The Extra Can't be A Hero

Chapter 264 264: The New Order (1)

Chapter 264 264: The New Order (1)

In an open field far from the Capital, two women stood face-to-face.

Both were striking beauties, each possessing a charm that could captivate nations. The first was a mature woman who appeared to be in her thirties.

Sultry, voluptuous, and impossibly alluring. Her blonde hair cascaded like liquid gold, and her emerald eyes carried a seductive pull that could unravel any man with a single glance.

Yet Isadora, Apostle of Lust, never needed to seduce anyone. Her mere presence was enough for men to gravitate toward her like moths to a flame. She embodied both obscene power and irresistible charm.

Opposite her stood a different kind of beauty—ethereal, refined, and breathtaking in a quiet, regal way. She was barely in her twenties, with pristine white hair that never seemed to tangle and ruby eyes that exuded an air of absolute authority.

Yue Elune didn't draw men with desire, but with awe; her presence was like a serene moonrise that men admired from a respectful distance.

Different as they were, the resemblance between the two was undeniable. Their faces alone shared nearly sixty per cent similarity—unsurprising, considering the bloodline they shared.

"My dear auntie, you aged terribly."

"My sister really never did teach you manners, huh?" Isadora shook her head as she bared her teeth against Yue. "Ah, my bad. She died too early for that, didn't she?"

"Heh, that's right. But mom's passing is actually a blessing in disguise. If she were still alive, her eyes might have rotted after seeing your demon-loving cunt."

"... how very virtuous of you."

Isadora's lips twitched, unaware of how she was going to react to her niece's crude remarks. Just moments ago, they were in the heart of Zephys. But Yue suddenly teleported her away from the rest of the Demon Cult, isolating them in an unknown location.

Although it had been over a decade since they'd met face-to-face, Isadora had monitored her niece's growth in the Elune House. Granted, it was because she needed Yue for the mission the Prophet gave her, but still, she was aware of how Yue usually behaved.

Virtuous and elegant.

The exemplary model of the modern-day goddess.

Yet, Yue was speaking like a sailor the moment she separated from Amon.

"Whatever you're planning, just give it up. Starfall has been cast, and the capital will be destroyed. Even if you manage to stop us here, the Hyades Republic is done for."

As much as she wished to slap Yue's smile off her face, Isadora was a calculating woman. She knew that there was no benefit in fighting Yue right now, especially since her goal was already complete.

"I know that. There's no stopping Starfall. The capital will be destroyed, and the Hyades Republic won't ever be the same again. Oh, and there will be many more faithful leaving the Holy Church to join the Demon Cult after this. The High Council will likely dissolve, and a new order will be established. Wars will come soon after, as the Demon Cult and the new Hyades Republic will fight over land."

"..."

Isadora paused, her mind racing after hearing the words Yue just blurted out.

Yue spoke as if she knew the future no, given the Demon Cult's intelligence on the woman named Yue Elune, they understood that she possessed some divination skills. But to clearly predict what was going to happen… the Apostle of Lust felt a little fear.

"What's next? Hmmm, the Demon Cult will partner with the Herald to resurrect the Titans, right? And using the time when the Titans fight against the Hyades Republic, the Demon Cult will slowly accumulate their power and prepare for a mass summoning… the reckoning of the Second Great Demon War."

"... you, what are you?"

At this point, Isadoara couldn't listen anymore. Hostility flared within her eyes as she realised the weight of Yue's foresight.

"Heh, got your attention now?"

Yue smiled, knowing that she had finally bought her useless aunt's undivided attention.

"Yue… I don't know how you got that information, but knowing it is enough to warrant death."

Isadora's demonic mana rose as she sought to intimidate and suppress her niece. As powerful as Yue was for her age, she lacked the experience to match her power as the Apostle of Lust. At least that was what Isadora firmly believed.

"But, I will give you a chance… Join my Gospel and I'll spare you!"

The blonde woman let out a rare smile and sought to recruit the talented young woman to her gospel.

One had to note that while Isadora acted loftily, her gospel was ranked among the weakest in the Demon Cult. Mainly because she lacked crucial talent, and she didn't have the personality to recruit high-level talent into her gospel.

But, if Yue joined the Gospel of Lust…

"Don't you wish for eternal youth? For your skin to never decay like mine? As you are aware, I'm already in my fifties, but my body will remain the same forever. What about you? As a mortal, your face will wither and your skin will eventually dry up."

Isadora whispered the words every woman wished to hear.

"Even your lover, I'll personally bless the two of you. You can live a life of debauchery for eternity. Retain your youthful looks and lust over each other!"

