Rue slowly read the message that Rae had sent to the guild.
A wand that needed to withstand extremely pure lightning essence? She could do that, it wasn't that big of a deal to add the runes, and they had a number of Supreme Ranked metals that would be suitable.
Normally, wands and staves were made with wood, but there was no wood that was sufficiently attuned to lightning for the request that Rae had framed.
Creating a metal wand would be a unique experience, as the wand shape had mostly fallen out of favour. The mages didn't actually need one to focus their spells, though it did help to have a focal point to aim ranged spells.
So, many had simply changed to learning sword combat, or staves, instead of the largely decorative wand.
It wasn't a weapon that you could defend yourself with, and it wasn't particularly effective for attacking either. In fact, for the size and shape, most ladies would be just as well off using a hairpin to hold the enchantment.
Rue began to sketch the runes for the wand onto a sheet of paper, using the purest of lightning element enhancing arrays so that it would not just hold up to the extreme lightning power, but also resonate with it and amplify it.
That was what you wanted out of a wand, if it wasn't designed to grant a specific spell.
It honestly wasn't a long process, as she was only aiming for one thing. More powerful lightning magic, at the expense of all else.
So, it wasn't long before she had the design, and she could use [Divine Runic Smithing] to shape the lightning element metal into a thin stick, with a comfortable grip. Then, she remembered that this was a weapon for a teen girl, and decided that it could be a bit less utilitarian.
So, she decorated the grip with a forest scene featuring a small herd of Lightning Cerro.
They were the cutest of lightning element creatures, and they would tell future generations what the wand was for without being explicitly gender biased.
The main body of the wand was smooth and silver, a perfect channelling shape with a carefully shaped tip that would project electricity away from the user. That would help with barriers as well as attacks.

"Elder, I have the item that you requested. The creation is expensive, but not time-consuming. Tell me what you think."
The old man's eyes opened wide as he saw that it was a Supreme-Ranked weapon, but as a Rare Grade one it wouldn't be too horrifically expensive. It also didn't have much for combat bonuses, but the affinity bonus would help his student advance, as she would be more closely attuned to her Fundamental Rule.
"Will this hold up?"
Rue smiled. "I guarantee it. Let her try her worst, and I can assure you that nothing she does with lightning will damage that weapon, even if it's Tribulation Lightning or touched with Divine power. Once she's picked a new outfit, she can test her magic through it."
The girl laughed and pointed to the counter, where a small stack of clothing already sat.
"Once I change back, I can test the wand. Thank you for working so quickly. We had expected to have to wait for days."
Rue shrugged. "We don't stock a lot of Supreme Ranked items, so I'm often open for commissions. This one was interesting, since it needed specialty materials and a custom runic array. Much more interesting than the ones who just want the most powerful attack ability they can afford."
The Elder chuckled. That was always the request. Everyone wanted something that would help them get more powerful, and their first thought was always a better attack skill.

"What should I try for a test of the wand?" The girl asked from the changing room as she swapped back to her travel clothes.
"What's most likely to destroy weapons on you?"
"Usually, my barriers when they're under stress. I increase the power level, and the channelling items will shatter or burn."
"Alright, bring up your barrier, and I will stress it. As long as the barrier doesn't go wild, there isn't any real risk in testing it indoors. Our Guild members use an [Eternal Lightning] barrier all the time, and even when it breaks, there is no backlash, so I can test it to its limits."
The girl smiled as she came back out in her travelling clothes, and accepted the wand from Rue before she raised a [Tribulation Lightning] barrier in front of her.
The dragon smiled, and her hand shifted to grow scales and long black claws, an incomplete draconic transformation.
She didn't activate a skill, she just dug her claws into the barrier with the raw strength of an Avatar of the Void Dragon. It was more than enough for a Void Immortal mage's abilities. Her claws could cut through almost anything, a benefit of her god's favour.
The mage poured more mana into her barrier, which flared with power, impressing Rae. Her pure lightning power output was as high as Thor's.
The difference was that she was human, and her body couldn't handle the flow, so she had to channel it outward, where Thor simply let it coat whatever he was holding. That let him use more power without damaging anything.
"Well, no signs of damage to the wand, it's barely working to move that level of power. You should be good to use it right to the Peak of Immortality." Rue announced proudly as the girl collapsed to one knee under the strain of holding the barrier.
