Chapter 1098: The Promise Of A Good Time.

"Of course we have to," Tepid Scholar said in reply as if he was stating the obvious. We already planned to deal with Black Chain. Since this boy has taken the opportunity to lure him into the Sea of Worlds, this is a good opportunity to surround and kill some of Black Chain’s avatars."

Then Tepid Scholar said to Harem King, "You should join us. This is also an opportunity for you to take revenge on Black Chain for abandoning you and letting you wallow away."

"With you working together with us, we have a better chance of crippling Black Chain. I dare say that nothing can go wrong."

Harem King smiled and said, "It will be my pleasure."

Only Sword Maestro said, "I do feel sorry for that newbie, though. He reminds me of so much of myself."

"That’s true," Martial Will said in agreement. "I can see the resemblance. Both of you are clueless and ignorant."

"No. I mean we both have great potential," Sword Maestro shot back.

"Potential or not, he is done for now," Tepid Scholar said gravely. "With only one Supreme Metac, once this avatar of his dies, he is doomed."

As they were talking, their figures dropped from the divine constellation. Just like that, 11 avatars descended into the Blessed Heaven World.

Loki, who called himself Lord Ragnarok, sent his one and only avatar. Black Chain sent down five avatars. The remaining five Dao Lords sent one avatar each, making 11 avatars.

While these 11 avatars went down to have violent communication with each other, Tepid Scholar, Heavenly Eye, Martial Will, Sword Maestro, and Harem King still had 6 avatars waiting in the divine constellation.

Of the six avatars, two were of the Alchemy Pathway and the Talisman Pathway. The two belonged to Tepid Scholar, leaving the remaining four pathways to the other four Dao Lords.

These four pathways were the Strength Pathway of the Martial Body Sect, the Sword Pathway of the Sword Way Sect, the Lust Pathway of the Joyful World Sect, and the Seer Pathway of the Nexus of Truth Sect.

Heavenly Eye had sent down the black eagle to join the fight, so the white eagle was still in the divine constellation. She wanted to send down the white eagle too, but Tepid Scholar had stopped her.

Tepid Scholar had said, "One avatar from each of us should be enough. If it is not enough, we will send more avatars."

So Heavenly Eye nodded and said, "Alright. Let’s wait and see."

As it turned out, the five avatars they sent weren’t enough. But even though they saw that they were losing, they didn’t send more avatars to reinforce their losing side.

After watching the fight, Martial Will said in surprise, "I didn’t expect that. I didn’t expect that at all. If I had a million guesses, I couldn’t have guessed this outcome."

"I’m done for," Sword Maestro said in agitation.

Then he turned to the others, saying, "What are we going to do? Please tell me that you have a plan. I can’t lose the Killing Pathway!"

Unlike the other Dao Lords who were pretending to have two pathways, he really only had two pathways and couldn’t afford to lose his strongest pathway just like that.

When no one said anything, Sword Maestro asked them, "Should we send more avatars?"

"Are you blind?" Heavenly Eye shot back at him. "Did you not see how easy it was for him to trap our avatars? With that kind of power, any more avatars we send will be lambs sent to the slaughter."

"But are we really not going to do anything?" Harem King asked, unreconciled with the situation.

She was actually looking at Tepid Scholar when she asked that question. She was looking at him because he had been the one to invite her to join the fight, so he was the one responsible for putting her in this trouble.

Feeling the weight of her gaze, Tepid Scholar could only sigh and say, "There is something wrong with this young man. His strength is abnormal. Until we figure out why he can suppress our Authority while suppressing us with his Authority, our hands are tied."

What he said was reasonable, but it was not good enough for her because Loki had targeted her avatar specifically and was now attacking it to kill it.

There were ten avatars in total, with many of them stronger than her avatar. But Loki only trapped 9 avatars while he pursued her with all of his power.

By now, Loki had caught up to her avatar and was killing it. This was the avatar belonging to the Emotion Pathway, the only Grand Dao she possessed, so her situation was identical to Sword Maestro’s.

If she lost this avatar, she would be losing a huge chunk of her potential and strength. This possible outcome pushed her to desperation.

Because she was desperate, she said to Loki, "Please, spare me. I promise to serve you for a hundred years if you spare my avatar."

In response, Loki asked, "Weren’t you responsible for the downfall of Golden Sun?"

"That was all in the past. I’ve left those days behind me," she said earnestly. "I truly have turned over a new leaf."

But Loki still said, "I am not as good as Golden Sun. If Golden Sun can be brought down by you, I will definitely be ruined by you."

Unwilling to give up, she said, "You want celestial gold and divine crystals, right? I have some here."

Upon hearing this, Loki sneered as he said, "So you’re ready to do business with me now? Imagine that."

"Just earlier, you were content with watching on while the rest engaged in price fixing. How the times have changed," he said in mockery.

She continued to try to convince him to spare her avatar, but his mind was made up, and nothing she could say was good enough to change his mind. She pleaded while he smashed the avatar like a baker beating dough into shape.
