Chapter 422: Chapter 423 : Sheltered Princess

As soon as James saw the scene inside the room, he immediately backed out and slammed the door shut behind him.

Silence followed.

Then the air inside the room began to tremble as a terrifying wave of rage filled the space.

Alex looked at the two women standing in front of him and sighed. “Would you two relax? I didn’t know this would happen, alright?” he said while raising both hands defensively.

Before either of them could respond, energy suddenly began to gather around their bodies. Soft streams of mana wrapped around Kaelith and Victoria, and within seconds clothing began forming around them.

Dark fabric appeared first, followed by armor-like pieces that settled naturally over their forms. Soon both of them were fully dressed again.

The moment her clothes finished forming, Victoria’s expression twisted with anger. “You—!” she shouted and lunged forward toward Alex, intending to strike him.

But before she could even take a full step, the S-shaped mark on her forehead suddenly began to glow.

A burning light erupted from it.

Victoria froze.

Pain exploded inside her head as her body trembled violently. She grabbed her head with both hands and groaned loudly, “Ah—! My head! Oh my head!”

The mark burned brighter, and it felt as if invisible chains were tightening around her soul. Her mind felt like it was being crushed.

“Stop… it hurts!” she yelled in pain.

Watching this scene, a chill ran down Kaelith’s spine. Her eyes slowly shifted toward Alex, who was standing calmly and watching the entire thing with what looked like amusement.

A faint smile had appeared behind his mask.

‘That guy… he really is more dangerous than demons themselves. If he can make someone like Victoria suffer like that…’

Meanwhile Alex suddenly clapped his hands together excitedly. “It works! Thank God it actually works!” he said with shining eyes.

After several painful seconds the glow from the mark slowly faded, and the burning sensation finally disappeared.

Victoria collapsed to one knee, breathing heavily.

She slowly raised her head and looked at Alex. There was genuine horror in her eyes. She had never felt pain like that before, not even in her worst battles.

Meanwhile Alex was laughing.

Victoria clenched her fists and shouted angrily, “Remove this seal immediately!”

Alex calmly shook his head. “Sorry, Miss Slave. No can do. You see, I don’t trust people that easily, especially people like you who might stab me in the back anytime. So this is just a safety measure.”

Then his gaze slowly shifted toward Kaelith as a mischievous smile formed behind the mask. “Should I give you one too? If you get one, there will be no trust issues between us. You’ll be able to fully trust me.”

Kaelith immediately took a step back and said firmly, “No need… and stay away from me. You freak.”

Alex chuckled softly. “Come on, let’s do it.”

In his hand glowing runes began forming again as the familiar S-shaped symbol slowly appeared above his palm.

Kaelith’s eyes widened.

She immediately stepped backward several steps until her back hit the wall. “No… stay away from me,” she said nervously, shaking her head. “Noooo! Stay away! Noooo!”

Meanwhile outside the room, James had quietly returned to the door. He leaned forward and pressed his ear against it.

From inside he could hear shouting and screaming.

James blinked and muttered quietly, “Damn… he’s really going hard. Must be enjoying himself with those beauties.”

He scratched the back of his head awkwardly. “Damn it… now I’m jealous.”

Suddenly the door swung open.

James lost his balance and fell forward right at Alex’s feet.

The room went silent.

Alex looked down at him and sighed. “You are quite a pervert, especially for someone called the Red Ranger — a symbol of peace and strength.”

James immediately jumped to his feet and waved his hands frantically. “N-no! I was just checking if you were okay… you know… in case you needed help!”

Alex tilted his head slightly. “Help with what? Pulling up my pants after I’m done?”

James’s mouth twitched as his face turned bright red. “Okay, okay! I’m sorry for eavesdropping. I actually came here to invite you for dinner,” he said awkwardly before hesitating and adding, “Also… some new information has come to light regarding the Evil Spawn.”

Alex’s eyes lit up immediately. “Oh? Is that so? I’m coming. You can go ahead.”

James nodded quickly. “Alright.” Without wasting another second he turned around and hurried away.

After he left, Alex looked back into the room.

Victoria and Kaelith were both sprawled on the floor, completely exhausted from the punishment of the slave seal. Victoria lay on her side breathing heavily while Kaelith was leaning against the wall with her eyes closed.

Alex crossed his arms and said, “Are you two coming?”

