The victor of the first round, Liyun, appeared in the participants’ space while Maria returned to the store.

She was disappointed by the result, as the reward particularly mattered to her not for the valuable resources, but for whom that legacy belonged.

But she had seen many things over her long life, so she didn’t remain disappointed for long and focused on the ongoing competition. Liyun was her favorite to win since she had been defeated by the latter.

It was on purpose that only one battle was taking place at a time, so as to make the later rounds more challenging and entertaining.

Over the next couple of years in the competition, the first round took place. Some wars ended quickly while some took months to end.

Finally, the fifty victors of the first round were revealed, and now they were also matched randomly so that only twenty-five would survive this round.

Liyun was lucky that round as his opponent turned out to be the weakest of the remaining. Luck was also involved in the competition because Maria was clearly stronger than his second-round opponent, yet the former exited in the first round.

Anyway, it didn’t matter what round the participants were in since only one could inherit Aakesh’s inheritance.

Time flew by, and finally the last five participants were left. They were Liyun, Freyic, Gursty, Ong Rinji, and Hrits.

These five would now compete against each other in round-robin format like the previous round and whoever wins the most number of victories would become the champion of this grand event.

People in the audience started betting on the five remaining combatants. It wasn’t official, but people were doing it in their own groups.

Over the past few rounds, they had gone through several wars. Neither of them was overwhelmingly superior to the last twenty-five participants, so many didn’t think the last five had any wild card left to spare.

Without wasting any time, the last round began, and Hrits and Gursty became the first combatants.

Hrits was the second on the list to take his family to the third rank, and even in the Sacred Dimension, he had an exalted status as a patriarch of a strong race, with him personally being a Sacred Creator level cultivator.

On the other side, Gursty was a newcomer who rose to the occasion like Liyun.

The battlefield chosen for the two was not seen in any of the battles that had already happened.

It was an iron mountain, with its peak not in sight while the sky was blood-red. At its foot, the two facing armies were assembled, with a small ridge separating the two.

On one side stood the Hrits family. Nearly three billion members stood in different formations, and above in the sky, Hrits was floating, looking down on the other side.

On the other side stood the Gursty family. They had a smaller number of family members, but they were still around two billion members. Like Hrits, Gursty was above in the air.

Boom!

"ADVANCE!"

Sounds of charge rang out simultaneously in the area after the battle began.

Even the endless mountain trembled at the angry charge of more than five billion creatures.

"Frostwall!"

The next moment, an ice wall appeared to block the Hrits family’s charge, giving more momentum to the other side, but Hrits seemed to have anticipated that.

"Reign of Fire!"

Meteors appeared in the sky and charged at the ice walls.

Large bursts of vapor exploded, burning those in the foreground.

Hrits and Gursty then faced each other since they were the primary forces in the battle. With their fall, the winning chances of the other side could increase by twenty to thirty percent.

Gursty raised his left hand, and immediately, thousands of snowflakes appeared around him.

Each snowflake had a small magical formation engraved on it.

"Winter’s Dominion."

The next moment, Gursty’s cold voice rang in the battlefield. The entire space froze. The visible area of the iron mountains was immediately covered in ice.

Air stopped flowing and became viscous.

Hrits only laughed in response to that.

"Cold weather? Against me?"

He struck forward with an arrogant laugh. A ball of flame covered his fist. It broke through the frozen air.

Gursty barely dodged the attack. But the strike continued towards the mountains behind him.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The next moment, three loud explosions rang as three smaller mountain peaks exploded one after another, causing a shower of rock fragments across the valley.

Gursty narrowed his eyes. He had seen the attack already, and yet when he faced it firsthand, he felt its horror.

Hrits was the strongest of all if it were an individual contest, as he was at the late Level 150, while almost everyone was at early Level 150.

But since he wouldn’t die, he had nothing to fear. He raised his hand and a sword appeared out of thin air.

"Winter Wolf’s Howl!"

The next moment, a projection of a gigantic white wolf appeared above the sword. And then wolf howls rang in the area.

His family members stopped fighting on the battlefield, raised their heads, and let out wolf-like howls, which caused the projection to materialize into reality.

Hrits’s family used that small window to kill many enemies, but Hrits didn’t feel good about it. He had seen that attack in previous rounds, and he could feel its horror through the screen.

The continuous howl froze the space itself.

The iron mountain started developing cracks, and through those cracks, wisps of cold air emerged.

The temperature around the entire battlefield fell to a dangerous level for the majority of the members on Hrits’s side, but the other side became stronger as their injuries started to heal.

Hrits knew he had to do something as the battle was taking a drastic turn. It was also Gursty’s ultimate attack, so if he survived it, his victory was certain.

Roar!

He let out a beast-like roar as his body began to expand. A lion’s mane spread across his face while a lion tail emerged from his back, with wisps of black fire replacing the hair.
