The Evolution Of A Goblin To The Peak

Chapter 1334: Great Shen Empire: Lord of the Wood

Chapter 1334: Great Shen Empire: Lord of the Wood

Blood Lotus turned toward the ground when she heard those words. Her gaze fell upon a woman with striking red hair, who was looking up at her with a faint smile.

“Red Mist!! You’ve finally shown yourself!!”

Blood Lotus recognized the woman immediately. She had assumed that Red Mist had already left the area, but it seemed that she had been hiding among the people of the Great Shen Empire all along.

Red Mist raised her hand and crushed something between her fingers.

Crack!

A smile spread across her face.

“You don’t understand that thing. You want its power? Did you even ask that being for permission? Fine, I’ll let you face it yourself. If you think you can control this power, then you’re sorely mistaken.”

Suddenly, the air grew sluggish.

Blood Lotus’s face turned deathly pale as she stared at the dark cube she had been desperately trying to suppress.

“NOOOO!!!”

Her desperate scream echoed through the ruins as a terrifying force erupted from the dark cube, instantly shattering the mana she had used to contain it.

An immense torrent of best feram flooded the surroundings like a raging tide, sweeping through everything in its path.

Cracks spread across the fabric of space as the overwhelming force engulfed Blood Lotus. She struggled to resist, but her efforts were utterly futile. She couldn’t even move, much less escape the terrifying power unleashed before her.

Watching the unfolding catastrophe, Red Mist’s smile grew wider.

“You see… Lord Gluttony hid it so he could use it in the future. Unfortunately, he never got the chance.”

She tilted her head slightly, her gaze fixed on Blood Lotus.

“I offer you and your people’s bodies, Blue Shadow Killer. What do you think? Did you really believe I didn’t know that the original Blood Lotus had perished several months ago? You turned her body into one of your puppets.”

Red Mist’s smile grew colder.

“And now, this puppet of yours will perish along with everyone else. I tampered with that thing. Did you honestly think I wouldn’t try to do something with it myself?”

Red Mist stepped back, watching as the cracks in space widened with every passing moment.

Then, in the next instant, space shattered.

Hundreds of pitch-black tentacles burst through the ruptured space, writhing violently as they reached into this land.

BANG!!

Blood Lotus didn’t even have time to react before the tentacles pierced her body.

Her face twisted with fury and disbelief, but her expression quickly faded as her body began to shrivel. The luster drained from her skin, and her flesh withered at a terrifying pace until she resembled nothing more than a dried corpse.

Gone.

She was gone just like that.

A powerful expert who had killed the Emperor of the Great Shen Empire had perished in the blink of an eye.

SHIIIIIEEEEEERRRRKKKKHHHH!!!

A strange, ear-piercing shriek reverberated throughout the entire central region.

Souta, Thousand Earth, Kers Time, and the four newcomers from outside suddenly felt a wave of dizziness wash over them.

“This…?!”

“A Monster Lord…?”

Everyone who heard the shriek felt a stabbing pain in their heads, as though something were driving countless needles into their skulls.

Ordinary people, however, couldn’t withstand the incomprehensible entity’s cry.

They screamed in madness, clawing desperately at their faces until their skin peeled away. Some collapsed to the ground, while others continued shrieking in agony. Before long, their brains ruptured under the unbearable strain, and their lifeless bodies crumpled to the ground.

The same catastrophe unfolded in the surrounding cities.

Shen Yao and Voltarion abruptly halted their battle. Both turned their heads toward the central region, sensing the sudden deaths of countless survivors.

A strange headache assaulted them, accompanied by a wave of dizziness that threatened to throw them off balance.

Shen Yao raised her head, her expression growing grim as she sensed the immense best feram surging in the distance.

“This energy level…?”

She had felt a similar level of energy before, back when she encountered the higher beings in the Heavenly Court. But there was one crucial difference.

Those beings had suppressed their energy to avoid affecting their surroundings.

This entity wasn’t suppressing anything.

“A Monster Lord?! How can a being of that level appear here?!”

A chill ran down Shen Yao’s spine. She suddenly felt as though something was watching her from afar, its gaze piercing through the distance and settling directly upon her.

