Chapter 1992 A Tribute To Power
Chapter 1992 A Tribute To Power
[You know, we could return the scale to the world as soon as it's powerful enough, right? Like, we could hand it to one of the Supremes, have them load it up with power and then send it back to do its job.] Karl reminded the bird.
Hawk saw very little benefit in that plan.
How were they going to know what direction they were supposed to be going if they weren't given explicit directions? Look how many water element creatures there were? He even had a water element sister.
Remi rolled her eyes at the water hating bird.
[The scale is Life Element. No matter how long you keep it in the fire, that's not going to change.]
Hawk frowned, a twitch of his head feathers in phoenix form.
If the scale wasn't going to become fire element, shouldn't he just give it to the Oak Dragon now and have her finish it for him, so they could give it to Sapphire?
[Dropping that surprise on her might be too much of a shock. We should warn her first.]
Cara joined the mental conversation. [Or, get this, we could loan it to Matilda, and she could make it Legendary, then put it back. That would make it nearly as good as new, and the birds of the Golden Dragon Nation wouldn't have to suffer the weakness of the times between resurgences.]
That did sound good. But chaos instead of fire? That wasn't the scale's element either.
His sister was definitely trying to prank him.
Cara sighed at her brother's suspicion. She wasn't planning any sort of prank with the scale. The real entertainment would come after they empowered it and sent it back. There was no need to tamper with the scale at all.
Karl cut off their argument. [We can get to that later. For now, we will focus on getting the scale looking presentable. There is still a bit of damage to it that needs to be repaired. I will work on that.]
"Did anyone know of an available trial or dungeon that we can have all the newly advanced members enter? I know that we just finished a Trial, but getting them all into a dungeon to consolidate their gains should save them a lot of time adjusting.
Especially the ones that have been isolated in the Tiny World since they reached Immortality."
Oak shrugged. "That trial that Rue upgraded in the Tiny World is every bit as good as a dungeon. They can do it in ten or twenty-person groups if they'd like. Since they're all at Spirit Immortal, they're not going to do anything that will hurt a Supreme Ranked training space."
"Right. Almost forgot about that.
Letting them consolidate gains in there is as good as anywhere else. The trial might not be a proper dungeon, but we've got it coded to give rewards. That was designed more for the noncombat sorts so that they would have an incentive to go, but who knows what the System will spit out, since we randomized it." Karl agreed.
Oak smiled greedily. "Wait, you put randomized rewards in a trial instance? How is that any different than a dungeon or a Secret Realm trial instance?
It's the same thing, but on a lower power scale, and made by you.
Most of the Secret Realm Trials were made by Legends and Demigods to begin with, so fundamentally, it's exactly the same thing. You might think of it like a dungeon, made by the System, but really it's only that way in appearance.
If you keep developing on the path that you are, you really could just make your own Dungeons.
Once you reach Supreme, it wouldn't be any trouble for you to put a proper permanent trial instance in the Guild compound, and then we could charge for entry. It would make the Darklight Host a fortune with the other Clans coming here to have their lower Immortals run the trials.
A stable instance is a valuable resource all by itself."
"You know, both Rue and Leon have Runecrafting type skills. One is a smith and one is a Runemaster, but both are Supremes. If I started the process and let them finalize it, we could do it right now.
Wouldn't that be a wonderful way to welcome our Supreme Ranked members? We could even put up a placard letting everyone know that it was stabilized by the Guild, for public access.
At a nominal fee, of course."
Oak nodded eagerly. "I will let the others know. I bet that some of them even know special skills that might help us make an even better dungeon. You know the [Epic Golem] skill, right? So you can program proper dungeon bosses?"
Karl nodded. "That I do. And I have a few other similar skills that I can add. But I also have a hidden secret skill that might help us out."
"[Skill Merger]? I don't know if you can call that hidden when we've all guessed that you have it. But it's an outstanding one for this purpose. However, having Leon here will be a huge help. He had centuries of experience, and he's a Seraphim, so he can add the creatures of the higher planes into the mix as well, so it's not all monsters and demons.
That makes things much more tricky because nobody prepares defences against Fae and Holy magic."
"Fae magic is a higher realm?"
"Technically. The Mortal and Immortal Worlds are considered the centre. The Demonic home worlds are the lower planes, though most of what you know as demons are from the closest of them to the mortal realms. The Fae are the light equivalent to the common Demons.
Sociable enough to interact with the mortal races, and not so far from the Immortal Realm's Fundamental Rules that they're unable to function.
Some of the Upper Planes beings are made of pure light, or living gold. They're not really suited to life on the Immortal Realm worlds. There is a chance they can exist in a Dungeon, though. And if we put a bunch of Divine Elves, Light Elementals, and Pixies into a dungeon instance, the average Immortal would pull their hair out in frustration."
The green dragon sounded like she was really looking forward to that.
But even Karl wasn't sure how he would deal with Light Elementals, unless he used Darkness or Chaos magic. Perhaps [Void Blast]? What exactly could injure a being made of pure light?
