Chapter 1342: Great Shen Empire: Thousand Earth
Chapter 1342: Great Shen Empire: Thousand Earth
“Let’s go!!”
Souta laughed in response.
His sword flashed relentlessly, and within a single second, he swung it tens of thousands of times.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Fists and sword clashed fiercely, unleashing violent sparks of energy that scattered in every direction.
There were no fancy techniques or elaborate skills involved. This was a pure contest of firepower. Both of them were on the verge of exhaustion, yet their raw strength remained terrifying enough to send the surrounding Dark Youngs flying with every exchange.
Their movements were blindingly fast, and every attack carried tremendous force. Neither held anything back. Souta and Thousand Earth were fighting with everything they had left.
Within seconds, Thousand Earth’s fists were drenched in blood. Numerous cuts appeared across his arms as Souta’s sword repeatedly pierced his tough flesh. He immediately recognized that Souta’s weapon was of high grade; otherwise, it wouldn’t have been able to cut through his body so easily.
“You’re not regenerating? Have you finally run out of strength?” Thousand Earth asked with a grin.
“Why don’t you take a guess?” Souta replied with a light laugh.
Inwardly, however, Souta was surprised that Thousand Earth still had enough energy to keep fighting.
To think that he could still keep up with Souta, even though Souta had the Monster Orb, Nebula Heart, and Primordian supporting him.
Thousand Earth was truly an extraordinary opponent.
It was simply amazing.
Thousand Earth possessed an enormous amount of energy, almost comparable to Souta’s own. How was that possible? Souta had no idea. But honestly, it didn’t matter to him.
BOOM!! BOOM!!
The two continued their fierce clash despite the growing number of Dark Youngs surrounding them. Initial and Intermediate Fifth Stage Dark Youngs joined the fray, forcing both combatants to heighten their senses and accelerate the pace of their battle.
Thousand Earth was already heavily injured, while Souta was no longer wearing his Emperor Armor. Both were far from their peak condition, and their remaining energy was rapidly dwindling. As a result, they could no longer eliminate Intermediate Fifth Stage Dark Youngs as effortlessly as they had before.
Even so, neither showed any intention of backing down.
…
More than a hundred kilometers away, Kers Time hovered in the air, watching the battle unfolding atop the fallen half of the central region.
A hundred kilometers was an enormous distance for ordinary people, making it impossible for them to see anything clearly. But for an expert of Kers Time’s caliber, such a distance was insignificant. He could observe the battle with remarkable clarity despite being so far away.
‘Luckily, I managed to escape in time. But those two…’
Kers Time frowned as he watched the battlefield.
“Those two are insane!!”
He wasn’t the only one who thought so. Voltarion, Shen Yao, Xue Yi, and the handful of others who had managed to escape in time shared the same opinion. They couldn’t believe that Souta and Thousand Earth were still fighting under such circumstances.
The two were surrounded by hundreds of Dark Youngs, yet neither showed the slightest intention of retreating. Instead, they continued exchanging thousands of blows, their figures flashing through the air at blinding speeds.
Every time they moved, Dark Youngs fell in their wake, their monstrous bodies torn apart by the devastating attacks unleashed during the relentless clash.
Even while fighting for their lives against the encroaching horde, Souta and Thousand Earth refused to stop their duel.
It was as if nothing else existed in their minds except the desire to tear each other apart. Neither the encroaching horde nor the looming presence of the Monster Lord could stop them. Blood sprayed through the air with every collision, and the ground beneath their feet continued to crumble under the relentless impacts. Yet they kept fighting, as though the battle itself was the only thing that mattered.
“The Seventh Head is insane! How does he expect to escape this predicament if he keeps fighting?!” Xue Yi muttered, her face tightening with anxiety.
From their vantage point, Xue Yi and the others could see the Peak Fifth Stage Dark Youngs beginning to stir.
One by one, the monstrous creatures turned toward the fallen half of the central region. Their countless tentacles writhed violently, scraping against their bulging masses of black flesh. Grotesque mouths split open across their bodies, releasing guttural roars that shook the air.
Then came the pressure.
