Chapter 1341: Great Shen Empire: Fight till the end
Chapter 1341: Great Shen Empire: Fight till the end
THUMP!!
A thunderous heartbeat echoed through the air.
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
The heartbeat grew louder and more powerful with every beat, reverberating across the entire empire. Each pulse carried an indescribable pressure that seeped into the minds of all who heard it. Ordinary people would be driven to madness by the sound alone, and even monsters were not immune to its influence.
BOOM!!!
A terrifying surge of power erupted from the spatial crack, sweeping across the entire Great Shen Empire like a raging tide. The earth trembled beneath its might as the overwhelming energy engulfed everything in its path.
…
Meanwhile, Souta and Thousand Earth were still locked in the middle of their battle.
Suddenly, both of them stopped as they sensed the arrival of the Monster Lord. A chill ran down their spines, and their bodies instinctively tensed beneath the overwhelming pressure.
When they heard the strange heartbeat echoing across the empire, they immediately understood that the Monster Lord had no regard for the lives of lesser beings.
The heartbeat alone was enough to kill.
Even Souta could feel the terrifying power concealed within each pulse. It stirred the primal instincts of monsters, driving them toward an uncontrollable frenzy that could trigger a massive monster tide.
Souta frowned.
‘This… Every monster in the empire will go berserk. A massive monster tide could sweep across the neighboring nations. Perhaps this is why most Dark Youngs possess such low intelligence.’
His status as an Emperor allowed him to resist the influence to some extent. However, he wasn’t sure how well other monsters would fare against this power. Perhaps other Fifth Stage monsters could resist it if they maintained a sufficient distance from the Monster Lord. But if they got too close, the influence would undoubtedly drive them mad.
‘I’ve done everything I could. I’ve already put everything I need in place. It seems my role here is complete.’
Souta said inwardly.
In the opposite direction, Thousand Earth stared at the gigantic body emerging through the spatial crack. He could feel the air itself throbbing as waves of the finest feram flooded the surrounding area.
‘It’s already too late. Even after breaking through, I still couldn’t defeat the Blood Lightning Monster.’
Thousand Earth thought bitterly.
He knew that his chances of surviving this situation were less than ten percent. After all, he and Souta were the only ones left in the area aside from the Dark Youngs. Everyone else was either dead or had already retreated.
Thousand Earth took a deep breath and wiped the streak of blood at the corner of his mouth. Then, he turned his head toward Souta.
Souta noticed his gaze and looked back at him.
‘Oh? He still wants to fight despite the situation. Even with a Monster Lord looming over us, his fighting spirit hasn’t diminished.’
The corners of Souta’s lips slowly curled upward as he realized what Thousand Earth wanted.
Souta raised his hand and beckoned to him.
“Come on. I’ll give you the fight you’ve been looking for.”
Souta wouldn’t reject such a challenge, especially when it came from someone at Thousand Earth’s level.
Swoooosh!!
A powerful gust of wind swept between the two of them.
The atmosphere grew heavy with pressure as Souta and Thousand Earth stared each other down. Countless Dark Youngs of varying strengths had gathered around them, their writhing tentacles and monstrous bodies forming a sea of darkness.
Both men possessed strength that far surpassed that of their peers. This wasn’t the first time their paths had crossed. Since their previous encounter, both had grown stronger and endured countless trials. They had experienced battles, witnessed death, and pushed themselves beyond their limits.
And now, their paths had crossed once again.
Neither intended to let the other walk away.
This was a battle to the death.
A man who had survived thousands of battles and forged his own legend against a monster who embodied the very meaning of being unrivaled.
ROAR!!
An Initial Fifth Stage Dark Young suddenly leaped between the two combatants, its countless tentacles thrashing wildly.
In the same instant, Souta and Thousand Earth launched themselves forward at terrifying speeds.
Souta swung his sword while Thousand Earth summoned his enormous golem.
BOOM!!
The Initial Fifth Stage Dark Young was caught in the crossfire and instantly exploded into a cloud of bloody mist as Souta collided with Thousand Earth and his golem.
Their figures flickered across the sky, moving so quickly that their movements became nothing more than blurs. Violent flashes of lightning erupted between them as their attacks collided, each impact sending shock waves rippling through the surrounding air.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Not even a second had passed before both Souta and Thousand Earth felt a sudden chill crawl down their spines.
