Chapter 2039 Test The Potions
Chapter 2039 Test The Potions
The Alchemist Trio made their way to the training grounds, where Thor and his children were working on combat techniques in beast form, with Thor shrunk down to adult Cerro sized, to make it easier for everyone to see what he was doing.
Tessa was practicing her spear work on the side, along with a few of the locals who had interest in her combat style, but Remi didn't see any whose Immortal Spirit was unformed.
Even Thor's kids had a fully formed Immortal Spirit, though that was to be expected of Immortal Beasts.
"We need a few volunteers with a forming Immortal Spirit, and a few who just finished the forming," Andrea explained when the bunnies noticed her concern.
The bunnies nodded eagerly. "We have people who need that. Cooks and gardeners. Then, for the ones with spirits, we have the Jackalopes?"
Andrea nodded. "Bring them, and call for the ones in the training ground. I believe that Elder Xiao Bai will approve of letting them help us with a new potion's initial data recording. We've already verified its safety."
The Elder frowned, she was naturally reluctant to have her own daughter test things from the Mad Alchemist of the Darklight Host.
Remi's potions always worked, the Naga made sure of that. But the side effects were rarely listed by the System, and with the strange ingredients that she used, there were often many unexpected effects of the potion.
Not always negative.
But the Elder was protective of her most troublesome daughter, especially now that she had that Divine Moor Cat adding to the amount of trouble that she could cause. If she just let the two of them do whatever they thought might help their growth, they'd never stop getting into trouble.
In fact, the whole reason she was here in the Tiny World was because that girl had tried to do something crazy again.
Heading into a dungeon with a bunch of preteen human girls whose Immortal Spirits hadn't even formed. That was pure insanity, and she knew perfectly well that all of those girls liked to ditch their combat training classes.
Having the Bunnies of the Darklight Host look after them for a day or two would be a blessing.
Maybe she could enrol them here for a few weeks?
She sent a System Message to Anilla, telling her to bring the others out, so that they could take a training potion that the Elders had made. That should get them out without causing them to try to rebel and cause a scene.
Sure enough, a few seconds later, a bouncy Jackalope escorted them all out of the training with ink stained hands and eager eyes.
"There is a resource for us? You found something good? Thank you so much, mom! Hi, Remi!"
Remi smiled as the little Half Elf ran over to hug her, and then patted her head before turning Anilla to face Andrea.
"{This is the first resource for you to test. Everyone without their Spirit Formed should try this one. I think we've got ten samples today.}"
Andrea didn't question the math, as that would leave them ten to sell if the experiment lived up to expectations. She simply gestured for the kids to line up while they waited for the others who didn't have their Immortal Spirit formed yet to join them.
It didn't take long before they had their volunteers. Ten without Immortal Spirits, plus Thor's kids and a few more bunnies who did. Two of the Jackalopes were in the group, since they were near the training grounds to start with, but the other three were from the kitchens.
In fact, most of the volunteers had some from cooking duty, and Elder Socrate strongly suspected that they had been chosen by someone hungry, who was looking forward to the testing that always came after a progression.
If the cooks progressed, they would test their skills in the kitchen, and that meant more dishes than usual would be served with lunch.
It was a brilliant plan.
Andrea raised a hand to silence the group. "Alright everyone, settle down. We will start the testing now. First, we will start with the group that hasn't formed their Immortal Spirits. The first resource is a pill. Just pop it in your mouth and swallow. No need to chew, it will dissolve once it's in your mouth."
The girls eagerly accepted the pill, but waited for the others to all have theirs before they all tried it at once.
Remi's four hands flew over notepads suspended in front of her with ice magic, and she recorded every fluctuation in the mana flow of the test subjects. It looked like it was going splendidly, and the results were rather even across the whole group.
No major differences by species or class, only by progression level.
Those who were closest to forming their Immortal Spirit found it fully formed after just one pill, and then the effect stopped.
But those who were further saw slightly larger gains, suggesting that the best point to take this resource was just after you received your class and began the process of forming your Immortal Spirit.
That was an interesting one, though having it help you finish the process would also be very helpful.
The pill could be used more than once, with unknown levels of diminishing returns. Remi's potion, however, could not. So, that one would be the resource that needed the most careful note taking.
If it didn't grant progress, only spirit strength, it could be taken any time after the Spirit formed.
If it did give progress, it would be best to take it right as you were beginning the transformation of your Immortal Spirit to move into the Void Immortal Realm. Stronger Immortal Spirit, with a bump in growth for the transformation would be an excellent outcome.
The {Spirit Forming Pills} finished their work, and Elder Xiao Bai smiled at Anilla.
"Congratulations, daughter. Your good luck completed your Immortal Spirit today, so you can start taking missions around the Clan after work, to clear up free time between studying and school."
The little Elf frowned. The way that her mother phrased that made it sound like she had just gained more work, instead of getting rid of the boring parts that she didn't want to do. She had an Immortal Spirit now, she could go out and do missions.
Surely her mom wouldn't force her to stay in the Clan, right?
But she underestimated the protective instincts of a mother who knew perfectly well how much trouble a teenage girl could get into unsupervised.
