Chapter 2716: Chapter 2716: Jerk (Part 4)
Qin Shou saw things were going south and hurriedly jumped back a step. He was just there as accompaniment, okay? He didn’t sign up to get kicked. That kick was full force—just watching it made him hurt!
Seeing Hao Jian acting like such a coward only made Yang Ruxin even angrier; she simply raised her foot and kicked him again.
Hao Jian pouted and looked at Yang Ruxin all aggrieved, then suddenly plopped down on the ground. "Go ahead and beat me to death. I like her anyway. I’ve already had a Concubine in this life, and if I can’t marry the woman I love, then I’ll never marry. The Hao Family can just die out with no heirs, I don’t care!"
Yang Ruxin rolled her eyes. This unfilial brat—she practically wanted to help his dad stuff him back in and let him be reborn!
"Sister Xin." Qin Shou couldn’t bear watching his good friend like that and couldn’t help speaking up. "Calm down. Why are you lowering yourself to argue with some cheap woman?"
Yang Ruxin’s mouth twitched, but she still snapped toward the room, "Hurry up and come out, and hurry up and take this bastard away!"
Inside the room, Peng Mingzi’s face was streaked with tears, but she was smiling. When she heard Yang Ruxin’s voice, she quickly wiped away the tears running down her cheeks before walking out.
But Hao Jian just sat on the ground with his head down, refusing to look at anyone. His head was practically trying to drill into his own crotch.
Qin Shou, however, saw the person coming out right away. His eyes went wide with surprise, and he hurriedly reached out to poke Hao Jian. "Jianjian, Jianjian..."
Hao Jian’s body jerked, and he even scooted his butt a couple steps away, just to put some distance between himself and Qin Shou.
"Jianjian, get up right now." Qin Shou, fuming, went over and hauled him to his feet in one go.
"Don’t touch me. You’re the jianjian, your whole family’s jianjian. Call me that again and I’ll cripple you." Hao Jian shouted at Qin Shou.
"No, I’m telling you to look who that is." Qin Shou understood how his friend felt, so he didn’t argue with him. He just jerked his chin toward the front. "Hurry up."
Hao Jian shot a glance at his friend, who was waggling his brows meaningfully, then unwillingly turned his head—and instantly froze. He ducked his head and rubbed his eyes hard, then looked up again, staring wide-eyed at Peng Mingzi walking over. "You..." Suddenly realizing something, he swung his head around and glared at Yang Ruxin. "The person you wanted to introduce to me is... is her?"
"Yeah." Yang Ruxin nodded very innocently. "Too bad you turned her down."
"I..."
"Miss Peng, you heard it just now. This bastard already has someone he likes in his heart, so you should give up." Yang Ruxin looked at Peng Mingzi and sighed. "I can introduce you to someone better. I have plenty of quality men on hand. For example, Gu Qiao—he looks good, he’s steady, and it’s only a matter of time before he earns military merits, so..."
Right at that moment, all the way in Beijing, Gu Qiao suddenly sneezed and felt a chill running nonstop down his spine. He instinctively pulled a cloak tighter around himself. Why did it feel like madam was plotting something about him behind his back again?
"Big Sis." Hao Jian rushed over and grabbed Yang Ruxin’s sleeve. "I was wrong. I didn’t know it was her. The person in my heart is her."
Yang Ruxin glanced at Peng Mingzi. "You’re sure you want to marry this bastard? Absolutely sure you don’t want to consider anyone else?"
Peng Mingzi just smiled. "Besides him, I doubt I could find anyone who treats me more sincerely."
"Right." Hao Jian nodded hard. "Miss Peng, I’ll definitely treat you well."
Yang Ruxin couldn’t help rolling her eyes. She stood up, grabbed Qin Shou, and dragged him toward the door. "You two get one quarter of an hour to talk."
