Chapter 2036 Anilla's Plans
Chapter 2036 Anilla's Plans
In the Spirit Immortal Dining Hall of the New Home Merchant Clan, grand plans were being made.
Anilla and her friends had a day off school, and they now had four members with Classes. The rules said that they were not allowed to take missions outside until they had fully formed Immortal Spirits, which only Anilla had managed so far.
But that didn't stop their scheming.
They had two Druid healers, and Anilla's bonded partner, Shade, had grown into an adolescent Divine Moor Cat already, standing a full metre and a half tall at the shoulder, and weighing close to three hundred kilos.
The cat was already a Void Immortal, and it was dragging the young Half Elf up through the ranks at an incredible pace.
Her plan was for them to find a proper tank, and then they could sneak out to go on a dungeon run. Just an easy difficulty one. They all had a Clan Credit for the entry, so it should be fine.
If they had to pay it in coin, they could ask Cara to change the credit for them. She gave a good exchange rate.
The problem that they had run into was that Anilla's mom was too scary, and nobody was willing to take her and her friends to the dungeon without her mom's written permission.
Something that they would not be getting.
Anilla had already needed to resort to the double separate space escape trick to get away from her homework to come here and look for a tank. Going back home now would only get her into trouble faster, without the payout.
The escape method had worked great, though.
Shade held the Pet Space amulet, entered the Beast Space, departed at maximum distance, then pulled Anilla into the Pet Space. That put them both outside the building, and the cat could activate [Stealth] to get away into the Clan city.
They had tried doubling it up, so they were fully hidden, but quickly realized that if Shade entered the Beast Space while Anilla was in the Pet Space, the amulet would be left in reality. It couldn't go into a separate space inside its own separate space.
So, the closest they could do was hiding the amulet, and then hiding inside it.
That actually didn't work very well.
Her mother was Elder Xiao Bai, and her ability to find hidden magical items was uncanny after centuries as a researcher of magic.
"Wait, there is another option. We can go find Cara. She will find us a tank for our run. If anyone can do it, then it's definitely Cara," Anilla whispered.
Her classmates nodded.
"That's a great idea. She hasn't been to class in a week or two, but she'll definitely help her classmates. Where do you think that she is?"
Anilla thought about it for a second, and realized she didn't know what the badger was up to these days. However, Shade did.
{Go to the new dungeon, she will be outside, watching the show when people come out.}
The cat knew the badger better than the Elves or humans could.
The group left the cafeteria after putting their trays carefully on the sorting tray, and the members of the New Home chuckled at the bunch of preteen girls determined to get themselves in trouble.
Most of the occupants of the Dining Hall assumed that the Elder already knew where the girl was. She usually had a tracking spell cast on her.
So, they didn't do anything, and let the kids have their fun until a responsible adult went to collect them. They had done their part by not agreeing to help the kids get themselves into a dangerous situation, but the did have some concerns that they might find a fifth member who really would help them.
The Darklight Host's dungeon guards should stop them before they entered, right?
Anilla and her friends passed through the portal, and found Cara right where Shade said that she should be. Next to the dungeon, on the patio of a café, drinking fruit juice and making wagers with the other customers about how the next group to exit would have done.
The wager was always on who came out next, as betting on them as they went in was too easy to guess. Nobody really knew how fast anyone would finish, so blind betting on the groups coming out was way more fun, and the bets were all snacks from the café. The furthest from correct bought a round for the patio.
It passed time, and it was easy enough that when a table's occupants changed, the next group could seamlessly join in after just one round of wagers.
"Wait, there is another option. We can go find Cara. She will find us a tank for our run. If anyone can do it, then it's definitely Cara," Anilla whispered.
The four girls approached, and Cara waved them over to the edge of the patio, unsure what they were after. But the moment that Anilla touched the railing, a pale hand landed on her shoulder.
"I knew that you were up to no good. Mind telling me what you're doing all the way over here instead of doing your homework?" Elder Xiao Bai asked her daughter.
"Uh, gathering classmates for a study group?" Anilla asked hopefully.
Shade rumbled with laughter at the look on the Elder's face.
{She's not buying it. Try again. But it was a good one, we're all classmates.}
The Elder laughed. "You think that I haven't already guessed what you're up to, standing next to the new dungeon, looking for the badger after you failed to find a tank in the dining hall?"
"Ah! Someone snitched on us."
The Elder rolled her eyes. "Why would they need to? My office is two blocks away I could hear you when you walked past to start your plan."
So, they had failed right from the start, and she had only given them enough time to think that they might win.
Mom was evil, in a sneaky way.
Cara smiled. "How about this, there is a Trial Tower in the Darklight Host's hidden compound. I can let you all go practice there as a group, with a golem for a tank. Zero risk of death or soul damage."
"Please mom? I swear, it's all for the sake of study." Anilla begged.
The Elder sighed. "Call a Bunny, if she confirms it's true, I'll let you all go."
