Chapter 1035: Black Chain’s Final Move.

Thinking of the purpose of the auction, a few seconds later, he said, "I’ll take your offer as long as you swear to lose your life if I die for whatever reason in the 20 years of protection."

Black Chain’s reply came swiftly as he said, "No. And I don’t think you want that."

Before Loki could argue, he explained his reasons, saying, "If you insist on anchoring my death to yours, my enemies will decide to kill me by killing you. That will combine the hatred they have for you together with the hatred they have for me."

"At that point, it will become more palatable for them to break their oaths since they will be able to take out the two of us at the same time. It will be a case of buying one item but receiving two."

When Loki heard this, he said, "I was being greedy anyway. As long as you do your job, I’ll be content. So we have a deal."

Black Chain sighed in relief when he heard Loki’s words. Then he said, "I swear on my Dao to give this Ragnarok 8,000 years’ worth of untampered divine crystals and protect him for 20 years. If he dies during the 20 years of protecting because I didn’t do my best to protect him, may I lose my life."

With the oath made, he began dumping divine crystals into the Blessed Heaven World. Because of this, glowing rocks the size of mountains began raining through the rift in the sky.

Loki gladly collected the first payment for his goods and kept them in his Cave Heaven. When he was done collecting all of the divine crystals, he set the white monkey free.

As soon as the Seal Ability was deactivated, the white monkey tore open the boundary of space between the dimensions. It entered the third dimension and rose to the sky towards its position in the divine constellation.

When Heavenly Eye saw this, she smiled and said, "Why didn’t you let your avatar return to you through your rift? Wouldn’t that be quicker?"

Without hiding anything, Black Chain said, "I’m doing this because I don’t trust any of you not to waylay my avatar, sabotage it, or even use it to trace the location of my true body."

Hearing this, Martial Will snorted and said, "If you think taking the route through the divine constellation is why your avatar can return safely, you’re mistaken."

"We are definitely thinking about attacking it and killing it before it can return to you. The only reason we haven’t done it is that we’re wary of the dragon. No one wants to send down another avatar for the dragon to capture, or worse, kill."

Despite being insulted and derided, Black Chain only smiled and said with sarcasm, "I guess this is my lucky day."

But Tepid Scholar shook his head and said, "With the way you plan and take action, you don’t need good luck. As long as you don’t encounter bad luck, you’ll always win."

"Take what just happened, for instance. Instead of fighting us for your most powerful pathway, you gave up on it. You knew you were going to lose, so you used the Death Supreme Metac and your other Supreme Metacs as bait to weaken us."

"The bait was so good that we would have taken it even if we knew that it was bait. Then you swooped in to get back control of your enslavement pathway. I must say that I am impressed."

"What high praise!" Black Chain said with a sneer. "Unfortunately, I am not worthy of it because if I were so good, I wouldn’t be in this situation where the smartest thing I could do was to give up my most powerful tool and most of my tools just so that I can maintain control of one of my tools."

With a smile, Tepid Scholar said, "Surely, you jest. Your plan to kill the dragon and grab the Luck Supreme Metac was impeccable. It should have worked if this dragon wasn’t so abnormal."

Heavenly Eye chose this opportunity to say, "Who could have known that this dragon would be so troublesome to deal with? It was an unexpected disaster that no one could foresee."

Tepid Scholar didn’t agree with her completely about this, but he still said in agreement, "Exactly. It is just a bout of bad luck."

"But you’re a true fighter. Despite this bad luck, you still managed to carve your way out. Many people thought that this was the end for you, but you managed to pull through once again."

While they were complimenting Black Chain and inflating his ego, the enslavement avatar was able to reach the divine constellation under everyone’s gaze. It merged with the divine constellation, and its power returned to its source.

With the Enslavement Pathway safely in his bosom, Black Chain felt like he could relax somewhat. But instead of relaxing, he decided to beat the drums of war.

He looked at Heavenly Eye, Tepid Scholar, and the other two in control of the Blessed Heaven World with him, "Until my demands are met, you can forget about the ascension of the Blessed Heaven World. I would rather die than let you become complete Dao Lords."

Next, he said to Green Fire, Immobile Mountain, and Carefree Immortal, "As you know, I no longer have the strength to stop you. So you’re free to help your worlds ascend to the upper realm."

Finally, he said to Loki, "You can start counting your days, young dragon. Because in 20 years, I will be coming for you. At that time, I will not underestimate you.

Then he closed the rift in front of him and disappeared from everyone’s sight.

The rift closed with the sound of water flowing in a river. When it closed, no one said anything. There was only silence as everyone looked on at where Black Chain used to be.

Finally, someone spoke. Immobile Mountain asked, "Is he always this intense?"