Even Voltarion, who had been fighting her moments ago, was stunned by this unexpected development.

“Did they locate it…?! But this wasn’t part of the plan.”

He knew that the object they had been searching for was connected to a higher being. However, he had never imagined that their mission would lead to the appearance of a Monster Lord.

Had the plan failed?

What exactly was happening over there?

…

On the other side, Xue Yi and her opponent were equally alarmed by the overwhelming pressure filling the atmosphere.

“Damn…!!” Xue Yi exclaimed, her eyes widening in disbelief. “I didn’t sign up for this… A Monster Lord appearing here wasn’t something I ever expected!”

Retreat was the first thing that came to her mind.

She couldn’t be blamed for thinking that way. This was a Monster Lord they were talking about. If such a terrifying existence decided to rampage through the land, there was no guarantee that she would escape alive, no matter what she did.

The entire region could collapse under its overwhelming might, and there would be nothing she could do to stop it.

‘I need to get out of here.’

Her gaze swept across the devastated surroundings as a grim realization settled over her.

This place, this entire country, was already doomed.

Only a select few in the central region would survive the catastrophe that was about to unfold.

…

Numerous tentacles writhed through the enormous cracks in space, their pitch-black forms twisting and coiling as they reached into the fabric of space. The atmosphere grew unbearably oppressive, as though the very fabric of reality was struggling to withstand the presence of something that should never have emerged.

Red Mist stared at the terrifying sight and took a deep breath.

A spirit flew toward her and stopped beside her.

“You’re too late. I almost died!”

Red Mist flashed an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry, Fiamma. I couldn’t reveal myself, or there was a chance the plan would fail. I could only make my move once Blood Lotus tried to probe the cube with her senses.”

“It’s fine. In the end, you still summon the Monster Lord here,” Fiamma replied.

With that, she flew into Red Mist’s body.

Red Mist apologized once more before turning her attention back to the spatial cracks.

When she had obtained the dark cube, she finally had the opportunity to inspect and analyze it thoroughly. After conducting extensive research, she discovered that the object was connected to a terrifying existence.

The very same being that had appeared in the three theaters.

It possessed numerous titles.

The Lord of the Woods.

The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young.

The All-Mother Goddess.

The Mutated Fertile Goddess.

The Primal Birth Lord.

The Black Abundant Lord Watcher.

Its name was Shub-Niggurath, a terrifying Monster Lord from the distant past.

The Ruler of Gluttony had also learned about the Lord of the Woods through the dark cube. By following the connection between the artifact and its master, he had discovered where the Monster Lord was sealed and used that connection to initiate a ritual to unseal it.

However, the Ruler of Gluttony had never intended to return the cube to its original owner.

He had other plans for it.

And now…

Through a series of careful adjustments, Red Mist had used the dark cube to summon the Lord of the Woods into this land. It wasn’t something she had wanted to do, but the Gluttony Army had backed her into a corner, leaving her with little choice.

Crack!!

The cracks in space spread wider as monstrous figures began pouring out one after another.

Their sizes varied, but they all shared the same grotesque characteristics. Each creature was composed of a pitch-black mass of flesh, with dozens or even hundreds of tentacles writhing across its back. Some possessed eyes scattered across their bodies, while others had none at all. However, they all shared one horrifying feature: three to ten enormous mouths scattered across their misshapen forms.

As the creatures descended upon the land, the ground shook violently beneath their weight. Their immense energy surged outward, spreading through the surroundings like an invisible tide of destruction.

Ohm!

In just a few seconds, more than a hundred monstrous creatures had already emerged.

Nine of them were Fifth Stage monsters, while the rest were Fourth Stage or below.

And they were still coming.

More grotesque silhouettes crowded the cracks in space, their writhing tentacles reaching into the land as they forced their way through the ruptured space.

Then came the screams.

Eerie shrieks erupted from the countless mouths of the monsters, overlapping into a cacophony that seemed to pierce the very fabric of reality.

Everyone who heard those cries felt a sharp, stabbing pain in their minds, as though invisible claws were tearing through their consciousness.

It was horrifying.