Both women slowly stood up in miserable condition and glared at him.

Alex sighed again. “Come on, learn to get along with each other… especially you, Victoria. You and I are going to be together for a long time.”

Victoria’s face flushed slightly with anger. “Oh really? And how do you know I won’t find a way to remove that slave seal and run away after stabbing you in the back?”

Alex laughed quietly. “You can do that whenever you want.”

Victoria blinked in confusion. “What?”

Alex slowly removed his mask and gave a cold, menacing smile. “If you do, you will die a very horrible death after I find you, and when that happens I’ll ask you again if you still don’t understand what kind of person I am.”

The room fell silent.

Both Victoria and Kaelith swallowed nervously.

‘This guy is dangerous…’ they both thought at the same time.

Alex casually put the mask back on and said, “Alright, let’s go.”

In the next moment Victoria’s body dissolved into red particles and transformed back into a crimson sword, which Alex grabbed casually as he put it on his waist.

He then looked at Kaelith and asked, “What about you?”

Kaelith crossed her arms. “I prefer this form, thank you very much.”

Alex shrugged. “Suit yourself.”

Soon the two of them walked down the hallway and entered the mansion’s dining room.

A long table filled the room, and various dishes were neatly arranged across it. The smell of freshly cooked food filled the air as people were already taking their seats.

Alex noticed familiar faces — James, Clara, Camilla, Remus, Elias, and Maera, the Green and Pink Rangers.

Elias and Maera smiled when they saw Alex enter, and Alex simply nodded in response.

Just as everyone was settling down, Remus suddenly looked toward Alex — but his gaze stopped behind him.

At Kaelith.

For a moment he froze.

His eyes widened and his face slowly turned red.

Before he could say anything, Camilla interrupted. “Remus? Why are you daydreaming? Weren’t you about to say something?”

Remus quickly snapped out of his daze, cleared his throat awkwardly, and looked toward the table. “Just how many of you people are there? We don’t exactly have unlimited resources here,” he complained.

Then he suddenly looked back at Kaelith, rushed toward her in a blur, grabbed her hand gently, and said softly, “My lady… you don’t have to worry. You can stay here as long as you want.”

Camilla sighed and rubbed her forehead. “Not again. Falling for another pretty girl at first sight.”

Alex leaned slightly toward her and asked quietly, “Does he do this often?”

Camilla rolled her eyes. “More often than you think.”

Kaelith looked surprised for a moment but quickly regained her composure. “Thank you for your hospitality.”

Remus smiled proudly. “My pleasure.”

Camilla clapped her hands. “Alright everyone, back to your seats. I have something important to discuss.”

Everyone sat down again. Kaelith sat beside Alex, and Remus quickly took the seat beside her.

Soon everyone began eating.

Alex removed his mask so he could eat, revealing his handsome face — black hair, sharp features, and amethyst eyes that shimmered faintly like galaxies.

For a moment everyone stopped eating and stared at him.

Even Clara paused mid-bite.

Maera whispered softly to Elias, “Wow…”

Elias nodded slowly.

Kaelith elbowed Alex lightly and said quietly, “They’re all staring at you.”

Alex continued eating calmly. “Get used to it. I possess the kind of beauty that even gods envy, so it’s natural for them to react like that.”

Kaelith’s mouth twitched.

‘I don’t even have a comeback for that… because unfortunately he really is the most handsome man I’ve ever seen.’

She cleared her throat and said, “Miss Camilla, you were saying something?”

Her voice snapped everyone out of their daze.

Camilla coughed lightly and looked toward Alex. “Lucifer, I think we may have found a clue about how to clear this floor.”

Alex kept eating and said casually, “Alright, keep going.”

Camilla nodded. “After investigating thoroughly, we didn’t find much information on this floor except for one place.”

Kaelith leaned forward curiously. “Which place?”

Camilla answered seriously, “The Cursed Temple of the Fallen God Moraq.”

The table fell silent.

“We believe that place might hold the key, but we will need your strength, Lucifer. Many clans who entered that temple recently never returned… and the few who did came back completely insane.”

Kaelith’s eyes sparkled with excitement.

‘An ancient cursed temple… this sounds like something straight out of an adventure story.’

Alex noticed the excitement on her face and smirked slightly.

‘Looks like she really was telling the truth… she’s a sheltered child.’
