the very thing they had been searching for.
Meanwhile, the four unknown figures who had just arrived exchanged bewildered glances. They couldn’t make sense of what was unfolding before them, much less understand what was about to happen.
They had arrived in the middle of something far beyond their expectations, and the situation was rapidly spiraling out of their control.
…
On the other hand, Souta eagerly anticipated what would happen next. He made no move this time, choosing instead to watch everything unfold before his eyes.
‘This is it!’
‘Where are you? And how are you going to do it?’
Almost everyone was here now. The four newcomers from outside, the Gluttony Army, and those things that would arrive…
It would be a tremendous challenge.
But Souta was ready to face it.
He would use this battle to push himself to his limits and hone his skills against powerful opponents.
…
Blood Lotus smiled broadly as she gazed at the dark cube in her hand. They had finally reclaimed it.
This object was connected to that Monster Lord, and if they could make proper use of it, they would gain a terrifying weapon.
Finding it again had been no easy task.
The spirit had suppressed the energy leaking from the cube, preventing them from detecting its presence. That was also the reason the [Sovereign Rune Formation] had failed to sense the spirit. In fact, if they had been able to utilize the formation’s full capabilities, they would have detected it long ago.
Unfortunately, they hadn’t been able to do so. As a result, finding the cube again had taken considerable time and effort.
It was only during her battle against the Emperor that Blood Lotus discovered the spirit’s location.
And now, after all that searching, the object was finally in her hands.
“After months of playing hide-and-seek, it still ended up in my hands.”
She enveloped the dark cube in her energy, intending to seal off its presence and protect it. But just as her energy wrapped around the object, the cube suddenly emitted a terrifying fluctuation of energy.
Ohm!!
Blood Lotus’s expression changed drastically. She hurriedly clasped both hands around the cube, pouring her mana into it in an attempt to suppress the surging energy.
“What… is happening?”
She gritted her teeth as the dark cube continued to tremble in her grasp.
Suddenly, a voice rang out from below.
“It’s too late. The dark cube isn’t what you think it is. Why do you think Lord Gluttony hid it after using it only once?”
The voice paused briefly before continuing, carrying a hint of mockery.
“You wanted to use it for your own purposes, but I’ve already made a few adjustments to it.”
