THE GOD EATER

Chapter 1026: Pillar Of Metal.

Chapter 1026: Pillar Of Metal.

Unfortunately, that didn’t happen because the rank 8 Sky of Stars Metac failed at the first step of the plan. As soon as the white sky of stars appeared, the black hole in the area submerged and devoured it. The sky of stars didn’t even have the chance to saturate the area with white star light.

Seeing that his move had failed, the young man said to Loki, "You win. Enjoy your victory. I hope it won’t be your last."

At this moment, three more rifts appeared in the sky, and three more large, colorful, inquisitive pairs of eyes gazed down at the sky, looking at him.

He glanced at the newcomers calmly before returning his focus to the young man. He didn’t take the scholarly young man’s threat to heart and continued to put pressure on the avatar.

In less than a second, the body of the young man caved in under the pressure and shattered. His body was quickly ravaged by the Devouring Ability, so it was quick to disappear from Loki’s sight after it became too weak to defend itself.

What was left in the young man’s place was a large vibrating net. The net appeared to be made from strings of different colors woven in an orderly pattern.

Loki took the net and absorbed it into his body. Like the Truth Supreme Metac and the Illusion Supreme Metac, he sent this Formation Supreme Metac into his Divine Spark.

As for the rest, like the Luck Supreme Metac, Death Supreme Metac, Money Supreme Metac, Forging Supreme Metac, and the Mind Hunter Supreme Metac, he left them in the core of his Cave Heaven.

With the formation avatar dead and the Formation Supreme Metac secured, what was left of the avatars were the enslavement avatar of Lord Black Chains, the red killing avatar of Lord Sword Maestro, and the giant barbarian avatar of Lord Martial Will.

He glanced around at the remaining avatars, examining them. For some reason, he decided not to kill them yet. Instead, he turned his head and looked in the direction of the place where Golden Sun’s Cave Heaven used to be.

In the place he was looking at, there was a large and tall pillar stuck in the earth. The pillar was black and looked to be made of some metal. It was also over a thousand kilometers tall.

For such a tall pillar, it should have been noticeable to the whole world. But it had only become noticeable a few seconds ago.

Just earlier, there was nothing there. He had come to this place many times and fought here many times, but he hadn’t seen anything. However, at the exact moment that the eagle avatars died, the pillar suddenly appeared.

When he thought about why this happened, he chuckled and said, "It must have been a coincidence."

He didn’t dwell on this matter for much longer, though. After all, it was of no use to torture himself about this opportunity that he had been missing when it wouldn’t have made much of a difference in the past if he knew that it was here.

Instead of thinking about Heavenly Eye’s trickery, he flew over to the metal pillar. On the way there, he activated the Power Identification Ability.

Type: Celestial Artifact

Effect: + Divine Strength

Specifics: Fire Emblem. Strength Emblem.

Durability: 1/??

State: Damaged Beyond Use.

When he saw this, he thought to himself, ’So it is an artifact. I could use an artifact, especially since it is a weapon.’

’Unfortunately, it is damaged. It only has 1% of its structural integrity intact. It will take a lot to repair it.’

Scratching his chin, he thought, ’Hmmm. It should be repairable with divine crystals, some lifespan, and the Supreme Metacs of the Fire Pathway and Strength Pathway.’

He didn’t want to, but his understanding of the Forging Pathway kicked in as he examined the pillar. Just by looking at it, he could figure out how to repair it with some of the materials he knew about and had seen before.

As for whether the materials he had would be enough to completely repair it, he was sure that was impossible. Even without knowing what was missing, he knew that what he knew wasn’t going to be enough and that there was something else needed to repair the artifact that he didn’t know about.

He let these thoughts go through his mind as he went over to the pillar and touched it. Compared to the pillar, he was like a speck of dust. But when he touched the pillar, the pillar vibrated with a hum.

The pillar vibrated because he had struck it with force, not with a light touch. While the pillar could handle this much force and only needed to vibrate, the ground the pillar was stuck in was not so accommodating.

The force he struck the pillar with was transmitted into the ground, causing the ground to shake and break open in an earthquake. The earthquake caused the ground to lift and crack open, revealing that the pillar was embedded deeper into the ground.

Seeing this, he slapped the pillar again to shake it loose from the ground. He didn’t stop until the whole area had been completely fractured, with the cracks in the ground reaching into the depth of the continental plate.

However, the hammer was still unresponsive and unusable. It was like a dead piece of metal. Without life, he was better off using his hands to fight than wielding this dead piece of junk.

Upon thinking about the problem, he touched the metal pillar again. This time, he touched it lightly. He also infused his lifespan into the black metal pillar.

For the first time, the metal pillar actively reacted to something. Even though Loki didn’t shake it, it vibrated with a hum. Its vibration only became more intense as it came to life.

With the pillar coming to life, it absorbed as much lifespan as Loki could give to it. It was like a babe hungrily suckling at its mother’s teat.