“Not good!”
They reacted instinctively, abandoning their exchange and launching themselves into the air.
In the next instant, a massive dark green beam swept across the entire area, devouring everything in its path.
The dark green ray disintegrated everything in its path. It pierced through the ground and continued downward, emerging beneath the floating central region.
A moment later, a massive explosion erupted, shaking the entire central region.
BOOM!!!
The explosion surged three kilometers into the sky, swallowing everything in its vicinity.
The remaining half of the central region trembled violently before slowly tilting toward the ground. Cracks spread across its surface as enormous fragments broke away and plummeted downward. Then, the colossal landmass itself began to fall, crashing onto the surface below and unleashing widespread destruction.
Half of the central region had been sliced off.
People across the other four regions stared in horror as they witnessed the catastrophic destruction unfolding before their eyes.
Fortunately, many inhabitants had already evacuated when the central region first rose into the sky. As a result, the casualties caused by the falling landmass were relatively low compared to the scale of the disaster.
“What’s happening over there?!”
“We’re going to die!!”
Some people stood frozen in terror, unable to comprehend the nightmare unfolding before them, while others ran desperately for their lives.
Many had already perished from the strange, maddening scream that had swept across the empire. Worse still, the monsters roaming the four regions had been driven into a frenzy, turning into mindless killing machines that attacked anything unfortunate enough to cross their paths.
The Great Shen Empire was collapsing.
…
In the half of the central region that had crashed onto the ground, the debris suddenly burst apart as Thousand Earth struggled to his feet.
“Cough!”
He coughed up a mouthful of blood, his body trembling from the effort. He took a deep breath, trying to suppress the agonizing pain coursing through him.
‘Too strong… That attack came from a Peak Fifth Stage monster.’
He raised his head, only to see that the central region had been sliced in half by that devastating ray.
Hmm?
Thousand Earth turned his head as he sensed movement behind him. Through the settling dust, he saw Souta emerging from the debris.
He clenched his fists tightly, desperately gathering what little energy remained in his body. He could no longer use his Archetype, and he barely had enough strength left to unleash his more powerful skills.
He studied Souta and noticed that his appearance had returned to normal. Even more surprisingly, Souta’s injuries were no longer recovering.
It seemed neither of them was at their peak anymore.
Souta gripped his sword and pointed its blade at Thousand Earth. The corners of his mouth curled upward.
“Come on. Show me what’s left in you.”
Thousand Earth closed his eyes for a moment.
Memories of his past surfaced in his mind—the battles he had fought, the hardships he had endured, and the experiences that had shaped him into the person he was today.
When he finally opened his eyes, a smile spread across his face for the first time.
“This feeling… It’s exhilarating.”
Suddenly, enormous shadows loomed over them.
Hmm…?
Souta and Thousand Earth raised their heads, only to see hundreds of Dark Youngs descending upon their location.
Before either of them could react, the monstrous creatures crashed down around them.
BOOM!!
The Dark Youngs piled on top of one another, burying Souta and Thousand Earth beneath their massive bodies.
Then, the mountain of writhing flesh suddenly erupted with tremendous force, hurling hundreds of Dark Youngs into the air.
BOOM!!
A terrifying storm of energy swirled around the battlefield, sending the ground trembling and the air vibrating violently under the sheer force of the eruption.
At the center of the explosion, Souta and Thousand Earth turned toward each other.
Amid the chaos, with hundreds of Dark Youngs tumbling through the air around them, their eyes met.
Both grinned.
Without a moment’s hesitation, they charged at each other.
Swoooosh!!
They stepped on the bodies of the airborne Dark Youngs, using them as footholds to propel themselves forward before colliding in midair.
The instant Souta’s sword clashed with Thousand Earth’s fist, another devastating shock wave burst outward, sweeping through the surroundings and scattering the nearby Dark Youngs.
“This is it! Blood Lightning Monster!!”
Thousand Earth laughed heartily as he unleashed a relentless barrage of punches. His fists tore through the air, each strike carrying the last remnants of his strength.
His blood was boiling with excitement.
Never in his life had he experienced such a thrilling feeling.