"That does sound tempting…"

Yue actually pondered over the offer, at least she appeared to. However, before Isadora got her hopes up…

"But, what's the use of joining a sinking ship? Apostle of Lust, you're going to betray the Prophet anyway, right?"

"..."

At Yue's final prophetic words, Isadora's gleaming emerald eyes turned venomous. She glared right at the young woman as if she wished to eradicate Yue from the face of the earth.

"... what are you talking about?"

"You can drop the act, auntie… I know your real goal of joining the Demon Cult, and the fact that the Prophet isn't granting your wish. So, you're going to take matters into your own hands."

"..."

Isadora Elune.

One of the most talented summoners of her generation. However, unlike regular Elunes, Isadora's interest wasn't in spirits; it was in something far more sinister.

Demons.

Her one true love.

Ever since she was young, Isadora was fascinated by Demons. Initially, like many young researchers, she sought to study them. But her intellectual study slowly evolved into a twisted love… an obsession of sorts.

She saw Demons as elevated beings, the next stage of evolution.

Demonic mana were a higher form of mana; demon bodies were enhanced stages of humans; and the Demon seed… was far superior to that of humans.

And thus, Isadora lusted for it.

But she wasn't satisfied with just summoning Greater Demons… she yearned for something more.

The pinnacle of all demonkind.

The seed of the Demon King.

Alas, a Demon King was akin to a Goddess, an entity that had separated itself from its mortal body and ruled over its dimensions as an overlord. Thus, Isadora sought the next best thing…

The Demon King's bloodline, or more specifically, a night with a Demon Prince.

If she had the Demon Prince's seed, she could usher in humanity's next great leap forward. She could evolve her children into higher beings and become the mother of a superior race.

And the cherry on top?

She could execute her lust and freely make love with the Demon Prince.

That was the sole reason why she betrayed the Elune House and joined the Demon Cult.

Isadora was ready to give everything: her body, her family, and even her soul for that ultimate goal.

But the Prophet kept delaying his side of the bargain, not from any fault of his own. After all, how could he summon a Demon Prince, one of the greatest existences in the Demon Realm, just to mate with Isadora?

Although Isadora was a beauty, that was only by human standards. Demons viewed humans as more akin to livestock or even pets. And to a Demon Prince, a human was nothing more than an animal one would see in the zoo, or even food to be served on the plate.

Would you mate with a chicken or a fish?

It was the same with the Demon Prince.

But Isadora, the Apostle of Lust, was persistent.

If the Prophet weren't going to drag the Demon Prince down to Hyades, Isadora would do it herself. She would gather all of the resources she had hidden and summon a Demon Prince on her own.

After all, before she was the Apostle of Lust, Isadora was known by another name…

The Demon Shaman.

"I don't know how you know that much, but you've just signed your death warrant."

Isadora surged her mana, tearing open dozens of portals at once. From within, demons poured out—Lesser Demons, Greater Demons, and even several Demon Nobles she had secretly contracted without the Demon Cult's knowledge.

In moments, the field was flooded with thousands of creatures.

Many in the Demon Cult rated Isadora poorly; some even believed she lacked the strength of an Apostle. But the truth was the complete opposite.

Yes, her personal strength may be weak, but her summoning made her the most powerful Apostle by far.

For Yue, however, this was ideal… For fighting against hordes was her speciality.

And beyond that, Yue had another purpose for bringing Isadora here.

'The next calamity… the summoning of the Demon Prince… If I kill Isadora, I can prevent the next calamity.'

While Amon had resolved calamities on his own, Yue knew that she had to pitch in as well. And judging by how Isadora was once part of the Elune House, Yue decided to enact her punishment as acting head of the Elune House.

"You could have had eternal youth under my wing, but you chose death instead. My sister would weep at your stupidity."

"Heh, eternal youth? Amon and I will get it in the near future anyway. There's no need to worry about that."

"... what?"

"There's no need to explain to a dead woman."

All of Yue's spirits appeared behind her like an unkillable legion. The mana they emitted was staggering, and the skies above reflected their utter dominance. Heavy rain poured as Isadora felt the air thin. Flying towards the vortex in the clouds, Yue levitated in the eye of the storm as she unleashed her true might, a divine power that even Amon had never seen.

At that moment, it felt like all of the laws of the world were bent to her will.

Space, time, and gravity… they all knelt to the monarch who had ascended.

"L-Laws?! You touched the domain of the Goddess?! B-But how?!"

"Like I said…"

Yue's ruby eyes twinkled with divine radiance as she spat in utter disgust.

"There's no need to explain to a dead woman."

And with a drop of her arm…

The sky fell.
