Chapter 1034: The Bait And Switch.

One of them could always find divine crystals by spending some lifespan, the second one could always retrieve the divine crystals no matter where they were, the third one was able to rewind time and make it so that the first brother didn’t need to spend his lifespan for them to know where divine crystals were.

Because of their powerful and complementary abilities, the three brothers were set up to become the richest Dao Lords. Unfortunately, they died or fell from their position as Dao Lords. This left room for Heavenly Eye to shine and compete with Tepid Scholar.

But despite the vast amount of divine crystals at their disposal, the two of them didn’t compete with each other for the Cosmic Dao and the subsequent Supreme Metacs that they were interested in. Instead, they chose to work together.

They recognized that competing with each other would only waste their resources and weaken them, which would let the other less rich Dao Lords compete with them. So they decided to cooperate.

But they didn’t stop here. They even took things further by trying to actively sabotage their less rich competitors.

When Sword Will exposed the possibility of sabotage by saying to Heavenly Eye, "And to think that despite having so many divine crystals, you still asked me to lend you some. Was that all a ploy to empty me of my divine crystals so that I wouldn’t be able to compete with you?"

Heavenly Eye became angry and asked in anger, "How could you say such a thing? I know that I am an upright person, but I will not let you slander me like that."

Down below, Loki was still continuing the auction. After he sold the Forging Supreme Metac, he offered up the Mind Hunter Supreme Metac for sale.

As usual, Black Chain joined in bidding for this Supreme Metac. And as usual, he was outbid by someone else.

This time, Tepid Scholar and Heavenly abstained from the bidding war. They didn’t seem interested in this Major Dao, which gave the other Dao Lords a chance to win it.

Martial Will didn’t join the bidding war either. As he glared at Tepid Scholar and Heavenly Eye, he said, "I’ve lost interest in making things difficult for others now. Thanks a lot."

So the bidding war was between Sword Will, Black Chain, Green Fire, Immobile Mountain, and Carefree Immortal. At the end of the bidding, Sword Will came out on top with a bid of 4,500 years of divine crystals and 20 years of protection.

The Mind Hunter Supreme Metac was Loki’s last available Supreme Metac, so when it was successfully sold, he began auctioning the avatars he had captured.

"The first avatar on the menu is the avatar in charge of the enslavement pathway. Who is interested in taking a bite out of this delectable morsel of an incarnation of power?"

Tepid Scholar said, "5,000 years of divine crystals and 20 years of protection."

Black Chain said, "6,000 years of divine crystals and 20 years of protection."

Seeing this, Tepid Scholar narrowed his eyes at Black Chain and said, "It seems you’re not as poor as you claim to be."

Black Chain responded by glaring at Loki in anger while saying with a cool, chilling tone, "That is the order of the world right now, isn’t it? Nothing is as it appears. An easily killable dragon might actually be a steel trap."

Snorting in disdain, Tepid Scholar said, "In that case, I offer 7,000 years of divine crystals and 20 years of protection."

Then he smiled at Black Chain and said, "It is your turn. Make sure to do your best."

Black Chain ignored him and said, "8,000 years of divine crystals and 20 years of protection."

Now it was Tepid Scholar’s turn. But instead of bidding, Tepid Scholar didn’t say anything.

The silence continued like that for several seconds. This prompted Loki to say, "We have 8,000 years of divine crystals and 20 years of protection. Do we have anyone with a better offer?"

"Please, remember that this avatar is responsible for imprisoning the will of the Blessed Heaven World. So being in control of it means one will get to control the freedom of a super world. It is even possible to enslave the will of other super worlds."

He was exaggerating a little bit, as even Black Chain hadn’t been able to successfully enslave the will of one super world, much less multiple super worlds. But no matter how he extolled the importance of this avatar and advertised its power, no one took the bait.

No matter how he went on and on about the potential of the Enslavement Pathway, Tepid Scholar and Heavenly Eye didn’t offer a better bid. As for Martial Will and the others, they also didn’t speak up.

But Loki shook his head as he said, "I am glad that you purchased the avatar. I truly am. But I’ve already made it clear that I will not change the sequence of payment before the goods."

"Wait a minute," Black Chains said. "What if I swear to lose my life if you die because I failed to protect you during the 20 years of protection?"

Instead of replying immediately, Loki took some time to think about this offer. He knew why Black Chain was desperate to get the enslavement pathway as soon as possible, which made him hesitant to agree.

But while he didn’t like Black Chain, he didn’t mind helping the Dao Lord of the Four Directions Sect get stronger as soon as possible as long as the Dao Lord would do the job of protecting him well.