Terrifying auras erupted from the Peak Fifth Stage Dark Youngs, one after another, as their attention locked onto Souta and Thousand Earth. The sheer weight of their combined hostility made the air tremble and the surrounding monsters recoil.
The two combatants were already battered and exhausted, their bodies pushed to the brink. Yet they continued exchanging blows in the midst of the horde, seemingly oblivious to the predators now turning their attention toward them.
Xue Yi’s heart sank.
The Dark Youngs were closing in, and the two lunatics were still fighting as if they had all the time in the world.
…
BANG!! BANG!! BANG!!
Thousand Earth and Souta continued clashing at high speed. Blood covered both of their bodies, and their energy fluctuations were gradually weakening.
“HAHAHAHA!!”
Thousand Earth’s laughter echoed across the battlefield. He was savoring every moment of this fight. For the first time in a life, he truly didn’t want the battle to end.
Every punch and kick he threw was filled with murderous intent. He continued pushing himself beyond his limits, relishing the thrill of fighting an opponent who could force him to give everything he had.
“Truly magnificent!”
Thousand Earth couldn’t help feeling that he had been born for this very moment. His blood boiled, his heart pounded, and every nerve in his body screamed with excitement.
For the first time, he felt truly alive.
He had been gifted with extraordinary strength since childhood. Even as a young boy, he was far stronger than his peers. The prodigies from the Holy Lands, children celebrated for their exceptional talents, paled in comparison to him.
However, that strength came at a terrible cost.
When he first demonstrated his overwhelming strength, he accidentally killed his father, who had been training him. The man died at his own son’s hands, and when Thousand Earth’s mother discovered what had happened, she abandoned him. She blamed him for his father’s death and wanted nothing more to do with him.
Thousand Earth came to believe that his strength was a curse.
Terrified of hurting others, he stopped playing with other children. With nowhere to call home, he wandered the streets alone, carrying a power he neither understood nor knew how to control.
Years passed before an old man took him in.
The old man was a mercenary who recognized Thousand Earth’s potential and began training him. Yet, tragedy struck again. Unable to control his strength, Thousand Earth accidentally killed the very man who had given him a home. Even a C-rank fighter had been powerless against him.
It was then that he attracted the attention of Dreyfus Blue Shadow Killer, one of the Heroes serving the Ruler of Gluttony.
From that day forward, the Gluttony Army became his home.
Under their guidance, Thousand Earth learned to control his strength. More importantly, he discovered that powerful beings existed throughout the world. He wasn’t alone. There were others who stood far above ordinary people, entities whose strength made his supposedly cursed power seem insignificant.
With that realization, he devoted himself to relentless training.
When he reached S-rank, he could kill an expert in the Second Shackle Realm. He possessed the terrifying ability to challenge opponents whose cultivation surpassed his own. By the time he reached the Third Shackle Realm, even Fourth Shackle Realm experts could fall beneath his fists.
Yet, despite his extraordinary strength, he eventually grew bored.
There were simply too few opponents capable of fighting him.
Only those who stood a realm or more above him could provide a proper challenge. Everyone else was little more than a stepping stone, unable to satisfy his desire for a truly exhilarating battle.
That was why he had been so shocked when he learned that Souta had defeated a Fifth Stage monster while still a Fourth Stage monster himself.
The moment he heard the news, his blood had practically boiled over with excitement.
He couldn’t quite put the feeling into words. It was more than the anticipation of finding a worthy opponent. There was something deeper, something that stirred within his very soul.
For the first time, he felt as though he had finally found someone who could understand him.
A friend.
BANG!! BANG!! BANG!!
Thousand Earth laughed heartily as he unleashed a barrage of fierce punches. Every strike carried the full weight of his strength, his fists tearing through the air as he continued exchanging blows with Souta.
He knew this battle would be over in the next few seconds.
There was nothing he could do about it. His body was nearing its limits, and exhaustion was steadily catching up with him. Worse still, the number of Dark Youngs gathering in the surrounding area continued to increase. Their grotesque figures loomed in the distance, drawn by the violent fluctuations of energy unleashed by their battle.
His time was running out.
Yet, even as his strength waned and the battlefield grew increasingly dangerous, the grin on Thousand Earth’s face never faded.
