Chapter 1027: How Low Can You Go?

"What a greedy fellow," he said with a smile on his face. "Go on. Take as much as you want."

Unfortunately, the metal pillar had a limit on how much lifespan it could use and contain. Because only 1% of its structure was intact, it could only absorb 1,000 years of lifespan before it reached its limit.

After reaching its limit, the pillar didn’t stop trying to absorb more lifespan. It wanted to repair itself with the lifespan. But it was lacking the necessary materials for the healing, so the extra lifespan leaked out of it, wasting away.

Seeing this, Loki had to stop indulging the pillar. He stopped infusing it with lifespan. Then he grabbed it and hefted it from the ground.

With a sudden exertion of strength, he lifted the pillar from the ground. Since the ground had become loose, there was nothing holding the pillar down.

As it turned out, the fact that the ground wasn’t gripping the pillar anymore was very important because the pillar had a large rectangular block of metal attached to its other end.

After it was exposed, Loki saw that the rectangular block of metal was the head of a hammer. Seeing this, he said with mirth, "So the pillar wasn’t a pillar after all. It was the handle of a hammer."

As the colossal hammer rose into the air, it shrank bit by bit until it fit into Loki’s hands. It was still big for a hammer even after shrinking. Especially the hammer head, which was bigger than his head.

Shaking his head, he said, "This could pass for an anvil. If this is the hammer, I wonder what the anvil really looks like."

The hammer was now alive, so it could shrink its size for him. As for its weight, that remained unchanged. It was still as heavy as a super world.

When he felt the weight of the hammer, he said, "The divine artifact I am used to relies on the power of the Cave Heaven of the divine being to project power. But it seems celestial artifacts already contain the power of a world within them and don’t need the power of my Cave Heaven."

"If this is true, then the power of a celestial artifact will be independent of that of its wielder. If this is so, celestial artifacts will provide more power to their users compared to divine artifacts."

While he was musing to himself about the qualities of celestial artifacts, he put the celestial artifact into his Cave Heaven.

Thinking was thinking. It didn’t stand in the way of liberating the celestial artifact and securing it within his Cave Heaven. Especially since there were a lot of covetous eyes staring at his celestial artifact.

High above in the sky, many people didn’t like that he did this. But no one said anything about it for now. Only their gaze radiating icy intent alluded to their intentions for him.

He didn’t mind that he had officially become world enemy number 1. He just smiled and said, "It is time for the main event."

Everything that had happened so far was for this moment. He could have secretly returned to the Blessed Heaven World under the cover of the rank 8 Invisible Metac and sneaked into Golden Sun’s Cave Heaven with the Free Range Metac. But he attracted so much attention and made a scene for one main goal.

He had one main goal in mind and several smaller goals attached to the main goal that he hoped to achieve. The awakening of the Dao Lords, the assimilation of Golden Sun’s Cave Heaven, and the acquisition of the three new Supreme Metacs were all side quests to his main quest.

He still had some more side quests to accomplish. But now that most of his smaller goals had been met, it was time to start working on his main goal.

He started by putting the palm of his hand against his chest and bowing as he said, "I am Ragnarok. It is nice to make your acquaintance."

"I know many of you hate me to the bones, but I come bearing good news. But before we start, Lord Heavenly Eye, will you please fulfill your part of the deal?"

The response he received was a snarl. But she still dropped a red glowing mountain at him.

When the other Dao Lords saw Heavenly Eye giving the dragon who just killed two of her avatars, they could hardly believe their eyes.

Black Chain glared at her and said, "What are you doing? Are you breaking the rules? You can’t help him become a Dao Lord."

But Heavenly Eye said, "I have no choice. I have to give it to him."

"Besides, I’m only giving him the divine crystal. I didn’t tell him to advance. He will most probably fail his attempt."

However, her explanation was not good enough for them. Sword Maestro in particular couldn’t believe that the dragon was her tool all along.

Sword Maestro said, "This can’t be. How long have you been planning this for?"

"Of course, it is real," Martial Will said with a scoff. "I don’t know why I keep getting surprised. I should know by now that there is no limit to what you can sink to."

Tepid Scholar looked at him with immense disappointment as he said, "So you were in cohorts with the dragon. Does that mean all of the things that just happened were you pretending?"

When she heard this question, she sneered and said in reply, "How I wish I was pretending. I so wish I didn’t just lose two pathways."

Sword Will was still reeling from the sudden turn of events. His voice was full of disbelief as he said, "I thought you said you didn’t know the dragon. Was that all a lie?"

Frustrated, she replied with a question of her own, "How was that a lie if I swore about it? Are you saying that not only was i able to deceive myself, but i was also able to deceive the universe?"
