THE GOD EATER

Chapter 1044: The Challenge.

Chapter 1044: The Challenge.

But even when he was able to understand what was going on, he had a hard time coming to terms with what he was seeing because it shouldn’t be possible and because it had encroached too much into his boundaries of the concept of ownership.

According to the Power Identification Ability, the opponent had first used the Extreme Speed Metac. Then they had combined that with the False Sight Metac of the Illusion Pathway, which is a Divine Metac that tampers with the senses and perception of others.

So most of the afterimages were definitely fake. This was how the army of enemies was created.

But then the dragon added the Many Forms Metac of the Transformation Pathway to the illusion. After it, it activated the Blade of Time and combined its power with the True Damage Metac and the Devouring Ability.

Finally, it added the Artifact Enhancement Metac of the Forging Pathway to make the weapon bigger and more powerful. With the True Sight Metac of the Truth Pathway and the Power Identification Ability, he could see all of these things.

He could also see that all of these Divine Metac and abilities belonged to different pathways and should have belonged to only him. This was the main reason he was shaking his head in disbelief.

As he shook his head, he was thinking, ’I knew this couldn’t be good when it looked exactly like me. It wasn’t good last time, so how could it be good this time?’

’And it is using my Supreme Metacs like it always owned them. Is this how people feel when I break the rules?’

’Fortunately, I am not as helpless as they are. I can do something to stop this.’

Clearly, this dragon has stolen everything that used to belong to only him or was copying it. Loki didn’t know if this was temporary or if it was permanent, but he didn’t like it at all and was hell-bent on putting an end to it.

In a bid to achieve this, he also activated his Divine Metacs and rushed into battle. His figure flickered, and afterimages surged out of him. The afterimages also created a black and red blade that they swung at their enemies.

The two armies of mirages clashed with each other, killing each other. The army of the enemy always had the upper hand, though. Even with a lesser number of fighters, the enemy was always able to defeat him because it was a better fight.

The fight between them showed the massive difference in skill between the two combatants. Even with the same tools and the same amount of energy, one side was always victorious.

"Do you feel the difference between us? You’re clumsy. You’re not agile or dexterous, and you’re wasteful with your actions."

"You make too much movement trying to accomplish a physical activity. Even a baby is better at controlling their body."

"It is almost as if you don’t know the extent of your existence and can’t control each individual part of your body independently."

"And you seem to always think before you take action. What kind of foolishness is that? Do you really think you have all the time in the world to think?"

"What is this? Do you not predict what your enemy is going to do before they do it? Instead, you wait to see what they do before you counter them. Don’t you know that when you see something, it has already happened? What is good about seeing the past?"

"This is truly a sight to see. I can’t believe that there is someone who likes to wait for the result of their attacks before planning the next attack. You’re supposed to always plan for failure and use your failure to create the next attack."

"No wonder your attacks are so disjointed. You look like you’re being controlled by a puppet master. This is a disgrace."

"Come on now. You’re making this too easy for me. This is like taking candy from a babe. It is almost embarrassing for me."

"Can’t you just split your mind into different parts that can concentrate on a single thing instead of trying to do everything with a single mind? Do that and make this somewhat challenging for me."

"At this rate, you have to be retarded. You simply don’t have the mental acuity needed to wield an item of such power. Compared to me, the spark of power is being wasted on you."

Again and again, the dragon that looked like him insulted him. Again and again, he accepted the insults without anger and without saying anything in retort.

First of all, everything the dragon said was true. He would have liked a bit of falsehood here and there. Unfortunately, there was none.

Maybe if the dragon had lied and exaggerated a little bit, he would have been able to get angry. But even if this was the case, the truth was that he didn’t have the luxury to get angry.

As the dragon had said, he couldn’t split his mind, so he only had one mind to work with. This single mind had to focus on the fight right now and didn’t have any room for the emotions of anger.

He simply didn’t have the mental resources to talk back in anger. To do so would be to distract his already overwhelmed mind.

The army of mirages that the dragon made was supposed to be phantoms, but the dragon turned them into real fighters by using the Truth Pathway. He used the Truth Pathway to turn something that was a lie into the truth.

Loki could do this too, and he did it easily. The problem with this was that he couldn’t control all of the copies of himself as easily as the enemy could.

Actually, the dragon wasn’t controlling its copies. It had actually split its mind into each individual copy, so the copies were independent and could act alone without direct control, making it so that Loki was fighting many people at once.
