Chapter 1071: The Egg Shell Theory.
When he extended his vision to the edge of the world, he noticed that the surface seemed to curve and dip away. So there was no limit to the size of the third heaven in sight. Instead, there was a horizon where the ground seemed to meet the sky.
The sky itself was pitch black, forming a stark contrast with the white ground. The sky also reminded him of something he had seen before.
"Isn’t this the sky above the first heaven? It is also above the second heaven."
"Now that I think about it, I saw this pitch darkness at the edge of the Sea of Worlds too. It seems to be everywhere."
When he looked down between the gaps in the fragmented land masses, he saw a large black void. But the void wasn’t completely empty. There were occasional sprinkles of multicolored earth across it.
He saw some weird, colorful creatures in this layer. He saw birds flying on the ground and worms burrowing in the air in that underground world. There were also blue lakes moving across the ground to join up with other blue lakes, becoming larger lakes.
His eyes widened when he saw these things. He couldn’t help but say, "Isn’t that the second heaven?"
He roamed his eyes across this underground layer, seeing spheres of various sizes in the darkness. Only a handful of these spheres possessed the layer of multicolored earth on their surface.
Seeing this, he nodded in understanding and said, "That should be the Sea of Worlds. The small spheres should be worlds, and the ones with the multicolored layers should be super worlds."
"I didn’t even try, and I saw these things. Does that mean every Dao Lord can see every world and super world at a glance? No wonder it is very difficult to hide things from them."
Then he suddenly asked, "How do I see more, though?"
From his current position, he can see every world in the Sea of Worlds at a glance. He can see that there are 5 super worlds, 12 large worlds, 77 medium worlds, and many more small worlds.
In comparison, in his past life, there was at least 100 billion and up to 1 trillion planets in the Milky Way. Based on this, he could see at a glance that the Sea of Worlds was on its death bed.
In his vision, the Blessed Heaven World was the most prominent world because it looked like an octopus capturing small and medium worlds with its tentacles and pulling them to be devoured.
However, despite his extraordinary vision, he couldn’t see what was going on in the worlds. In fact, he couldn’t see anything other than worlds, which made him curious to test how Dao Lords were able to peer into the Sea of Worlds.
After thinking about how to go about it, he projected the power of his Divine Spirit towards the Sea of Worlds. As he did this, an invisible and intangible force erupted from his mind outward into the darkness.
Wherever the intangible force reached, his perception also reached it. Using this medium, he was able to pierce into the darkness of the void to see what lay beneath.
Unfortunately, there was an obstacle in his way, and the expansion of his spirit was stopped short. He refused to stop, though. He continued to press forward with his spirit, pushing the obstacle aside.
Suddenly, with enough force, the obstacle gave way and a hole was torn in the barrier. His spirit was able to pass through this hole to see what was beyond the obstacle.
After passing through the barrier, his vision immediately opened up, and the Sea of Worlds became clearer. It was as if he had been looking at the Sea of Worlds through a fabric earlier. The fabric had distorted and obscured what he saw. But now, he could have direct sight of the Sea of Worlds.
In his vision, he finally saw people and animals. He was looking at the Central Domain of the Blessed Heaven World, so his vision was full of a scene of devastation.
This made him chuckle and say, "If I were the one who owned this place, I wouldn’t be happy that someone trashed it like this."
As he looked, he noticed that the power of his spirit was also able to pierce the minds of the living things he saw to read their thoughts and see everything about them. This wasn’t particularly impressive to him since he could read the minds of mortals as a divine being.
What impressed him was that he was able to see the Cave Heaven of divine beings. This made him shake his head and say, "Forget about helping a large world advance to become a super world in secret. Even a divine being can’t hide how many Divine Metacs, how many Divine Positions, and how large their Cave Heaven is from a Dao Lord. How can anyone escape from this kind of surveillance?"
The more he looked, the more he realized just how trapped those below were. The fact that he didn’t see a single rank 9 being throughout the Sea of Worlds was another proof of the impact of the control of Dao Lords.
"Of course, the rank 9 Dao Initiates could be hiding from my sight. It has happened before, so who is to say for sure that there are no rank 9 Dao Initiates in the Sea of Worlds? At best, we can say that there are no visible rank 9 Dao Initiates in the Sea of Worlds."
Aside from his personal experiences with rank 9 beings that were hiding, he was inclined to believe that rank 9 Dao Initiates are hiding because of the fact that the power of his divine spirit has been watered down in the Sea of Worlds.
Even though he was able to pierce through the barrier obscuring his sight, the barrier was still able to filter the power of his divine spirit, so his vision wasn’t as clear as it ought to be.
However, despite this weakening, the power of his divine spirit was still too much for the people in the Sea of Worlds to bear. When his spirit swept over them, they froze in place.
